Well, obviously it's Fan Xian at the top but I really liked Teng Zi Jing for the short while he existed. :-(( I like Wang Quinan and Uncle Wuzhu and DuoDuo a lot. There is so much to like about most of the characters, even the 'shady' ones LOL! I was even a tad upset when Xiao En and Shen Zhong died!

Ooh! I missed that about him loving FX's mum though the way he talked about her and cared for her plants should have given me a clue! Duh! I hope he loves FX, that would definitely redeem him for me.

Oh my Goodness! You are right! His voice thought...just went back to listen to it with my best earbuds! LOL! 😍 I wish you hadn't pointed it out! I've got him on in the background and ,ahem, it's kind of nice. ( Have I understood what you mean by ASMR?) He is quite a character and the actor plays him really convincingly; with that voice you feel his power and hypnotism even more, notwithstanding the wheelchair. When you hear about the mysterious 'Head'. Director Chen lives up to that image. Outwardly a very effective character. Does that take the sting out of the comment in my review? 😇
I think I might drop this... I'm only on ep 7 but..Why do they have to waste time on other characters and unnecessary…
LOL! You've been skipping so much, no wonder it's not making sense! Changge doesn't recognise A'Sun until Ep 15 I think but he knows only that she is a girl around Ep4. Later he knows she is the princess Yong Ning.

Agree with you on it being one of the best! I got all those elements you mention and they were spot on. Wang Juan is a pretty cool screen writer; I'm his fan now! I'm wondering if the complete manhua/novel is out in English?
I enjoyed this drama so much ; what a rollercoaster ride! Such well crafted characters, great acting and gripping storyline; rarely is there a dull moment with so many laugh out loud moments and some sad ones too. I especially found the costumes quite eye-catching. ( Reminded me of the Romulans in Star Trek!) I really like Fan Xian's ability to talk his way out of most tricky situations, his easy going banter and his love for 'Lady Drumstick' is so cute! But above all I like his sincerity and humanity and it is a contrast to all the other shady characters who have such screwed-up principles like the Chen Ping Ping, the emperor, Shen Zhong, Zhu Ge and Yan Bing Yun. ( Xiao Zhan's character was not a total surprise as I couldn't warm up to him from get go!) No offence to fans of these characters but ostensibly, they've played their role really well.
I like FX's relationships with the other characters like Uncle WuZhu, Fei Jie, Teng ZiJing and Wang Quinan so much that I almost gave up the drama when ZiJing got killed! The interactions between the 'Saintess' and FX' are the funniest and I'm a teensy bit disappointed that there aren't more of them. (Look forward to more in next seasons) There are so many captivating moments throughout the whole drama that had me on the edge of my seat and glued to my screen, that I binged the whole 46 eps in a few days! Not good at reviews so I'll just say that I can't wait for the next seasons; I'll re-watch season 1 before the 2nd airs just to remind myself of the story.
That's great news! I don't know much as I just started watching this drama this week. But I'm glad a season 2 and 3 is in sight. ( I checked out the season 2 page on MDL just now) I just hope it is as enthralling as the first one.

I am on ep 33 of JOL and it is compulsive watching! I have watched Princess Agents but when I tried to re-watch not so long ago I was unable to get into it 2nd time around. I'm planning to go back to SSS next but if I can't I'll pick another from my list like 'When A Snail Falls in Love'; one of my favourites.
