i agree. what makes this drama so refreshing is that the story narrates the origin, rise and fall of a villain. and it's fun exactly for that reason. baek ajin is refreshing and COOLER cuz she is a villain, no punches held back.

the past was shown not for sympathy, but to understand. for the audience to learn the factors that forged the person baek ajin is. what made her.

countless dramas have done the love redeeming a person thing (the recent genie for instance) so it seems like people are attuned to expect the same. i hope the drama sticks to the webtoon plot though. on another note, maybe it will be fun for webtoon readers to watch the audience gradually realising too. looks like ajin's character is good at manipulating the audience off the screen as well lol

started this cuz i wanted my historical fix! first ep is kinda slow and confusing but I'm having fun towards the end. sejeong brightens up the screen

the beanie guy was a real stalker. she did hit him with the brick, and basically blackmailed/paid him from there on to stage the scenario to fool the cafe owner

but then just as she says he will be let out of prison eventually and will be back to torment her (even more brutally this time)

you should continue watching imo. the coming up arcs will determine if baek ajin is truly pitiful or not.

remember junseo was manipulated from childhood and driven by the guilt of his parents actions. to the point he even readily took the blame for a murder he didn't commit. that's extreme loyalty and commitment to protect her. he didn't change his stance despite knowing she's a murderer. so what could be his final straw?

that said, junseo isn't the best person either. rest assured he will get his serving of karma for his actions.

gee here I thought only Oh Eunseo is working hard while this little hardworker also has been part of 7 dramas this year!

in a way we could say he was "groomed" to be so by ajin in his formative years, and all the while he was growing up

the police realised he was lying and trying to falsely frame himself to save ajin. there's no law that keeps you in jail for long cuz of a false confession afaik
