plot says his character is a successful film director awarded at several international film festivals who comes back to his hometown to find his first love (?). don't see how that's sad tbh
I remember reading an observation in the comments when I started the drama that the common essence tying each case is love. Various forms of love. And that observation really early on was bang on, with the show giving us a beautiful monologue and ending montage with the characters and love that binds each story. beautiful finishing touch!
Really enjoyed watching this one ❤️ the law cases were interesting, and each had an emotional connect which amplified its impact. The Butterfly Chrysalis ep in particular will stay with me for a long time.
the OST is really lovely. sets the tone of the drama well. and the drama is a fun watch too, at ep 10 now and I'm really enjoying it. the leads have great chemistry too, so is the comedy!
I’m curious, which language subtitles did they change? They didn’t change the English subtitles in episode…
nah you are definitely right. they have changed the subs (and it's not English CC). i saw a post complaining about Netflix transation of the king's confession to FL and how it was wrongly translated to "be my companion" when it should have been life partner. but when i watched it this weekend the subs were "partner" and not companion. so they are definitely making changes, probably doing corrections.
right?! lmao i don't get why everybody's behind that one line😭 like i thought it was pretty obvious the torn…
yeah that make sense. i half expected him to follow her into the mangunrok to be honest. plus it would have been fun to see our king wandering into and getting adjusted to new joseon 🥲 but oh well it's only 12 eps.
wow this show did itself a massive disservice by including the line, "that's not important" because it…
right?! lmao i don't get why everybody's behind that one line😭 like i thought it was pretty obvious the torn page of mangunrok is what brought the king to the future too. sure we don't know where he landed, how he got dressed up in the modern suit and hair but like that's besides the point isn't it lol! it's fantasy for a reason
I’m so in love with this drama I can’t get anything done around the house. I’m at episode 11 and unable…
so relatable haha! the first time i watched mr queen, i stayed up a whole night and day for it. couldn't sleep, couldn't work, couldn't do anything else but binge it. it was addictive indeed. Do watch the special eps Mr Queen: The Bamboo Forest if you haven't watched that yet (it's on Viki)
i enjoyed the first ep a lot 🥺 it's my kinda drama. i hope this one will soothe the pain You and Everything Else gave me lol.
The 80s setting and the intro were wonderful. Girl friendships are the best, i just wanna see it through with no toxicity to the end. Also, Lee Won Jung is a real looker ugh. maybe we will get two couples instead of a love triangle lol. I wish!
I love melodramas but I had to drop this one😭 and skip to the end.Binge watching is a bad idea, it sucks out…
I'm at the same stage at ep6 now 🥲 it's frustrating especially when you know the next part is emotional cheating. i hate the thought of seeing eunjung suffer 🥲 when she has been nothing but sweet and kind
Unrelated but isn't it more profitable for netflix to not dump full length dramas all at once like this when dramas…
exactly. we got wlgt split into 4 parts, idk why they couldnt have done the same here.
the larger part of the audience would get tired halfway through for a story like this. better to have the hype and discourse going for longer, hence pushing more people to watch or give it a try.
with melos, especially depressing ones like these, the fate of the drama is often decided as early as the first day or release, when the initial reviews drop. spoilers are up the second day of release and the fate of the drama is sealed. 🥲
