in all seriousness, what difference does the poster make? I’m really interested.
Twinkling Watermelon also had a childish vibes, but the drama was very good. Let's not judge the book by its cover. If people are interested they will search for informations about the story even with a "childish" poster. Also, isn't it better a "bad" poster but a good story, instead of a good poster but a bad and poorly written story?
I haven't read the whole webtoon, but I did read some chapters and especially I watched the drawings of the characters. I feel like Suzy and Seon Ho doesn't really fit them... Of course, we will see once the drama will be out, but I think Han So Hee and Ryu Jun-yeol were perfect. It's a shame that they rejected this project, just because of the mess that happened.
Agree. I also hate when they drink so much that they get drunk. Can't they solve their problems using the brain?…
The thing I hate the most is that they don't say anything about drinking, but they basically end the career and the life of actors and idols if they use other substances or they smoke. Idk, I think it’s very hypocrite from them. I know kdramas aren't reality, but I feel like many koreans really do drink a lot. If it's something they show in every kdrama, it has to be real.
"He spreads awareness that alcohol can ruin life"Someone tell me im not dreaming, IS THIS FOR REAL??? a KDRAMA…
Agree. I also hate when they drink so much that they get drunk. Can't they solve their problems using the brain? Or talking heart to heart with the other person? Idk, it's uncomfortable to watch them drink so much... drinking may ease their minds only momentarily, but the next day, the problem is still there.
My Dearest was a masterpiece. I would love to lose my memory just to watch it again 😭
I have to agree with this. I found the second part lesse appealing, compare to the first part. Or was so long, and some parts bored me a bit. But overall, the story, the characters development, the acting, the cinematography, the OST... if I put all of them together, I think it’s one of the best kdrama ever made. Of course, perfection doesn't exist, and even the most beautiful dramas have their flaws, but looking at the bigger picture, we can say that they are still amazing
Death's Game [parts 1+2] was also a masterpiece. So spiritually mature; the ending is sublime.
I watched Death's Game, too. And I agree. At first, when I saw the trailer, I thought it was top violent, but while watching it I realize it wasn't as violent as the trailer made it look. Also, the Message of the drama were amazing
While everyone is losing interest in Korean dramas, I am losing interest in Chinese dramas...
Honestly I never had Interest in chinese dramas... I tried to watch them, but there's something about their acting that doesn't hit me in the feels. Also, they are veeery long. I think 16 episodes of kdramas, are a lot, but chinese ones have 40 or 50... that's too much for me. But that's ok. Everyone has the right to like or dislike something. The fact that some people don't like to watch kdramas doesn't make them ugly, and the fact that some don't like cdramas (or jdramas) doesn't make them less worthy. I just can't stand when some people feel the need to attack you just because you don't like something they like. 🙄
I agree with everything. Honestly, I am not very happy that kdramas are becoming more famous, because it's inevitable that, to satisfy western people, they will take away the nature of kdramas to give them what they want. I started watching kdramas because they were a breath of fresh air. No violenze, no drugs, no sex etc. which were basically the things I hated in western products. But, Netflix and other platforms, are taking away the charm of kdramas by putting inside things that we are used to watch in western products (more violence, nudity, etc.) Especially in Netflix originals. There are very few original products that I enjoyed (like Daily Dose of Sunshine and A Time Called You). I read the plots and wasn't even interested in most of them, and the ones I would give a chance, I had to drop them (I dropped Mask Girl after 2 episodes and Worst of Evil after 5. Too much violence). I also think that producers are more interested in having good looking actors more than having a good plot, and that's something I hate. I watch a drama for the story, first. Then, if there are cute or very famous actors, it's a plus. But even if the cast is full of rookies that I have never seen before, it's ok anyway. I value more the story and what it can leave inside my heart, the life lessons I can keep with me for the rest of my life. That's because I love slice of life stories so much, which is my #1 fav genre. I also really enjoy historical and thriller. Korean thrillers are so good (I recently finished Beyond Evil and I'm still obsessed). There's something about them that western products will never have. I also don't dislike webtoons getting adapted. There are some stories that are soooo good and deserve to get a kdrama. But producers keep making the same stories, all over again, and it's becoming tiring. Like romcoms, who are basically the copy of the previous ones. For example, I couldn't continue with King the Land. Too many cliché and the story is the same of many other dramas, so it was nothing new. But there was Lee Jun Ho, so people would watch it. Same with Queen of Tears and Lovely Runner. I keep seeing people praising them as masterpieces, but I didn't really enjoyed them. Queen of tears had a beautiful cinematography and amazing OSTs, and the actors were really good. But that's it. Same for Lovely Runner. A lot of cliché and things that didn't really have sense (like the man who wanted to kill her, because...? He had literally no good reason). Good OSTs, good acting, but there are a lot of kdramas that are better than those two. Dramas that are criminally underrated, maybe because they don't have top notch actors. I will never stop watching kdramas, I love them too much and I have a lot of old dramas to catch up with. But the more I watch them, the more I'm becoming very picky, especially with on airs.
Sorry for the long message, ahah. The things I wrote are just my PERSONAL opinion. So, if I "offended" your fav kdramas in any way, it was just what I thought while watching them. Just because I didn't find QoT and Lovely Runner the best kdramas of 2024, it doesn't mean they are not good. They can be good for someone and bad for someone else.
