Yup, it highlights the bigger power imbalance in this period too, women already don't have many rights, so it…
I am not really talking about overall population but more of who gets murdered due to gender related reasons.
Men kill women at a higher rate than woman killing men. Men killing men is a separate thing and not usually due to domestic reasons (more to do with war, money, power, etc.).
These cases we have where the men murdered women has been due to pregnancy/marriage (case 1), SA-related reasons (case 2), and misogyny (case 5).
damn this show has the most amount of killed females i ever saw in chinese drama
Yup, it highlights the bigger power imbalance in this period too, women already don't have many rights, so it makes them even easier victims.
People on C-social media did praise this drama for limiting the scenes of these victims being hurt. It instead flash onto the perpetrator's faces making ugly expressions a lot more. It shows a few seconds of the crime happening and then focuses a lot more on the perpetrators doing the deed. This drama is directed by a woman, so I think she gets it (long time complaint about crime dramas focusing on the pain of the female victims way too much aka almost making it into entertainment).
Call me insane but it always gets me when I hear the good people go like, “You would commit murder for this reason?” And the reason is like killing 13 young children from the age of 12-16, torturing them, SA one of the ladies, and all sort of other crimes…. Like yes I would commit murder too if they covered their crimes and nobody brought justice for the victims for more than 7 years. I’m not shocked that someone wanted justice! Especially if your mother and sister are involved. It’s not that crazy to me. The only time these people lose is when they kill innocent people to hide the fact they killed someone incredibly vicious and evil.
So we have a new interesting case on our hand, we just arrived into this village but I think I already know how the killer is. It's the doctor, the senior and the reason why he is doing this is because of his wife. He needs to find a cure for her or she gets to live longer by having all these people killed. The brother in law could be an accomplice but let's see how this will go. Although I'll say, I like how Wan is contemplating when Yan will reach her because she needs his support as much as he needs hers. And he is the only person she can rely on.
The director should be a politician, in fact he's too good to be a politician, he's a diplomat. He avoided commenting on her acting skills with great artistry, we hear you Mr Director.
That’s why I am always wondering if my Viki subscription is even worth it 🙄 always so damn slow
Especially those series that came out 3 to 4 ago and they final got the licenses for it and they give it to you in piece meal instead of all at once.🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
