Good Grief

My main gripe here is characters suddenly acting out of character and ML forgetting their experiences together and his own promises. I saw this edict thing going to be a problem from a mile away, but they blew it out of proportions.

Def should have been a better way to create conflict. Don't even need to go far for an example, FL's previous drama had a well designed spat - both characters acting in character, both having their own reasonable truth, can sympathize with both to a varying degree.

I realized at the end it was tying into the plot, since the divorce and him going up the mountain to get her reveals the truth of linshan. I'm still vexed though.

HE. But this drama doesn't follow the novel, so anything goes.

They cough blood there from basically anything, it really is dumb in this day and age. But gotta close your eyes on this, just like on acupuncture.

I swear the production budget for these dramas is 10% wardrobe, 10% actors, and 80% fake blood packets just waiting for someone’s feelings to get hurt.

Chinese writers love this coughing up blood trope. In my forty decades on earth I have never seen blood coughing in real life, but it happens to multiple characters in every Chinese drama I watch. Now they are even coughing blood from emotional damage!

And a waste of screen time in general.

Exactly, "need a dumb separation" button, hit it without trying to make it at least seem logical.

I don't think there is any past connection here con he said "you changed a lot" he meant you attitude changed after knowing he is her senior.
Him liking her so fast is coz his type is "person who is good at work".

Yea, it's especially prevalent in historical cdamas. Anything from stress, to poison - vomit buckets of blood.

A’Li was left alone in the mountains and her coping mechanism was the imaginary people who helped her survive the harsh mountain and also her loneliness.
and the revenge that drove her! can’t wait to know what really happened on the LI mountain.

my thing is…how can he really be mad at her like that ?!?!? it’s doesn’t make sense. she was a child and he himself knows how it feels/is to be powerless against ppl with power. her mom literally lost her life trying to save her brother. her own trauma is bc of YOUR family!
