Of course people are capable of caring about more than one thing, but context matters. My point was that while China is facing a real tragedy and loss, some netizens chose to focus their energy on a fictional drama instead. That’s what I found frustrating. I didn’t say all Chinese people are dumb — I said those specific complaints were dumb. Academic competitions don’t really change that; online outrage over fiction while real issues are happening is still misplaced. I was criticizing the behavior, not an entire population. This is about priorities, not intelligence contests.

Chinese nitezen's that complained about this k-drama has to be the dumbest people on earth. China just lost a great actor Yu Menglong in the most heartbreaking way, and they are complaining about a fiction drama? Their gavornments are trying their hardest to cover everything up, and their dumb people are making things easier sadly.

Don't waste your time with this fool. They and aska are just a bunch of communist-wannabes who didn't even watch the show, but are acting as if they're experts on the South Korea-China relations. They're just blindly copying what some Chinese netizens are saying without a clue as to what the actual situation is.

What's hilarious is that the Chinese people had to either use VPN to bypass the CCP restrictions (which is illegal), or watch it on a pirated site (also illegal). So, imagine how stupid they look when they exposed themselves for watching foreign shows through illegal methods.

As far as I can tell, neither actually, at least legally. She's the daughter of a previous relationship of an unnamed lady Hae's dad was with and then she disappeared leaving her daughter with Hae's dad. They weren't married or anything so legally they are nothing, at least at the start. I'm guessing Hae legally made himself her guardian at some point though, but that wasn't shown

Not every story I just want to see Shin Ye Eun in a historical romance...why generalize my comment?? I am stating my opinion regarding something that doesn't mean I am forcing that viewpoint on other people.

I'm impressed by the quality of the foreign actors. A lot of times in k-dramas it just feels like they pulled a random [white] person off the streets. This feels a little more thought went into the casting.

Only and only Kdrama fans expect a romance, kiss, happily ever after with kids in a top political, espionage drama. 😂😂😂😂😂

yea my country too gets mocked. its always portrayed as a go-to by korean criminals or losers, but do we mind? its even interesting because the one thats mocked more are their fellow koreans who live and study here lol

I haven't seen 'Tempest' but I have seen 'Bon Appetit...' and OMG people its a drama for entertainment purposes people, stop taking everything like its a personal attack. My country gets mocked all the time but I don't go into a full on meltdown about it because its for laughs or entertainment or whatever, it doesn't bother me. Can we lighten up.

It doesn't. The two leads are almost of the same age. The romance is intense and they have great chemistry. Nothing whatever the above comment said is in it.

At this point with only two episodes left, I’m officially done with theories, like my brain cells refuse to play detective anymore. No more trying to connect corkboard strings and spy footage, I’m just here for the ride, popcorn in hand, waiting to see how wild they go in the finale. Call it survival mode, less overthinking, more vibing.
