I watched this some time ago and just decided to write a little review about it: some parts of the plot were a little rushed or confusing to me, and that ending? What both of them died stabbing each other, the classic 'they both died loving each other' and then the reincarnation. Like I'm not that kind of watcher. I enjoy the slightly more grounded ending, not the 'plunge you into sadness then say they somehow reincarnated for some random reason'. The storyline is alright, and the emotions portrayed are alright too. Overall, it's a solid 6.5 for me. (Ignore my rating for music, unless it's really good I just put a two for everything) Was this review helpful to you?

idk really vague story
Just as a side note: I love skiing. Every winter I go skiing in various resorts, and have never snowboarded in my life. Idk, maybe I'm petty or annoying but the mistranslation of Ski into Love triggered me big time. I understand how it happened, witch chinese not having a direct distinction between skiing and snowboarding, but it still annoyed me for some reason. However moving on from my little peeve, the acting overall was quite good, Yu Shuxin and Lin Yi did good together (no wonder Esther is called the Chemistry Queen), the storyline was alright, the bestie (Zeng Keni/Jenny Zeng) finally gave some good advice, and all in all it was ok. This one was just not my cup of tea though. (Ignore my rating for music, unless it's really good I just put a two for everything)Was this review helpful to you?
The worst drama I have ever watched
Probably and extremely unpopular opinion judging from the 8.4 rating overall, but. I hated it. I was excited to watch it in the beginning, it having been recommended to me, but I guess this is an example of when opinions differ. In the beginning, it was ok, but when reaching around episode 18? Something happened, idk what, but my desire to keep watching just literally hit the brakes and stopped. I only finished watching for the sake of finishing it. It was literal torture, pushing through those last few episodes on 2x speed hoping to hurry the process up. There is no plot. Literally. Fei Xing and Lin Yi did well as the actors, but it was just not it. Idk what people see in this. It was like medieval torture watching the whole thing. Situ Mo and Gu Weiyi had an alright relationship in the beginning, and I don't know what went wrong after that though. My interest just dried out. Just a plain no from me. OK WHAT. This shocked me. I was not expecting this show to be this good. I watched it bc it was one of Bai Lu's highest rated shows and a new 2025 one and didn't expect anything out of the ordinary. But this literally almost deserves a 10. If I could rate it somewhere between 9.5 and 10 I would. But literally, Moonlight Mystique is amazing. Idk where they got that flowery extravagant name from which made me have a little speculation about the show, but it did not mean anything bad. Thankfully. Everything in this show is basically perfect. I thought Fan Yue (Ao Ruipeng) would stay dead and leave Bai Shuo (Bai Lu) to live her life alone in a cottage, but he returned as a real person at least, not a random ahh vision who appears under a tree shrouded in light. At least we get clarification that he's real unlike so many other xianxia dramas that have made me suffer through that typical "died and mysteriously appeared again" endings. The ending of a drama is really important for me tho idk why, but for this drama specifically was maily bc I lowk just needed closure after both Fu Ling/Bai Xi (Dai Luwa) and Chong Zhao (Chang Huasen) died painful deaths and I was expecting Bai Lu to kill her man to save the world which is not something she hasn't done before (cough cough TTEOTM), but Moonlight Mystique is genuinely good. There's no unnecessary drama between the two, the feelings get acknowledged, and the development between both main couples is well thought out. Shoutout to Tian Huo (Zhang Xin) who is dead, and the two ppl who liked her: Cang Shan (Cheng Tao) who is dead too and Mu Jiu (Chen Hongxin) who is dead three. Everyone close to the main couple are all dead. And that 1000 year turtle. Which I lowkey felt bad about. But overall, 100% recommend this show, go watch it now, it's really great. True Beauty is one of those really good kdramas where there is a love triangle that ends well. I'm personally not a fan of a main love triangle, but this time it did not disappoint. Moon Ga-young, Cha Eun-woo and Hwang In-youp were all perfect in their roles. I liked how despite Lim Ju-gyung's looks, Lee Su-ho still liked her from the start. As the only one who had seen her real face, he was the only one who liked her as a real person from the beginning. Han Seo-jun liked Ju-gyung at first mainly because Su-ho liked her, she was pretty and popular. I feel like in the beginning Seo-jun didn't really like her, it just developed into real feelings along the way of mocking Su-ho. Although when Ju-gyung's face was revealed he didn't stop liking her which was a shock to me. This shows he genuinely liked her and made me feel a little bad when she ended up with Su-ho instead. However, what made this really good, is that the ending did't upset me at all. Seo-jun accepted losing her as a love and having her as a friend instead, and all the loose ends were tied up as well. Ju-gyung and Su-ho were together, Seo-jun made peace with that, and even Kang Soo-jin was forgiven. I thought I would never forgive her for what she did, but somehow when the time came, I did. Well that's how this drama shaped me. 100% recommend. Go watch it. (Ignore my rating for music, unless it's really good I just put a two for everything) Was this review helpful to you?

I feel like I'm in the minority once more with this one, seeing it as an 8.7 overall from yall which is lowkey impressive but just a 7.5 from me. Now let me explain. The casting ate, no doubt. The chemistry was chemistrying with Zhang Linghe and Xu Ruohan. As a little summary: The cast casted. The chemistry chemistried. The characters charactered. The visuals visualed. The acting acted. The emotions emotioned. But the story did not story. Everything was amazing, the casting, the acting, the production: the only thing that let me down was the plot. It was alright in the beginning, but started blanding out during the middle, picked up the pace again and then lost the pace again. Some episodes were unnecessary and although 28 episodes is little in the cdrama industry, I feel like it was too much. The plot was flat, with no drama whatsoever except a little when the ex jumps in and maybe when Shen Xifan decides to go to Switzerland and maybe when a little drama between her and He Suye develops. The ending was satisfactory with their marriage and the loose ends tied up (i love it when that happens, when there are no cliffhangers or reappearances of dead characters) All in all: too long for a story like this, had to force myself to finish watching it. Plot really too plain for me, nothing really happening most of the time. Watching it feels like I haven't watched it. Not as bad as some, therefore the 7.5 but could be improved. If you like simple romances, should watch, but if you're like me and don't, stay away. It will bore you to death. (p.s just my opinion, if you like light dramas watch it, you will probably enjoy it. :) (Ignore my rating for music, unless it's really good I just put a two for everything) Was this review helpful to you?

Idk what everyone is on about in the reviews section. Honestly it wasn't that bad for me. The teacher-student relationship was a little out of hand, and the ending with Jeong Jae-I not choosing either Kang Ha or Kim Ri-An was a little disappointing, I expected her to make a choice to stay with one or the other. The visuals of the cast were honestly quite good. They all did a really good job with some really great shots of the scenes as well. A little thing is that it ended with such a huge cliffhanger. And as someone who hates cliffhangers, this put a little annoyance into my mind. With no Season 2 or continuation, I feel like the ending was unsatisfactory with not all the strings tied up and conflicts resolved. All in all, I don't think it's as bad as all the reviews are saying it is, but after all this is just my opinion. very different from other cdramas
ok wtf someone actually kill me now help!!?!!?! just finished watching guardians of the dafeng and am absolutely shooketh. If you maybe have read any of my other reviews, you should know that I despise open endings/cliffhangers. Despise. So WTF WAS THAT ENDING?? NO SEASON 2 IN SIGHT, NO CLARIFICATION OF WHATS TO COME, EVERYONE FORGOT HIM, EVIL SMOKY DUDE WAS HIS DAD, POOR PRINCESS LIN AN, HELP ME ACTUALLY WTF. Ok, back to a more calm mindset, this was fantastic. Many episodes were so hilarious, haven't watched a cdrama that could make me laugh out loud ever (except for Exclusive Fairytale) so that was refreshing. Everything was amazing, the Guardians, the plot, the cast, the actors did really well in portraying their characters. If you know me you should know an ending is extremely important in a drama to me, and this ending was not it. Nobody remembered him. He was wiped from history. His story with Lin An (Tian Xiwei) is not concluded, his family, his role in the Guardians, his role in the Realm Sect, his role everywhere. There is no more Xu Qi An (Wang Hedi/Dylan) in the world. Then it leaves us on a gigantic cliffhanger. REALLY NOW. THIS IS THE BEST YOU COULD GIVE. Am literally pleading for a season 2 just like I am for My Journey to You but knowing cdramas this plea is probably going to go unnoticed. I have yet to watch a cdrama with more than one season, albeit some colossal open endings and cliffhangers. YOU BROUGHT US THIS FAR AND JUST DROPPED US ON THE EDGE OF A CLIFF LITERALLY. ANYWAYS, apart from that ending, everything is great. I really recommend watching, it's very good and it gives you a nice laugh. 100% great (EXCEPT FOR THAT STUPID ENDING) but if you are ok with that you should go watch it immediately right this moment. Was this review helpful to you?

ok wow. that was intense af. looking back at it, the main reason i watched it was bc of bai lu my queen (istg none of her dramas are bad bad) but the whole main cast is familiar to me e.g. Wang Xingyue and Liu Xiening from Perfect Match. at the beginning, i felt like the relationship between Jiang Xuening (Bai Lu) and Xie Wei (Zhang Linghe) was literally never going to start, and when it did, it was giving very very large red flag ahh toxic relationship. But ig when they both gave in it was nice to see the peace between the all the characters and especially Yan Lin (Zhou Jun Wei) not becoming a villan out of jealousy. Also, the fact that not everyone except for one died in the end was a nice touch when it comes to ancient chinese dramas, quite a shock overcame me when I realized that not everyone in the main cast was corpseified. The ending was very satisfying to me, no exclusive deaths, no cliffhangers, no mysterious reincarnation, just a happy ending with all the ends wrapped up. I was so into it I forgot it was just a reflection of the "real world" lmao. Anyways, a solid 9/10 from me. Bai Lu is amazing. (p.s. through this drama i realized Zhang Linghe really has a sharp ahh jawline, never noticed that before) (p.p.s papa xie wei is a menace to that son of his. ahhhh jealousy....) this review reveals the ending (ish) of my journey to you so if you are watching that stay away
Ok after seeing some other reviews I seem to be in the minority who gave this show a 9.5 where the others I'm seeing average a seven. Oops I guess? Idk why they didn't like it, but for me it was great. After seeing Liu Xueyi in Kill Me Love Me and am planning to watch Blossom after, including Meng Ziyi, I thought why not? Plus, this was recommended to me by someone. I usually stay away from shows rated below an 8 on MDL, having faced too many disappointments (cough cough Everyone Loves Me, Ski into Love) but this was a real shock to me. I loved the relationship between Shen Zaiye and Jiang Taohua, and how well both of them clicked. The only thing I was worried about was the ending. Everything was going all well until episode 34 where I realized that rat of an empress wasn't dead and started worrying about the ending. I hate those mysterious ahh "open endings" aka humungous cliffhangers, e.g. the male lead is in despair as the FL sees her twin along with a faceless black clothed figure and gives no explanation whatsoever and ends the show with no season 2 in sight (yes i'm still mad, cough cough My Journey to You) but luckily it was solid. However, when bro appeared next to her at the end: was that a vision or reality bc help tf? But at least my bro didn't die and mysteriously reappear in the last 5 secs of the last episode like I've seen so many do. At least there's a possibility they got their happy ending. Really good, I recommend. (p.s. do you not think Gao Han and Bian Cheng literally look like twins. They literally are true dopplegangers, if you told me they were real twins I would believe you)Was this review helpful to you?

love it sm
Ahhhhh Zhao Lusi and Yangyang did so well tgt. The acting, the plot, everything was so on point. The steady romance of Hei Fengxi and Bai Fengxi hooked me from the beginning, along with both of them having hidden identities as royalty. This was one of my firt classical cdramas, so in the beginning I was confused how they got away with it until I realized they had no Google or internet or anything and could just pass looking like anyone. It took a while to get used to this, but the fact that both the leads had amazing martial arts skills was a plus for me. Most of the time it's the male who possesses these abilities, and having both of them being the top of the spectrum was really refreshing to me. The only little section that triggered me was the ending with Hei Fengxi having only 10 years left to live was a little forced. Idk, I just feel like it wasn't really necessary. But overall I would DEFINITELY recommend to anyone who hasn't watched it yet, it's amazing. Was this review helpful to you?

i was literally so triggered by that
I AM SO PISSED RN!!! I just finished watching My Journey to You. I died at that ending. I wanted to unalive myself. WTF WAS THAT OPEN AHH ENDING?? I HATE OPEN CLIFFHANGER ENDINGS WITH NO SEASON 2 IN SIGHT. WHAT THE HAIL. WHO WAS THAT FREAKY MASKED PERSON AND THE DUDE IN HER TWINS HOUSE?? AND WHY DID THEY NOT GET THEIR HAPPY ENDING??? Gong Ziyu (Zhang Linghe) was miserable in the end. TF??? This drama. Is. A. Menace. I am so mad. WHAT IN THE BLEEP WAS THAT ENDING?!?!?!? Ok calming myself down. Let's put the ending aside. The story was top notch. The details in the plot, the humungous plot twists, the detailed ahh plans, everything was performed in a way that actually made logical sense which I love. The story was amazing. The main couple of Ziyu and Yun Weishan (Yu Shuxin/Esther) was amazing. All the other couples were amazing. Just wanna highlight Gong Shangjue (Cheng Lei/Ryan) and Shangguan Qian (Lu Yuxiao)'s relationship. It was honestly so toxic and full of red flags, but somehow lowkey I ship bro. Idk what she said about the pregnancy was real, but they ended up separated when they really actually did like each other. I was disappointed with their ending though but I can accept that. THE ONLY BAD THING THAT LOWERED THIS SCORE FROM A 9.5 TO A 9 WAS THAT MANKY AHH ENDING LIKE IDK IF IT BOTHERS YOU AND YOU MIGHT BE OK W IT BUT I AM NOT OKAY AT ALL. I need a calm peaceful "word" with the director. In private. (p.s. if you like using the 5 sec button to skip like me, you might not understand the whole thing fully. I had to go back sometimes to fully get the meaning.) (Ignore my rating for music, unless it's really good I just put a two for everything)Was this review helpful to you?
