Just starting this who and episode 1 is BAD. But I'm gonna push through least one more since the comments here insists it gets better after the first episode.
The first half has so much promise. So far the second half is a real slog to get through. A lot of these reviews are being VERY GENEROUS. But I'm gonna see this through to the final episode.
Last episode and I'm not sure I can finish this series. What is wrong with the people writing these things? No…
The bad/irresponsible writing is really a shame because the actors are doing a FANTASTIC job. I just honestly don't care about either of them anymore. Tutor was wrong. Fighter was REALLY wrong. Now I don't care..
Last episode and I'm not sure I can finish this series. What is wrong with the people writing these things? No means no. It is not sexy. It is not romantic. You can't do that and then expect me to root for someone.
I had to start skipping through the ZonSaifah scenes around episode 7 just to try to make it through to the end. Its a real struggle for me to watch them. Which is sad... the actor playing Zon is doing a pretty good job, he's super likeable. But... I can't force myself to struggle through Saifah. And I don't buy Zon and Saifah falling for each other even a little.
I agree with most of the other reviews... The story/plot was almost non-existent. But it easily keep me watching. Sometimes it's enough just to put two likeable people together and have them do stuff.
Also, like most of the other reviews, I had serious issues with the friends. The biggest issue was the ****ing Bbomb. But that certainly wasn't the only issue.
Lastly, I haven't been THIS let down by a side couple since PremWad (#ImStillMad). Not quite as pointless as the side couples in Ai Long Nhai... But close.
Every time I read some of these comments I can't help but think that a lot of people who complain didn't even watch the show. Because their complaints just don't make sense or are completely different to what happened.
Word of advice... Just go in with an open mind and watch for yourself. It's a great show. But it was also made way before all of the modern tropes codified (a lot of the tropes actually started with this show). So this show was A LOT more concerned with telling a cohesive story than female titillation.
Watching now. Its a struggle to get through the ZonSaifah scenes... I like Zon, however, I don't really like Saifah. I HATE Zol and her entire plot. I basically hate everyone they surrounded Zon with. Which is unfortunate.
I'm more drawn to the TutorFighter scenes. I'm basically only watching the series for them at this point. Maybe, also, to see what happens with the side couples. Unless they really try to make BlueDew happen...eww.
First let me say that I love my fluff. So despite what some people are going to assume. that's not the issue here.
I just finished episode 5 and it was a struggle. I'm hating this series. Mostly, I hate Ai and Nhai, individually and paired. I don't buy that either of them has any genuine interest in the other. MAYBE they're in it for the money and/or sex. Which is valid. But I still don't buy it. Nhai is HELLA annoying. But Ai is also pretty irritating I'm his own way too. Their friends are soggy toast and don't really add anything. Would have been better to set this series during a summer break or something and spend more time with Ai's dads and Sweetie instead of the friend group.

And no... Hazing is certainly not just an American thing. There were institutions in other other countries hazing newbies before USAmerica existed. 😂

Think I'm adding this to the DNF pile...
