I haven't watched the show yet.. But as far as all the comments about the cast not being "hot" or "good looking". From the trailer they seem like pretty attractive people. You're all probably just not used to seeing people in BL shows without a filter applied.
Soooo... no one in the comments in going to talk about the scene depicting violent rape of child in the first 2.5 minutes that was played for laughs? That just another "cute scene"? This is why they hate us. I can't even finish watching this I'm so mad at this comment section.
While the show isn't really anything special... it also isn't nearly as bad as some of the reviewers would have you think. It comes together towards the end if you can just get past the initial awkwardness.
Uhg... Kleun is on that driving me f-ing crazy train.
All done. Final verdict? I did complain a lot (the stupidity was getting on my every nerved!) However, it really wasn't all that bad. Had cute parts. I liked the side cast. Really would have enjoyed more of them. I have no regrets watching this.
Uhg... Kleun is on that driving me f-ing crazy train.
Episode 6... Why am I doing this to myself? I'll forgive Kluen cause he may actually have a social disorder the way he is written. Dao on the other hand? I don't understand why anyone other than Dr. Fah and Kluen's mom enjoy being around him. He is EXHUASTING.
I fee like I am watching some weird watered-down combination of SOTUS + Dark Blue Kiss + 2gether. But like... if you got rid of the most interesting parts of each of those series and forgot to replace it with anything.
I accidentally watched the sequel series first so I know how the story ends. And that is the only thing keeping me watching. I want to see how they get to that point. But right now (episode 5) Dao is driving me CRAZY.
Can anyone recommend a similar drama in regards to dynamic?
I'm only on episode 5... but I feel like this is the exact same dynamic as every other GMMTV BL pair. Basically, take equal parts Khong/Arthit, Pete/Kao and Sarawat/Tine... and you have this series.
Its cute... it doesn't always make sense...but its cute. Episode 8 was the most frustrating for so many reasons. Its not high art by a long shot. But if you give it a shot I think you'll be happy you watched it.
This was cute, though I'm not really a fan of... what should we call it... anthropomorphized animals as lovers.…
To be fair... they didn't change the rules. Milk kept saying if they left on time then they could see Jungwoo again. But if not then they would disappear. Jungwoo assumed that meant they would watch him from heaven. But the end makes it clear that Milk meant they could come back. Also, before Milk leaves he says, "I'm not coming back now." Which implies that earlier he'd planned to come back but changed mind after his litter outburst.
Anywho... I did think Jungwoo romancing his dog was weird. I was less weirded out by Uncle and Milk... 1) It was made clear by Jungwoo that Milk had become more human than Choco, and you'll notice Milk stopped acting so cat like as the show progressed. Also, 2) Uncle never knew Milk as a cat. (Well, he probably did. But he's not aware its the same creature and Milk doesn't seem to remember him, oddly.)
Probably an unpopular opinion, but I preferred the Ep 10 ending better. Ep 11 definitely felt a bit tacked on…
In a vacuum, I liked episode 10 and I can see why people think it would have made a better ending. But, honestly, if I just felt like episode 10 was a whole waste of time as I was watching it. By the time we got there the show had made it SO clear that the pets were coming back. I didn't understand why we were wasting all that time with sad goodbyes and emo shots when it was telegraphed so many times that they were coming back.
Even at the very end of the series they hint that the pets find a way to either visit more often OR a way to stay permanently.
Pros: It's short It's pretty No Love Triangle (I'm also personally glad it wasn't poly...but that's just me.)
Cons: Basically, everything else It's rushed but also very slow...somehow It's nonsensical Its not quite a fairy tale or fable (which is what it was probably trying to be) but it's definitely not a fleshed out story either. No story arc at all Flimsy motivations Art Gallery Lady
I really liked their chemistry and the pairing as such. But god, can we please stop with the "I have to leave…
I completely agree with you! I absolutely hate when the writers separate the characters at the end of the series for an absurdly long period of time.
It didn't bother me when SOTUS did it in the second season. But by then Kong and Arthit had been together for years. Arthit flew to Japan with Kong to drop him off. They showed us that the guys were video chatting every day. And they showed us their warm reunion.
However, in Tale of a Thousand Stars... we finally get the confession RIGHT before they separate for YEARS. And then we are shown the guys did not keep in touch AT ALL. That's crazy. Tian comes back. They kiss and show over. Thanks.
I'm thinking maybe it is a cultural difference thing...I'm guessing this idea of your love enduring even when you cannot be together, or communicate in anyway is supposed to be really romantic. Just once I would like a BL that has one of the characters coming back after their 2 years abroad and the series be about the 2 guys falling in love all over again.
