It's not anything out of the ordinary, and 8.0 is okay for this drama... I'm not sure why they chose to do it that way, but the ending definitely feels a bit rushed. They should really dive deeper and explain how that mythical plant is able to save him, and how he ends up with cat lord powers instead of just leaving an open for a 2nd season.

This is somewhat disappointing... Not that I'm saying it's bad or anything since it's a good drama with nice romance and chemistry. The thing is, when I watched the trailer back then, it seemed like it would be an action packed, badass drama, but now it feels like they put the least effort into the action scenes 🙁

I think you misunderstood me... I definitely prefer novels over this, but I'm not saying this is bad. Compared to many adaptations, I truly believe the person who stitched the story together did a fantastic job... But let's be real, no matter how great a drama is... If it ends on a cliffhanger without a new season, it's just a waste of time... A perfect example is Princess Agents (2017). I absolutely love it, but without a second season, it's just a waste of time. That's the reality of dramas. You could easily watch another one that actually has an ending without feeling frustrated at the end. I mean, there are tons of dramas released every day, you know... So when you pick one drama over another, everyone has some kind of expectations.

This is going to be such a waste of time because I'm pretty sure they will cliffhanger it when Hang Li hits the teleportation array... I really doubt there will be another season, as it just doesn't have the hype needed for a 2nd one.

I got really curious and ended up checking out the manga, and they made a lot of changes in the adaptation, so now I'm torn about which one I like better. Overall, the manga provides more insight into the scenes, which makes sense in certain scenes in drama, like why nobody noticed a well known grandmaster walking into this hidden area while other grandmasters are sitting on their ass and watching it.

That's why in xuanhuan stories, they really cherish children or have them before reaching a high level of cultivation. From what I can tell, it looks like they just came to an agreement that ticked off the third party, leading to an attack. They blew it up into a war, thinking it wouldn't be a big deal since they had Qiao backing them. But as it escalated and became critical, Qiao bailed and left Weis to face the consequences... honestly, that's even worse than getting taken out by the third party, you know?

Honestly, this is some next level ultra nonsense pro max. The drama was alright until episode 30, but after that, it's just wild... the writer definitely has some strange fetish for sure. I hope at least they manage to recoup their expenses, I mean, even the cat and dog character must have cost a pretty penny.

Honestly, I feel like Netflix should just give up on making dramas with seasons. Every second season just doesn't live up to the hype of the first one.
