Well, people are fighting here because they do not agree if it is a gay story or not. For me it is explicitly gay. If they were a boy and a girl no one would say it was not a romantic story. The plot is all about finding each other to be together. What they pretty did at the end. I also considered it a very happy ending. Maybe people wanted a sex scene or something for masturbating reasons, but the movie is about searching for each other and helping each other to live. They found each other and they saved each other's life at the end. There is no censorship here. The story simply ended before they had intimacy because the plot was not related to that. They are not exactly discovering/exploring their sexuality, they are on a search to recognize each other. The story ended when this happened.
The irony is that K-Pop and Evangelical Churches are, suposedly, much more "americanized" than anything. Are you against them too? They are all over South Korea!
Where did you see any news about the Thai police attacking LGBTQIA+ members? Maybe there are problems with Transgender…
Yes, my conscience makes me sleep peacefully here in Thailand, where I have lived for almost 6 years as a gay man. One of the best countries in the world to be an LGBTQIA+. And I have been to many countries. Thailand is much better than my home country, Brazil, which is not at all "liberal" as you said. When it comes to sexual diversity, Thailand is more liberal than any country in Latin America. Almost everything you wrote about Thailand is a bunch of random information with no context and no real first hand experience. You don't know the real Thailand. You don't know what it's like to be a gay man here like I do. You spread lies and falsehoods, generalizations and nonsense. You lied about Buddhism not accepting LGBTQIA+, when I see gays and lesbians in Buddhist temples all the time. I myself go to Buddhist temples here with my boyfriend. The fact that some people have a conservative religious view on being homosexual does not mean that this view is dominant in society. You also lied about Thailand not discussing marriage equality (when marriage equality has already been approved, since it had been under discussion for years). You lied also about Thai society being super conservative towards LGBTQIA+ people, when only Muslims were against the approval of same-sex marriage, for example. Even the political parties controlled by the military voted in favor of LGBTQIA+ rights. You are completely ignorant about the real Thailand. You think you are super knowledgeable about a subject because you read some news and reports on the internet and you think you are a great expert about a country that you know nothing about. Thailand is not a paradise for LGBTQIA+ people. No country in the world is. But it is far from being the hell you described. It is not even that the data you released is wrong. It is that you do not know how to read and analyze it. You lack empirical knowledge about the country. And a little humility too.
Where did you see any news about the Thai police attacking LGBTQIA+ members? Maybe there are problems with Transgender…
No, not everything you said is true. There are many generalizations and you are still painting an exaggerated image. Homosexuality is not ilegal in Thailand since 1956. I don't know why you keep repeating it is ilegal. Maybe you are just crazy, i don't know. It is also false that there is no will to make Same sex marriage legal in Thailand. There is full support from both the government and most of the population. Not true also that " As a general rule, Thai society, the Buddhist religion and parents do not accept homosexuality of their members or their children." In this regard Thailand is not so different from many Western countries and Buddhism is not more intolerant than Christianity.
Look what you said here: "These may even be expelled from their homes. Students identified as LGBT+, the same ones represented in the majority of BL series, not only suffer from physical and verbal harassment by their classmates, under the complicit and permissive gaze of the school management and faculty. They are also discriminated against and excluded from society because of their sexual orientation. In Thailand there is institutionalized discrimination and clear exclusion against homosexuals. But this doesn't just happen in classrooms. It occurs throughout Thai society, even affecting them in the workplace and the media. Isn't it true that members of the LGBT+ community are discriminated against when they opt for a higher-ranking position at work? Isn't it true that despite having good skills and being suitable for the job, many workers do not accept that their boss is gay, transsexual or lesbian?"
Everything you said here applies to 95% of the countries in the world.
Thailand is not a super homophobic country. I am a gay men and I live here for 5 years. I am a teacher and I know Thai schools and Universities. You are repeating a lot of stupid things without any context. Thailand is far better for a gay men than my own Western country. LGBTQIA+ are far more respected at schools and universities here than most of the western countries I have been to. You think you are smart because you are looking information on Google. Read academic papers or come here. You are acting like a crazy person.
On the same day as the premiere of The Sign, after watching the first episode, I wrote in MDL: “I think it is…
Where did you see any news about the Thai police attacking LGBTQIA+ members? Maybe there are problems with Transgender people working as sex workers, but nothing so fierce as you suggest here. It is not true also that homosexuality is illegal in Thailand. You said that in the beginning of your text, then you contradicted yourself saying that homosexuality is not ilegal since 1956. Thailand is far better than many Western countries regarding LGBTQIA+ issues. Claiming that we are attacked in schools and workplaces is an exaggeration. Something like that can happen? Yes, but this also happens in Western countries. It is easier to be gay in Thailand than in most of Latin America, parts of the US and Europe. I live here for almost 5 years and I cannot complain.
It sucks! Let's start with the music choices and sound design. This problem sometimes occurs in other Thai series, but here things got out of hand. The music is always VERY loud and completely out of tune with the scenes. They decided to put on some songs that mix electronic beats and some rock n' roll guitar chords that DO NOT match what is happening at all. What do sex or masturbation scenes have to do with spy or mystery music? The sound design simply doesn't match the scenes. The songs have a lot of tension, without this being reflected in what the images show. They put on a random sex scene accompanied by music that was too loud (which gave me a headache) in order to force a dramatic situation that doesn't exist. I understand that music helps create drama and tension, but these elements also need to be built through the story, acting and direction. Here, that doesn't exist at all. The background sound bothered me so much that I turned down the volume and followed the final half of the episode just through the subtitles. Another problem is the excessive use of camera effects worthy of low-budget Indian soap operas. Every time a new handsome, shirtless character appears, the camera goes into slow-motion, and a bizarre soundtrack full of Shuaaaa sounds appears. Then the camera focuses several times on the character's body or face, while the slow motion footage and tension music that doesn't match the story continues. My god, how cheesy! The actors' performances are terrible. The boys' faces and mouths are VERY caricatured. The scenes and situations are completely unrealistic. No human being would behave that way in the real world. The masturbation scenes were embarrassingly over the top. It looked like they had severe diarrhea instead of being horny. I am really schocked how bad it is.
I used to like the series more in the first episodes. I still enjoyed it in general, but I didn't love it. I don't like Top and Mew at all. Top is kind of boring... and Mew became so arrogant and annoying after he was cheated by Top. I also think that Force's acting still needs to improve. When I rewatch this series I might skip their parts. Lol I fell sorry for Nick, I really wanted Nick and Boston to be together, but after Boston kissing Boeing I knew it was not possible anymore. That's a pity. Boston and Nick are still better to watch than Top and Mew. I also did not like how harsh they were to Boston. They treated him with a moral superiority that was annoying. Sand and Ray are together and this is the part I like. Ray was a difficult character for me to sympathize, but it was nice to see his development. Sand was my favorite character along with Nick. Do we have a second season?
I think the comments complaining about editions are so funny because I am from Brazil, where we have long soap operas. In this kind of show the script is changed all the time according to the audience's feedback. I am so used to that, I think this is quite normal. So, in my perspective, people are worried about a very small and silly thing hahahaaha This interview would be unnoticed by me if I haven't seen this comment section.
The only couple I would really love to see together is NickBoston, which might not happen due to their story development. The confession scene made me cry. Actually, they are the only ones who made me cry in this series. The first time was when Nick said he loved Boston and he replied: "I never loved you". Nick is my favorite character. He is such an adorable person. Everytime he shows up on the screen I start smiling. I cannot help it. I understand why people like SandRay, since the actors are doing great and Sand is a very charming character, but I still cannot like Ray. I think he is annoying. He doesn't seem to acknowledge his mistakes at all. He was with Mew and Sand at the same time but having no remorse. Even Top felt guilty for cheating on Mew, but Ray is remorseless. He is also quite annoying when he is drunk or high. I really hate him when he is not sober. Top and Mew are kind of plain to me. I don't hate them, but I don't love them also. But i hope Mew is happy at the end.
Ray is the most hypocritical character in the series. He cursed Top for cheating on Mew, but now he wants to be with Mew and Sand at the same time! At the same party he kissed both Mew and Sand and he doesn't seem to regret about it! Now he thinks he got Mew so he take both of them as granted! What an idiot!
Unpopular opinion: I don't like Ray. He drinks and becomes UNBEARABLE! The things he does and says while drinking are intolerable. There are people who think that cheating (like Top did) is the worst thing there is, but being a drunk scumbag goes beyond betrayal. What he did to Sand at the end of the previous episode was unacceptable. And everyone brushes it off because either the character is charismatic or because Khaothung is an amazing actor. But I'm already finding Ray inedible. In 7 episodes he hasn't evolved as a person at all. Even the boring Top is trying to improve as a person.

I think you are a bit confused.
