The story and main message in those dramas which you took as example are completely different. Oath of Love, as the name says it all, focuses on LOVE. Thus Yang Zi and Xiao Zhan had much time screen together. I just watched the drama up to eps 10+ where it focused more on her family story. And If you compare that part with BCE, I don't think the MLs' interaction up to that point is better. In Bai Lu case, do you see much CP feeling when they were in the training academy in Arsenal Military Academy? Actually in that drama, Xukai's character developed affection toward Bai Lu's character quite early; the male lead showed his raw feeling while there is not much visible affection from the FL. Don't see much difference when she looked at him and at the SML. And I think the information about genre for this drama is not precise. Ultimately, it is family or career genre, just brush of romance
