having a female character in a show automatically makes it romantic? such a terribly heteronormative ass take…
Again, there is no implication in the drama that the boys are gay. Period. That is why it is not logical to assume the boys are gay. If it were then the drama would be tagged as BL AND IT WOULD BE OBVIOUS TO THE WATCHERS THAT THE BOYS WERE HOMOSEXUAL. We would not have to dream up a homosexual relationship, we would not turn them gay just because we consider friendships "boring" (which honestly sounds like nonsense to me), we would not have to make someone helping another person with a helmet into a gay act. You have to see the nonsense in that. If not, I question your sanity. Just admit YOU WANT them to be gay and move on. Feel free to fantasize as you wish, but don't come on this this thread with your name-calling and contention because I AM FREE TO DISAGREE WITH YOU. The audacity! SMH!

I guess, in your delusional world everything is considered gay. Well, whatever floats your boat.

You see the BL, but there are plenty of others, like some folks commenting here that don't. A bit hypocritical to scold us for our views when there is no factual evidence to prove the boys are homosexual. There is more evidence to prove they are not. You can call names, if it makes you feel better. Doesn't bother me one bit. I just think you are delusional. Carry on if you can about your life being comfortable in your beliefs, then you should also be able to do the same living your life comfortably reading my opposing views.

Just because you find it fun to turn platonic *perhaps* hetero male relationships into homosexual relationships doesn't mean that I have to agree with you. As the matter of fact, I think it is absurd and proves you are dreaming up your own plot to fit your fantasies. It is delusional, in my opinion. Also, I can use the caps button to emphasize my points. Who are you to tell me I cannot or to attempt to scold me for it. Grow up. For the record, the creators of this story made no mention of the charaters being homosexual, and I can't find the homosexual connotation in their relationship, so I am simply going to use my common sense in believing they are simply friends. If you want to fantasize about them being homosexual then have at it. You are entitled to dream as you wish in this world. Have fun with it.

Title A Shop for Killers Spoiler
i would like to think he was always watching over her. so thats how he find her
Looks like I was right about the uncle allowing the girl to be traumatized to use her fear to force her to break out of her muteness. He pretty much admits it the first 10 mins of ep. 3. You people have to stop using surface level thinking when watching these broad-CAST “programs.”

I agree. The way they wrote Dilraba’s character was unfortunate. Changge is problematic in more ways than one.…
Well said. She wants to be badass, but she always needs to be protected and saved. Her true power is manipulation and she is subpar at everything else. If it weren’t for AS she’d never have made it to the end of the drama. She would have died in the first couple of episodes. SMH. Also, I hope I’m not the only one that recognized Changge’s inability to make good decisions and be astute makes her indirectly responsible for several deaths in this drama. I’ll name jus two people for now, A’Dou and Luo Yi. She was super annoying, but I’m thankful I can distinguish the amazing Dilraba from her problematic Changge character. She played the character well, which is probably a double edged sword. Lol

Good story centered around an IDIOT, I'm waiting for the next stupid thing she'll do.
I agree. The way they wrote Dilraba’s character was unfortunate. Changge is problematic in more ways than one. She is stubborn, bull-headed, and uncompromising. However flawed she was, the writers made up for with ZLS. She was amazing in this one. She made finishing the drama worthwhile. As much as I absolutely adore Wu Lei, he came off a bit robotic in most scenes, although there were several scenes where he was as amazing as he usually is in all of his dramas. Dilraba’s acting was great as usual, I just think her character was flawed, and the writers did her a disservice.

Just because you don’t understand the esoteric parts of the story doesn’t mean what I’m saying is a reach. Her uncle is dealing with some high level players and he has assets/people working under him that carry out missions. Some of them even do self-destruct programming if they are caught. The niece and her friend discuss that when they research the site her uncle ran in the dark web. She got some of the training from her uncle. We can even read that in the plot summary from this drama. It’s logical that he would train her because these people are taking out his family members, and I’m sure he’d want her to be able to protect herself. I’m waiting for more episodes to fill in the blanks though. Also, the comment section is for viewers opinions, so whatever I have to add is still valid. I’ve researched the topic I’m commenting about, perhaps you should look up trauma based programming WHICH ACTUALLY DOES EXIST before you write off what I am saying.

If he were always watching over her then he could have prevented it, the fact that he didn’t prevent it leaves me to believe he is her handler. She is going through trauma programming in her young age to carry out some kind of mission or training which is laying dormant in her until it’s necessary for her to use it.

Title A Shop for Killers Spoiler
I’m sorry, but the young lady was already severely traumatized in a matter of days when her parents were killed, then witnessing shootouts, and napping in a morgue with her dead mother to escape her would be killers, so when the little girl goes to live with her uncle she is then put into a further traumatizing and abusive situation, which the uncle tries to minimize by letting her know that he is not her parent. As if that makes the lack of care and nurturing of this traumatized adolescent ok. This little girl is going to be extra f’ed up as an adult. Looks like trauma programming and I’m now very interested in seeing the rest of the episodes. On another note: LDW’s character looks so sullen here. It’s breaking my heart. 💔

Oh, can anyone answer how her uncle knew to find her in the detached locked basement? Interesting that after *he met with her teacher stating she must overcome her issues on her own*, next scene she’s locked up by bullies, had a hallucination which forced her out of her muteness, then suddenly her uncle gets her out of the locked basement. Just think he doesn’t “rescue” her until she yells for him. Like he knew she’d be freaked out in that dark dungeon alone and eventually call out for him., therefore get over her mute state. Too convenient. Let’s see if he manipulates her throughout the drama.

YJG is great in historical dramas. He pulls me in and is very believable in all of his roles. I have a healthy admiration of actors who are able to pull off dual roles, like YJG did in Crowned Clown, so I may be a bit biased. I have to say though, I'm not a Lee Seung Gi fan either, so we can agree there. If you don't mind my recommending, please do check out Moon Embracing the Sun. The drama has a great cast...well with the exception of the adult female lead. It's a classic, imo.

Why you think so?
She has bipolar disorder, so id be interesting if he writers paired someone suffering from bipolar disorder with a person suffering as a schozophrenic. Does not seem likely, but perhaps it is a possibility.
