binge-watcher right here. I don't trust the internet to not have any technical difficulties while I watch, so 99% of the time I download all the dramas I want to watch on a removable storage drive. That way I can watch my dramas/movies anywhere and anytime I want without waiting for the video to load. It probably seems like a waste of time to most people having to download every single episode but I guess it depends on the download speed of your device. A 20 episode drama can take one to two days on my device to download, so I don't really mind watching any 40+ episode dramas. In fact, the longer the better. That way I don't have suffer through the regret phase in the life of a binge-watcher.
Okay, don't blame me if I do. Spoilers:1. Yu Hao is actually a Chinese Spy who goes under cover into the Japanese…
Wait really. Song Mian was secretly in love with Yan Zhi, I thought it was the other way around. Is it revealed after his death? I'm only on episode 35 rn.
As someone who hates love triangles with a passion (especially the ones where the ml is ambivalent about his/her feelings), do you think the terrible love triangle overpowers the humor?
I'm on episode 7 and still find the plot pretty boring. The male lead is too serious and so far I haven't seen anyone where anything that seems fashionable. In fact, the actors in Only Side By Side With You wore more stylish and fashionable clothing than the actors in Our Glamorous Time. Does the drama get more interesting later on? Does the male lead express more emotions other than being serious all the time? Should I continue watching?
The only similarity that both dramas kinda share is the relationship between an older lady woman who has a strong hold over the main lead. In the K2, it was implied that the older woman likes the main lead, but the main lead never liked her back. But in Only Side By Side With You, the main lead actually had a past romantic relationship with the older woman (An Ning) (in present time, he only has eyes for the main female lead and the older woman (An Ning) is manipulating the main lead into making decisions that could essentially hurt the female lead). It's kinda annoying because the male lead wants nothing to with the older woman (An Ning), but she keeps holding onto him because she "claimed" him in the past. Both older women in K2 and Only Side By Side With You have similar personalities and are both antagonists. In the K2 I think everyone liked the older woman more than the female lead because the female lead was a weak character, but in Only Side By Side With You, the female lead is a strong character, so the older woman (An Ning) is not a likable character
Is the ending well done/satisfying????????????????????????
I wouldn't say it is a cliffhanger, It's more on the open ended side. The main lead (Zhang QI Shan) and his men are fighting with the Japanese in the first battle of Changsha. His wife (Xin You), the female lead is also in Changsha waiting for him to return home after the battle is over.
