The age gap between the actors has nothing to do with it :) The problem started because people all want to be…
True, I really dislike cancel culture that developed because of PCness in the US so it's disappointing to see it root into Korean entertainment. There are waaay more things in older dramas that don't age well. Idk why people are so centered on tiny details. If she was a minor or emotionally immature when that kiss happened, I think that would be different story. I don't really have a problem with age gaps if both people are emotionally capable to handle that sort of relationship.
I was kind of confused on why there was only one kiss scene because there seems to be a trend in kdrama in which skinship scenes are getting more intense and frequent. But then I looked at the age of the actors... There is a 13 year age gap
Love the article! I'm more of a lakorn watcher myself, because I feel like series are more comedic and light-weight. Whenever I'm watching lakorns I tend to go for the more serious, and emotion-drawing plots.
I also agree with you about not being put off by the thai language. When I first started watching lakorns I didn't like how choppy and blunt the language sounded compared to the almost musical and harmonic tones of Japanese, Korean, and Mandarin. However, the more I watched, the more I came to like how the language often used tones and sounds that sounded lilting and lively.
I definitely understand the PP. I like subway, but they do be promoting way to frequently. On aside note, the subways in S. Korea are waaay better than the subways they have in the US
why does it say 32 episodes?all the sites and apps I gonto says 16 episodes only
Technically it is 32 episodes. A year or two ago, MBC changed their drama formats to 32 episodes of 35 minutes. Each episode is actually two episodes. On some websites, they might just list the episodes as 1 thru 16 and on others it's 1 thru 32
Nice article I really enjoyed the show as well I think this has to be one of my favorite shows this years. As…
Thanks for reading the article. Although the lakorn tried to make it seem that Thien was in love with her all along, I think that is complete BS that the writers threw in last minute. I believe the moment he truly realized that he was in love with Muay was during the trip to the Temple. Everything during the Myanmar excursion was buildup to Thien falling in love with Muay. You can see so during flashbacks, when Thien secretly takes pictures of Muay and prays to be with her.
I love this series! While k-dramas are excellent, I think its popularity often overshadow other countries' dramas. When you think of east asian entertainment, people usually mention anime or kdramas. I've been trying to get more into j-dramas this year, so this article provided many good recs.
i saw that this was rated R is it really that bad? i mean i'm 17 and i don't want to be traumatized but this looks…
Nothing like 50 Shades of Gray or other western shows/movies, but there are sexual scenes that imply that the characters had sex (most of the act is just covered up underneath a blanket) I think there are about 2 in total: one in the first episode and one towards the end. Other than that, there are just some really intense kiss scenes.
I put this on my PTW list a little while ago but didn't know if I wanted to start it for the same reasons you…
Haha she is as obvious as the male lead is oblivious, but she does try her best to make the ML fall in love with her rather crying and blindly running after him with no plan in mind like some other FLs in lakorns/dramas.
Thank you for the article. I registered here in MDL because of this drama. I really love this lakorn, I watched…
You're welcome! Thank you for the comment and welcome to MDL! I'm not going to disagree that this drama had some flaws, but you're very correct in saying that the chemistry and romance between Muay and Thien greatly outweigh any negatives. It's going to be hard to find another lakorn like this very soon v_v
Can anyone suggest Cdrama with no dubbing. I'm trying to find one but to avail. So far, my only favourite drama,…
Battle of Changsha and The Story of Ming Lan are both not dubbed, but they are pretty heavy, serious drama. I'm not sure if you're looking for something like that...
Thank you for the article, I hope more and more people discover this gem! I went to the extent to watch the last…
You're welcome ;) I hope other people discover this drama as well. lol you have commitment. I tried watching it raw, but gave up after 10 min in because I couldn't understand a thing
