This drama just gets worse episode from episode. I really enjoyed it in the beginning and actors are really good, but the plot just gets dumber and dumber, the jealousy between leads is artifical and convulsive, and the chemistry faded out to non-existent.

Who cares, its their private. Only thing relevant here is how they bring their characters to life with acting skills, anything happening after cameras are shut down is none of our business.

This was one of the most wtf moments so far. :D Sadly not the only one - like right after that "okay, I know we just met few times and you didn't even agree to dating so far, but hey, lets go, I will but in your life and meet your grams! Hey, don't have any objections, I saved your life by sitting helplessly on the cliff next to you, so we are now basically really close, right?". I am loving the characters and actors, so I am able to selectively forget the cringe moments, but the script is sadly under average. Lets not give up hopes thou! :D

lol, you are my soulmate, let's be friends 😂 wise choice you made here, I am always in search of good xianxias and there aren't many that catch my attention, so I struggle to finish every single one of them, but I ran into a brick wall with this one. 😂

This drama indeed lacks any plot. I felt exactly the same way as you do, I was on the verge of dropping, then few cool interactions emerged between the leads, so I kept watching and finished (with an excessive help of skip button), but regretting it now - those few fluffy scenes are the only thing this drama can offer, other than that - no plot, shallow characters, too many trips to other worlds (I know I know, its called Three Lives, Three Worlds, ... in alternative title, but it just means, three lives, three worlds, three piles of boredom), too many hysterical female characters crying desperately every time they fail to win ML attention (including the FL), ...

I decided to finish this depression just to tear this drama up in my review, still cooling down before writing it, to keep at least a bit of objectivity, because the negative emotions and frustration from this drama is too much at this moment. :D

If you decided to finish it, let me know if you grew to like it, I may be just biased, or I will get a sparing partner in you. :D

FL gets misunderstood repeatedly, acts hot-headed and yet forgives any mistreating at a whim - what's the point of standing up for oneself then, if she immediately forgives everything the next moment?

ML acts infantile at times and overbearing any other time, his authority is all over the place, yet he can't even protect a person deer to him and mistreats her the most.

And what's the worst - there is no plot. Just two shallow lead characters and their toxic relationship. Glad to see so many like-minded ppls here in comments section.

Never encountered so many cliché in a single drama lol. Think of any asian romantic stereotype, this drama has it. 😅

So basically, its a dream end, since everyone can interpret it up to his liking. 😂😂

Finished the 40 ep. just now, after hesitating for a long time, since everyone here spoiled the sad ending, but my first thought after watching was "wait a sec, this is not a sad ending, TTJ still resides in the heart protecting scale!" - planned to comment here to share the thoughts, but saw your comment instead - indeed, I believe there is a happy, or at the very least open ending, just not shown properly due to cutting (like in Starry Love).

I liked the porridge scene. It wasn’t in the novel, but it was a very important element for the drama context. In the novel, TTJ was just ridiculously jealous and ruthless, then forced YXW to kill her long-termed friend with no proper grounds and after that expected her to obediently stay by his side and was very surprised, she didn’t care anymore (Hey! Unexpected right?). This novel plot was the LOL moment for me, it portrayed TTJ like a real jerk master and absolute sociopath, because he made harm with no reasoning.

The drama TTJ was more sympathetic, therefore enforcing the original novel plot in this case would be a huge mistake, since he was not the ruthless TTJ from the novel, he was a just and wise king, able to forgive and considering saving lives, not killing based on his mood. In this case the porridge plot added the element of him mistakenly thinking YXW turned on him and therefore taking revenge by the puppet spell - it made more sense in the context of the drama, it gave the reason for why would the sympathetic TTJ do something like that to YXW. At the same time this plot kept the original novel idea of YBCH scheming behind scenes to tear the two of them apart to win a stronger position for herself. For me the porridge plot was a masterpiece.

Hi, thanks for checking! The first two links I am familiar with, I didn't know the third one, went through it, thanks for that. :-) Its a shame neither of those three contains the track I mentioned, it looks it indeed was not released. ;-(

Another one I can't find is the track playing when TTJ sentences YBCH around 12:00 in ep. 29.

Does anybody know, if more OST/BGM will be released? The show has so many wonderful BGM that are nowhere to be found, for example the music playing while TTJ meets the devil in the middle of episode 36 (right at the moment, where devil explains why he created the path of sorrows, around minute 35:00).

This feels so frustrating, why can't they simply release all the tracks? It repeats with almost every drama, there is at least one dashing unreleast BGM track. I then usually spend plenty of hours with cakewalk in desperate attempts to synthetize it, usualy failing to do so. So frustrating. :D

ah, this really wasn't explained clearly, the ptsd, since she tortured him continuosly without much hesitation. fortunately she "recovered" within just few episodes, or i would have virtually killed her. 😆 i also read the novel, but must admit, i do like the drama version of TTJ and LSS/YXW more, since in the drama, she was maybe a bit inconsistent, but in the novel he was way too indifferent and cruel for way too long and she was way too calculating and detached and their relationship wasn't reasonable for most of the time, they shared nice moments mostly in ilusions only. in drama they tried to follow the original aloof personalities of them, but added more emotions to evolve the chemistry earlier, but here and there returned to the original story, which didn't make much sense in settled drama circumstances. i believe this created most of the inconsistency.

lol, i was really angry with her at the beginning, when she let him kneel on ice knowing he kneels several days already, just for something he hasnt even done yet... i thought so many times through this drama, there wouldn't be any devil god if people just didn't carry so much prejudices. it was so frustrating watching him struggling against his nature despite all injustice and still being not able to gain any trust.

i am hoping for a HE because of the original novel, because although the drama altered some minor things about the plot, the overall story pretty much fits the novel, so there's a great hope. 🙂

I wouldn't say. When he appears in the sect, although she tries to keep distance at first, she still believes he wont become the devil despite being the devil fetus. Even when her father dies all over again and everybody blames tantai jin, she still believes in him and decides to investigate. Even if whole sect believed he killed his master and went rampage, she still considered it weird, ditched all her sect family and went back to him to hear his side of the story. Its just he needs her to hate him right now, because hes ready to sacrifice, so he lies to her he did all that. And eventhou she gets angry after she hears him out, she still loves him, probably even suspect some of his intentions and since he refuses to be on good terms with her in the real world, she takes an oportunity to love him at least in the dream he creates for her. This is why I think she suspects something bad is coming, that neither she, neither tantai jin can stop, so she just plays along.

Usually when starting new xianxia I am full of anxiety, because they usually fu*k up halfway through - the storyline either becomes boring, or spins out of control, because of lack of good ideas. Even if they keep up the storyline interesting, we usually have to bare with poor effects and bad animations, or have to forgive a bit sheepish ending.

So I didn't expect much this time either. But HOLY CRAP!! If they won't screw up the ending, this will be the first ever xianxia that gets a 10 from me, and I don't give a 10 easily. I mean, how did they manage to connect 5 time-and-space separated storylines without the story becoming messy? Even 2 storylines are tricky to connect without the drama becoming boring, trying to connect 3 and more usually ends up in a great messy failure (The Blue Whisper being a sad example). Gosh, this blows my mind.

I would say FL acting is not the major problem, the problem is the script and the fact both leads characters are scripted to be awfully overacting. The drama has its good moments, but also many plot holes and weird cutting. The screen effects and ost are great. For me the drama was ruined by the fact, both lead characters were acting dumb. But somebody may have higher tolerance, or prefers other things over this matter, so I always advice - try first three episodes, if you don't like the drama by then, it won't get much different and you can peacefully drop.
