Very relatable, at times frustrating, but really solid overall. Pearl is all of us and the ultimate BL best friend. I adore her character, but could have used 20% less her in the later episodes. I hope we get to see season 2.
I dont understand how this is not rated higher. This show is nearly perfect but no one talks about it. No love triangles, no ex-girlfriends, no awful parents, no engineers, great chemistry, a sweet baby and so much other good stuff. If you like or love BL just watch it. There are official links on youtube. For me this was the best show of 2020, domestic bliss is my favorite thing. 9.5/10
Glad i waited so long to watch it. It was pretty awful, kind of rock bottom in terms of BLs from recent years. But in a way it's good bc BLs have been steadily improving and I'm hoping this show is a lesson to any company/writer who wants to make a crappy sequel. One season is better than a second season like this.
This would have been a fine miniseries if they cut out the first 6 episodes and gave the characters anything to do and not given a pass to a rapist. But oh well, I do feel bad for fans of the original series though, you all deserved better.
I appreciated how meta it was, but the last 2 episodes ruined the rest of the series for me. All 3 main characters were selfish and acted like their actions shouldn't have consequences. So many plots got pushed aside for the sake of conflict and then a simple resolution. I've never seen a "villain" cry so much and be so out of touch with the rest of the story and other characters. The story spent so much time wagging a finger at shipping fans and Thai journalists that it forgot to have a believable conclusion. The KaoUp ship is still all over the internet. If actors shipping is bad and toxic, why did the show invest so much time trying to get the audience to ship these actors? Shipping can be VERY toxic, but it's also very lucrative for the actors and companies that make BLs, there are no simple answers. I'm glad this story wasn't like so many other Thai BLs, but it could have been so much better.
It's so refreshing that more BLs are telling realistic stories about the hardships of being gay. This is not a groundbreaking short film, but it doesn't need to be. Solid acting, solid story and solid directing.
This is a rare time when i prefer an adaptation over the original manga. Both were really good. But the acting in the movie was top tier. Everyone seemed like real people and even though they were very flawed, I really connected with the plot. The ending felt right even though things could been resolved with 5 more minutes. That's not a compliant though, life doesn't always have with clear answers, I'm glad the movie trusted the audience to make their own conclusions.
Not discussing how sending Kai to school would impact there lives, always saying "we're happy" while Jerry and Damian stayed silent about what they were really going through, losing a baby in the middle of a huge parade and it never being a big deal, Jerry not wanting kids at all and then being the main one taking care of Kai for more than 3 years and JIMMY!!! Omg there are soooooo many plot issues in each episode that it was impossible to enjoy the show. I felt bad for Kai, Jerry and even Jerry's parents, so many things just randomly happened to them and nothing ever got resolved they just moved on to the next scene. I think 6 episodes wasn't enough to tell this story. I truly hope next season is more thoughtout and paced better.
I really wanted to love this but i didn't. It's a show about gay people, not really a BL and the concept is something you almost never see in BL and i really appreciate that. I just wish it was written more realistically in the last episodes . I'll watch season 2
I wish i watched the movie instead of the series, but i can't find the movie online. Oh well, the series was fine, but definitely felt incomplete. It was pretty much a very long music video.
I rarely do this, but I gave up in the middle of episode 2. There are way to many good (Korean) BLs to waste time on something like this. After reading the comments I knew it would only get worse, so I dropped it.
I've seen hundreds of BLs but I can't remember the last time I saw one this incredible. I loved every single character. I HATE love triangles, but this was soooo worth it! 10/10
Wow, that was sooooooo bad. The acting, the pacing, the sets, the script all bad. There was nothing good about this adaption and I feel bad sayig that. Honestly, I can't completely blame them though, Love Stage just dosen't isn't meant for live action. If you enjoyed the manga or anime AVOID THIS!
