I can't believe I'm saying this about a show that I praised for 8 weeks straight, but I couldn't have been more disappointed by episode 9. I get that they wanted to show a juxtaposition between their lives in high school vs college and that both have changed in some ways over the 5 years. But for show that used silence so effectively in the previous episodes, the constant talking from all of those uninteresting side characters made 23 minutes feel like a SLOG.

I honestly wish I only watched the 3 minutes when the leads actually interacted and skipped the rest. Now I'm frustrated knowing that after so much suffering, these wonderful characters will spend such a short part of the series as a couple. 😮‍💨

Given the ages of the actors, the extremely low budget and the paint by numbers level script, this could have been worse. It was watchable, but I'm not gonna watch season two.

This feels like the latest example of "every BL isn't for every BL fan". It's filled with plenty of BL "moments", hits all of the expected beats of a master/servant story and does a fine job with the robot/AI stuff. But I just don't feel at all invested in the story. IMO Anti Reset did it better.

We have two damsels, two heroic guys and nice abs. Random desperate women with zero shame. Boring parties to fill the run time. Heanchmen and a dad who I wish would disappear. It's obvious where the story is going, but I don't have a desire or the patience to sit through 9 more episodes and watch it predictablely unfold. So I'm putting this on hold, maybe I'll revisit it after it ends.

I'm glad I watched it. I appreciated the series made sure to show that nothing is black and white. There are different perspectives and nuance in everything. For me, it wasn't perfect, but I would recommend it to anyone looking for a mature story and complex ideas. I also thought Tor did a great job portraying Kan from start to finish.

*sigh* waiting until next week will be harder than ever!

I binged watched all 15 episodes over the last week and fell in love. The original series was the beginning of an era and one of the best Thai BLs ever made. And even though it wasn't perfect, when the remake was announced, I didn't have high expectations.

But it turned out to be a perfect adaptation that also updated some of the outdated stories. The changes made to Aim, Yuri and Ohm's characters were where this excelled IMO. The original Aim and Yuri were two of the worst BL girls ever, but I loved both of them in this version. I actually loved all of the characters except Earn and Jeed.

Phun and Noh were absolutely adorable, innocent and funny. I loved them from the start and both actors embodied their characters perfectly. For me, this is 9.5 and only because the story dragged a bit towards the end. But so did the original. I highly recommend this series. Not only for the nostalgia, but because the writing and character development are much stronger than what we usually get from Thai BLs.

This feels like something written by an older woman who watched too many Skinamax movies in the 90s and read too many romance novels. The flimsy plot only exista to create a conflict that's resolved in minutes and results in a long and overly detailed sex scene. I'm not surprised that almost no one wanted their name tied to this project. It was pointless, completely forgettable and won't help advance anyone's career.

I'm sure many BL fans will enjoy the sex scene, but I promise you can find much better scenes without the hassle of having to sit through over 2 hours of nothing.

Another week of this being my comfort series and me loving every second of these kids together! So many meaningful moments in an episode that seems so simple on the surface.

I love that Jodd/Jeng don't spend all their time following Sun/Junior around, but they have thier own lives and relationship! I love breaking the 4th wall, being so unserious about them missing multiple days of school and drinking all of that alcohol just because. No detention or punishment, because we aren't here for that. We're have for the boys and that's exactly what the writer is giving us 🥰. I love the mature conversations and and honest emotions.

But most of all I love how real Sun's feelings feel. He has been completely up front about what he wants/needs from the beginning. Sadly our naive penguin just isn't reading the room, but it's precious how hard he tries. These two are so wonderful together!!! In a year of lots of great series and lots of Thai crap, it feels like Thai high school BLs are the MVPs. This and Love Sick 2024 are so special, I'm just sad they're both ending soon 🥲

I think it's ok so far. Bu Shi was pretty irritating in the first episode, but I liked him more in the second. The show does make me miss Ever 9, mainly because the leads in this one felt generic and bland. I'll stick with it though because the premise is fun and the characters might grow on me.

I was saying that it was surprising that these companies would want their names tied to this lazy series. I agree, I think sponsoring it would be very cheap.

Well I'm disappointed. This was the gmmtv series I was most excited for when it was originally announced in 2023. I have been a fan of Gawin since Dark Blue Kiss and I was so excited to see him in this role.

It's obvious that Joss's situation is going to impact the show in some way and that's such a shame. I know everyone has their own options about the situation and I think everyone is entitled to agree or disagree with his choices and to watch the show or not watch it. I watch BL because I want to see stories about gay characters. But I'm also an American and know the impact that some right wing people have had on America. The attacks on trans people and especially trans kids have increased in recent years in large part because of right wing bigotry. The bigotry and attacks extend to all LGBTQ people, women, people of color and others.

I can understand that for people outside of America this situation may feel different than for many people in America. I wish none of this happened. Especially not weeks before the series was likely to premiere. But it did happen and Joss is a 28 year old man who has said nothing so far about the situation. I have no idea how he feels about the people he followed. He is old enough to know better than to put his career in jeopardy over people whose lives won't be impacted by whether or not this tanks his career. And his silence so far has been deafening.

I'm not going to be responding to any rude comments. I know how many MDL pages are for GMMTV series. Even when there is no controversy tied to the series. I have not written anything mean about Joss and I don't intend to. I have no desire to argue with people about this, so I won't. I do wish the rest of the cast and crew success with this series and think it's sad that the actions of one person could negatively impact all of them.

-The director has done 3 other BLs that I'm aware of. All 3 had mature characters and they were all able to convincingly portray romantic chemistry between the leads.
- As you suggested, there are many actors who are in their first BL and able to convincingly portray their relationship. Also, JJ has done BLs in the past and I believed those characters.
-I agree with you on this one. I think Kan's character is supposed to be hiding a lot from those around him and the audience. IMO that could work in a longer series, but with only 3 episodes left, it feels like we're racing towards the finish line, but the characters and relationship haven't been developed enough to make me invested.

But I still think compared to other Thai BLs that came out this year, it's really good overall.

Anyone who does that to their kid for years deserves the absolute worst punishment IMO.

Exactly. Every word he says and move he makes means something to his character and the story. I feel all of it. It hurts so bad, but I care about him (both of them) so much. That's exactly what I want from an actor, completely embody the character and bring into the world. Even if it's difficult to watch, it's worth it.

Or an endless supply of booze constantly being poured down his throat while he's beaten the way he beat his son every day. Was that too dark?

Easily the best series airing in the later part if 2024, but also the most heart wrenching!!! Idk how many people auditioned for the role of Haruki, but Kamimura Kenshin was 100% the perfect person for this role. He is putting on an acting master class every week and deserves all the awards!

Watching these two kids trying their best to get through life while being each other's rock is beautiful and devastating. Watching 4 parents who are in varying ways absent from their kids' lives at very important time is infuriating. I'd be lying if I said I didn't pray for Haruki's dad to disappear every single week and I'm glad he's finally gone. Obviously episode 8 will be painful. I'm really hoping study abroad doesn't happen and that these two finally get some moments that aren't traumatic soon 🙏

This feels less like a series and more like a mash up of many things any BL/yaoi fan has watched/read too many times before. The first episode had no plot, instead they gave the characters random activities to complete to fill a very long hour. Painting, eating, drinking, white wash cloth wipe downs, more painting and a little BDSM scene at the end! I guess that last one was to wake up the viewers, but like everything else it was a fail.

The resort guest is insufferable and Manu needs friends. I'll watch the other episode only because I made it this far, I have a 2x speed button and I'm convinced the non-con scene was all in P's head. I'd complain about yet ANOTHER poorly written/acted/directed Thai BL, but at this point, I expect nothing less from a country that long ago decided quantity is all that matters. My only question is how this production team managed to secure multiple sponsors for this mess?!?!?!?

Nope. I watch random old stuff I've never seen before all the time.
