I dont support cdramas where the female characters are doormats no. And things are changing for the better, many cdramas are now evolving to the reality a woman really is.
And this drama in particular fails spectacularly at that, specifically when it comes to the romantic relationships.
I am literally talking about that in particular, not about the rest of the life of the female characters, I am talking about the behavior and personality written to her for the relationship point of view.
I watched it all and it was just grooming 100% , with again, the male characters watered down so it wouldn’t look wrong.
Romanticizing those characters is just not okay.

That is awesome! I liked One Spring Night a lot, although as you saying it was very heavy and dark sometimes.
I can’t wait to watch this version! Is not in viki yet ( it says coming soon) so I will have to wait a bit though.

Just watched the trailer and the plot looks awfully similar like the korean drama One Spring Night, is this a version of that ? Is not listed here! It was so intense and dark too.

@kokuto because this is not an exception in chinese dramas, is a literal fetiche. Women are written like this in asian dramas almost everytime. The glorified naive, pure, shy and inexperienced woman forever behaving like a child, specially when it comes to romantic relationships.
That’s why this kind of characters are a problem and not realistic. They are just the expectation on how women should behave. The behavior of the men in the drama is watered down so it doesn’t look wrong so they are making 30 year olds behave like teenagers too when they interact with the way younger and inexperienced female characters.
Such display of patriarchal stereotypes, it’s very cringe.

@mystery_s9 Yes , absolutely, i would say thats their target audience, very young inexperienced teenagers. Anyone else who actually has experience in life can see how unrealistic this drama is.

💯 !!! Grooming vibes the whole time, so uncomfortable to watch. What a shame they didn’t portray an actual relationship with women with actual personalities. And the male characters weren’t realistic either ( unless they were predators)

Being Condescending and spreading hate like you are doing is not a nice treat. You are a grown ass woman, act like one.

@tsoknatz this was literally it for me! I felt predatory and grooming vibes the whole time! Two 30 year olds going after two college girls?! The girls playing the inexperienced, naive shy and pure girl and just saying yes to everything.
It was very uncomfortable.

@veeveevee I know all that, and it would be okay but come on, she is literally meeting with HER BROTHER, continuously and he just recognizes her when she gets out of the river without makeup…. I just found it really ridiculous. I was laughing the whole time, great series but that bot killed me.

Im loving this drama but do they really think she looks like a different person just with lipstick and eyeliner? Are they okay? 🥴🤦🏼‍♀️

When they are showing their timeline since they met and every encounter they had ever since and he is wearing the same exact suit since 2017….
I mean he might be rich but he is saving his money like there’s no tomorrow.

I don’t understand how they don’t realize while making these dramas how ridiculous it looks when the female lead has ONE hairstyle the whole series and the male lead wears the same three suits in every episode. So cringe I want to scream.

I love the drama, but that side of it is infuriating.

I don’t think they had budget? It’s actually very weird he keeps wearing the same ugly suits the whole time, he only has three! Its soooo annoying to watch. Honestly it has to be budgeting , otherwise why would they do this!?

@poohgirlmd @hmamamm Love me love my voice is not light is way beyond light, has no plot at all. I may love you is way better in every aspect, and without the doormat female lead. I would recommend You are my Glory, meet yourself or My Fated Boy

Specially the predatory thing.
It felt so wrong so many times seeing those two 30year olds going for students…. And they of course make them behave like teenage boys so it doesn’t look so wrong. But i was getting grooming vibes the whole time, they wrote the female leads like they had no personality. Their role was just being shy, naive, modest and inexperienced…. It was so cringe….
