I really haven't seen much antis at all, I thought XL is also a super popular choice. I guess it'll be different once the drama starts airing, the toxic fans come in droves. I agree tan jianci is perfect, I cannot imagine anyone else as XL

When reborn, at first he wanted to marry her this lifetime, never tell her about Qin Zhenzhen, and love wife forever. But since she's also reborn and hates him, he thought he will find another way to live his new life without her lol

For her, she wanted to avoid him, but now found herself involved in politics and marrying him is safest and best option. So to avoid getting hurt, she plans to marry him, divorce him later, find true love.

Of course, story will let them resolve their past issues, rekindle the initial romance and give them what they could've had.

Ambition in politics? For him, it is power/money. Since he got screwed over by his Uncles after his dad died, they took his mansion and everything belonging to him. Marrying her is marrying up. For relationships, he intended to treat his wife well, but he had a first love, and when wife discovered it, he could never lie to her, so it broke her heart and their marriage.

For her, she just wants love.

haha no problem, they didn't explain it too much because I think they're jumping kind of fast and depending on flashbacks. He and QZZ are childhood lovers, the term used. And engaged since young, so his heart was set on loving her, marrying her, protecting her. Her family had to break the engagement when his dad died and he lost all his power/money, since now he's not good enough to marry, so it was against both their wills to break up

I think Xiang Liu loves her, but would never let himself be an option no matter what. If he's proud of anything it's that he would never admit he cares for/will sacrifice for her. Everything he's done for her, he has never truly let her known. Teaching her archery? Just passing the time as a wastrel. Saving her life? Just dont wanna die with her due to bugs, and makes Cangxuan gives him a mountain so it can be an excuse. He accepted the bugs knowing what they were, but never telling her the truth. From the day she told him she would never allow herself to entertain the thought of him entering her dreams (heart), he knew she was resisting him. A guy like XL with a past similar to XY would know her well enough to know she desires stability, loyalty, and someone to put her 100%. Since he was saved by his godfather and devoted his life to the Chenrong army, he would never leave until death.

The poignant moments where Xiaoyao keeps saying "I wish I had been the one to save you..and let you just be Fangfeng Bei..a free FFB" do you know how touched he was? If she could've replaced his godfather (been the one to save him from slave arena) then he'd be devoted to her the same way! They both know this, and she has stated it out loud, but it is only a desire. He knew there's no way to let go of his life purpose and choose Xiao Yao, and why she won't ever accept him, thus will never give her the hope.

Sure doesn't stop him from wanting to know if she could've chosen him. He has always asked her "who do you hope I am?" and "Why not quit being a Princess and wander the world with me?" She says Yes..If you give everything up. Both understand the meaning of this, I'm sure. She can give it all up, but can he? Status, power, demon/deity means nothing to her. She just wants a Ye Shiqi, a man who will put her first, so she can devotedly and safely love a man back.

I guess there's more to be shown, but in the book, he had no idea himself. He was in love with QZZ so long, that he didn't realize if he ever stopped loving her, and the pain of her death was so recent and emotions strong, so thats why he was speechless when wife confronted him.

He was planning to having a cool off period, be allies/friends, but she was hurt and prideful, tried not to show she cared, so things got more cold/resentful, they slept separately, and then when he realized he cared/love her, she had started saving Su Rongqing and alienated PWX romantically, so the timing was never right since.

Ah you're midway. She only just became a girl again. You havent seen her with Fangfeng Bei yet. Then you see more of Tushan Jing's identity and will understand her frustrations with him and what she's yearning for. Also her support for Cang Xuan should change your mind about her loving only herself.

Hmm you had me agreeing right up until the question, because I believe XL wanted to ask "Do you want to marry/be with me?", but changed it to "Who do you want to spend the rest of your life with?" because he can't bear for himself to be an option but wanted to know. Also, he makes her forget he ever asked, so all the more reason why not ask what he wanted to know.

I know what you mean. I've felt the exact same as as you on my first watch (I hated Xiao Yao, I thought she shouldve ended up alone than hurt Jing). But each time I've rewatched it and understood from different POVs, they each made sense. As a viewer, we can see from the most broad perspective, so flaws are very very apparent, and until you understand each character better, their choices may seem hard to comprehend.

On the other hand, I wonder if you feel any love between Xiang Liu & Xiao Yao?

I think it's okay, I heard she's good in the one with Leo Wu. I think she's a great actress, but the dramas I saw her in, lacks the romance line. I've seen her in Reset, and Stand By Me.

There's not enough in 6 eps to tell if they have couple romance chemistry. They sure can get along and act well, and bicker, so I think it may work depending on the script.

what happens to Jing is bad, but not as bad as you're thinking. They don't show much. It's always been from what Xiao Yao can see/feel, and how she reacts to things. While the truth is different depending on everyone's POV (my heart goes to Xiang Liu).

Jing is so nice he cant even punish his brother who tortured him for 3 years. One of the things Xiao Yao loves about him. Her own tortures changed her into a cold person, and he still manages to love/be nice, which is novel to her, and what attracted her to Shiqi. Hence no matter what she does to him, he will stay. Jing and Xiao Yao is very balanced, if they work together as partners.

Cang Xuan is powerful...but he's just as cold as Xiao Yao, even harsher. They won't do good as a couple together.

Heh yea, I didn't like SOKP because of the FL development lol. Felt like two different people, at least this one, Li Rong's past/present lives make sense. Bai Lu also good in Arsenal Military Academy!

Ahh see, thats where everyone agrees Xiao yao's character is a red flag too. Absolutely NO ONE is perfect in this drama.

She basically trusts no one, has major abandonment issues, follows Cang Xuan's advice "With no hope, you will have no disappointment", yet yearns for the 0.0001% possibility for a man out there who will love her 100% FIRST (this is key, as she will never go in first). This is a major reason why a lot of fans against Jing say he only got her love due to her fear of everything else. However, the argument here is, she WILL love whoever won't abandon her. This is a woman who can hate her mother for hundreds of years over DYING in war, and ditch her father over rumors.

She caught feelings when he was Ye Shiqi, and they spent those 6 years together where he lived only for her. She agrees to be with Jing, because of Ye Shiqi. I don't believe she loved Jing, but he did promise "give me 15 years, and I return to you Ye Shiqi". Then he proceeds to freaking just be weak-ass Tushan Jing, and broke her trust over and over. Anyway....she will love him back, but her fatal flaw crushes both of them at the end of S1, and it won't work out unless she also grows/learns to love better.
