XL kills Fenglong (he was general during the war) and he died in front of Xiaoyao So in that scene, she shoots him because she was angry about Fenglong, and XL is next going to kill Cangxuan, and says he will never surrender. She shot him, but her heart hurt and she didn't kill him. In repayment, he asked her for her blood to heal, one last time. She gives him a lot of her blood, and in the end it is revealed..he didnt even use it to heal, but used it to save Jing so she can have her lover back. T___T I cried buckets of tears.
XL dies from war, in battle. He used up all his lives, one of the last ones to save Xiaoyao again and remove the bug. He also used up all his energy before the last battle to make her a wedding gift. SIGH. Heartbreaking

He also mocks about Jing's death..but all of it is so she can hate him and sever ties and do something for him without her knowledge why

I think she chose the happiest ending for herself. She did love Jing since it ticks all her criteria, but like..I believe her soulmate is Xiangliu/FFB. Sometimes we don't get to be with our soulmates.

haha true. It's always been tough...She wants to be with Jing, if he can be Ye Shiqi, with Xiangliu if he can be FBB, and CX if he had gotten her from Jade Mountain. After watching S1 and reading the novel so many times, I know her life journey has been tough and all the events shaped her decisions, so I have no reason to be angry who she chooses as long as it makes her happy.
