I rewatched and loved him so much as Xingyun lol. Especially when you know what he's like as XZ for so long. When he's XY, he's so clingy and cute and open about needing protection. "I don't like being forced!", "Don't leave me alone!" and that he discovered hand holding and the feeling of care and protection, and then I guess it stuck with him when he returns to being Xing Zhi, the first thing he wants to do is hold her hand even when he's not supposed to. At the very end when he acknowledges "I used to be that annoying" when discovering love. loool. Great drama, great characters. rant over

In the novel it's mentioned she no longer participated in the military stuff/attending court meetings after peace is restored. She's also in grief/pining for XZ. I guess the hair down, softer look is more suitable than her battle ready/warrior crown hair and outfits.

Its just part of him when he gets shy/uncomfy. Same in other dramas too

This drama is the first that broke all the cliche tropes and reversed uno to give us a good xianxia for once, so nope...not gonna have anything similar.
