One thing that annoyed me a bit about it is the reocurring smoking scenes but I had to keep in mind that it is a twenty year old series... Overall glad to have given a second chance to it.
I was really glad to finish this series before attempting to watch Forest of Secrets's second season. I had the chance of meeting a Japanese protagonist so similar yet so distant to its main character. This series had given me almost the same feeling as FOS season 1 I can only wonder about whether the screenwriter who've written FOS had the luck to be inspired by this particular series. Not to say that she copied anything just that both are such masterpieces that could be viewed as of a same high level works. Getting curious about their second seasons. Highly recommend both.
Episode 7 is the most revolting I have seen of all the dramas. What a horrible feeling of hopelessness.
it defenitely hit me home... a hit and run killing whose perpetrator would go on unpunished despite knowing his identity, I'm hoping that in the special episode (or should I say movie) he will get what he deserves
Such a journey... How glad would I be if I also took the time to write down my first observations when I entered this Asian-loop hole?! Honestly I enjoyed reading about yours and others experiences in their first year of drama novicity so much so that I am tempted to aquire a time machine so that I could relive my own. Fantasy aside great article. One thing that is hard for me is to use the fast forward option of avoiding the increasing on hold list of mine. There is one type of series on which I tend to use it without any restrictions namely the Lakorns but that is quite understandable due to their unreasonably lenghty feature. Good luck to you for the rest of the year in finding series that are worth to watch!
After how dissapointing Rugal turned out to be (another generic americanized superhero-revenge story) this could only be better, I adore the Z-genre that also helps a lot. But honestly I would really love him working with better scripts, something a whole lotta darker vibed and/or wholesome...
Nice article like usual. I did give Buzzer Beat a chance a few years back due to the reputation of the anime but it was almost unwatchable for me (maybe because how oldfashioned it felt). There are those series of the past that simply do not stand a chance against todays cinematographic achievements... Not a big sports fan, having trouble even to remind myself of one single sports drama I've watched. I recently read about the mistreatment of Asians in America after the Pearl Harbor incident and I found it quite amusing I mean the similarities of how they were treated just like the Jews in the early days of Hitler's regime. The Chinese even felt the pressure to write their nationality on their clothes to distinctify them from the Japanese. I heard about ghettos built to separate the Japanese Americans from the other population... so I am kinda interested in the Vancouver Asahi movie, curious about a Canadian perspective.
Hope that working with another director will not affect badly the sequel of the Forest of Secrets. Cannot wait…
-...and I sure did. LIFE is amazing. My only wish is to be able to see her scripts reach a far wider audience, USA certainly needs someone with her talents to create something watch worthy seeing what they produce in recent years...
I just checked whether I remembered corectly that The Ghost Detective was from KBS2 also... and I was right, not that I'm complaining just popped up in my mind. I hope this series will sit better with me as a zombie enthusiast than the poor attempt of a superhero story Rugal (CJH 2020's series) turned out to be for me, although I highly anticipated it. As for Ghost detective or the vampire one they were average at best... Pretty hyped up for the zombie-plotline though.
I truly believe that after 50 so episodes of calamities and in-betweens the viewers (us) deserve at leats 4! (only) episodes of true happiness and bliss! Oh why, oh why must they force upon us another hurdle, plot-loophole?! Enough is enough with the drama give us some peace and a well-deserved ending for our leads. (Rants so and so forth...)
It's such a "welcoming" surprize realizing that I've watched all three of her series above noted ... I guess I like her writing. Keep up the good work! Also I'm getting curious about that drama special.
I feel you I'm stuck with Goblin, Scarlet Heart and a load of other series, still keeping them on my on-hold list for now... I defenitely would and in fact I did skip DOTS (not a fan of SJK), I loved Pinocchio (classic), Forest I downloaded a while ago waiting for its turn, the others not sure. Ultimately you must make that hard decision, it's your choice. Hwaiting!
