For all its glory I will still choose the other adaptations

This is a funny, light-hearted, feel-good plot.... starts with a little steam. Our FL has been married to the ML for three years, but they’ve never even met. One accidental night together changes that.. except the ML has no idea she’s his actual wife. He just knows he’s strangely attracted to this mystery woman… until she casually gives him an average rating remark for his 'between-the -sheets' performance... bruising his ego.

Fate steps in, and they meet again for a design project ~ but the ML is still convinced she’s an escort. The way she keeps talking about her “clients” and “services” in the design world while he’s misunderstanding everything for 'escort and services' is honestly hilarious. Their confused conversations are the highlight of the show.

The plot is totally worth watching, but I honestly prefer the other adaptation.

Reason 1: Subtitles here are tragic. I tried hard but couldn't find a decent video with proper BGM and subs.
Reason 2: first half of this version feels rushed —too many good moments chopped off.

Still, the cast is solid, so if you want to watch this adaptation, go for it, darling.... ❤️

PS: who cast this 6 years old child for a 3 years leap. 🤔

All Fire in first half ..all smoke in the second.

I enjoyed it only till episode 12. After that, it just felt like a cycle of repeated appearances and recycled tension. The story started very strong with an intense plot and a good pace where everything actually flowed with meaning. The FL was clearly the star. She came with one mission: revenge against the husband who betrayed her and caused their daughter’s death. She was ruthless, focused, and unapologetic about what she wanted. In the first half, she used both her mind and her strength, and it was satisfying to watch her single-handedly bring that worthless man and his accomplice to justice.

But once her revenge was complete, her character completely lost its edge. She suddenly turned passive and remained that way for most of the second half. I don’t fully blame her though, because the writing itself declined. The story got crowded with clichés, unnecessary twists, and repetitive villain reappearances that added nothing.

ML hardly had relatively less screen time(especially in first half) but his presence was impactful. Dai Gao toned down his usual fiery aura and played this role more subtly. His chemistry with No Zhi was decent, though not as strong as with Fang Tong, but still better than it was in Rainforest Passions.

Despite its flaws, the drama is still watchable for its strong first half and performance. Worth a try, just don’t expect consistency till the end.

A circus of misplaced emotions

I don’t know what I was expecting from this drama, but it definitely wasn’t this circus. The plot had potential, like most pre-Republican stories, but again the writer forgot how to actually use it. The female lead is on a revenge mission, but her idea of revenge is pulling out a gun 99 times and only shooting once. The rest of the time she’s busy kissing the ML and smudging her cheap red lipstick all over his face 🤡. No investigation, no planning, no brains. Just 💋

And somehow, she also wants to save society. Like girl, you can’t even save your own storyline.

The ML was all action, no delivery. Though I’ll give him some credit for doing our useless FL's share of investigation on her behalf. His reaction after killing his brother was just weird fake guilt, especially when both leads were hooking behind his back.

The SML wasn’t some tragic hero either. He claimed he loved her and dreamed of marrying her, but goes missing whenever his presence needed. Both times the FL was humiliated by that leacher man sent by his own father to rape her, this So called lover boy was nowhere to be found. Instead He followed his traitor father like a loyal puppy, ignored her pain and loss altogether. In fact He didn’t even try to hold his father accountable for conspiring against the nation. And the one time he “thought of her,” his brilliant plan was… running away. Not standing with her to face the odds Just running. Peak spineless energy.

So no, I didn’t feel bad for him at all. A man without backbone deserves the fall he gets.

Still, I liked that the story gave him some dignity in the end. The FL and ML went their separate ways, and she stayed engaged to the SML… or at least that’s how I interpreted her staring at the ring like it was a life decision instead of a piece of metal.

If the writer deliberately wrote this nonsense to make people hate these characters then I will this was an extremely good attempt but the writer was expecting as to feel sympathetic with them .. then I am sorry my sympathy has it's own IQ ..i can't feel it for these characters clowns even if I want to.

A slice of 'Feel good' for you

A Cute and sweet love story plot ... Starts with a lot of misunderstandings (though I don't know how they remain unresolved for more than half a decade) despite that , they stick together and slowly discovering all the good and bad secrets of their relationship and the people around them ... The ML character was just too good to be true .. green flag ... ? no... Green forest ...? No ... He was a damn green planet. FL was a little stupid but very cute Ashang was the right pick for this role she actually looks a bit airhead yet extremely adorable (but she really needs to practice the crying segments).. he jian qi brought his best strong ...passionate .. affectionate... funny ...doting... Reliable ... Superb kisser husband persona in full potential to the screen. The chemistry was superb ..given the fact that they have already worked together that comfort was very much visible in their act. The plot is good paced ..smooth ... Hardly any boring pauses. Overall a good drama i wish to see them doing more dramas together.

Nothing that you already haven't seen...

Another reborn revenge plot overloaded with wicked cliches ...the story revolves around FL, who is a successful actress killed by her fiance (the head of her talent management agency)...wow 🙀 so original .... Apparently this fiance is also having affair with the Vamp (FL's bestie),... both of them plan to kill the FL and inherit her money... after her death ....yeah!! And as if i didn't see it coming ... 😮😮😒😒, She reborn sometimes prior to the time of her engagement with this scrooge. Vowing to destroy this man she starts scheming meticulously and with each step she slowly brings him closer to his destruction.... I mean tell me something I don't know ... The ML who is the entertainment investor or head of a different talent management company helps her through her plans.... And yes you guessed it right ..~~~ Later they fall for each other.

First the plot is already overused ...there are tons of short dramas on exact same plot secondly the poor performance by the entire cast put that last nail in the coffin. I mean even with Daisy li as the lead this drama was just horrible. There is absolutely no excitement factor about the story and events are pretty much predictable. There is hardly any chemistry in the lead, thanks to the ML being such talentless hack.

A mini drama that demands no brain cells

A Mini plot with good pace and less BS. So,the FL enters the parallel realm of TV dramas to serve side character's request of making her husband regret betraying her. She using her wit and calculated moves destroys this man and his accomplice the green tea ( FL of that drama) thus passing the mission. There is not much complexity in the story in fact this was something a watched on the subway commute to my workplace and it was a good time pass.

One bound her in chains, the other set her free

This drama was an intense portrayal of an abusive relationship. If you’ve ever known someone trapped in such toxicity, you’d realiz,... it’s not just fiction, it’s a harsh reality for many in our society. The actors delivered powerful performances, especially the female lead and the deranged villain. Zuyi was charming, but the villain’s performance slightly outshone his. The ending, however, felt rushed, as the lecherous father didn’t quite get the punishment he deserved.

Overall it's watchable ..but even if you don't, you aren't missing on anything.

Meh~~

1. An average plot with independence era setting boring at times.

2. BGM is strange ..not displeasing but let's say I am not pleased either.

3. Lead cast is not very appealing.. FL okay-ish while the ML looked very plastic-y in the entire series. Moreover his appearance looked immature for the role.

Romance around Revolution

This drama was a fine watch. The story focuses on the time when China was under Japanese rule, showing not just the fight against the invaders but also the mess within their own corrupt army.

What I really liked was how they covered events over 7–8 years. For a short drama, it was surprisingly detailed. And the identity reveal of the secret character? Totally caught me off guard—not my first guess at all.

But...
I seriously want to know at what age did the ML start all this? He’s been undercover for nearly a decade and still looks like he just graduated high school. He was already a governor when he met the FL’s elder sister... did he start this whole mission at 12?

The cast did a great job everyone acted well and felt believable.

And the ending? Totally heroic. That shootout at Joy of Life was intense and dramatic definitely gave the story that finishing touch.

They say forgiveness is a virtue ..this drama denies that concept

I won't say complete forgiveness but in my opinion being friends with your cheater husband and his mistress is either stupidity or straight up foreplay to some explicit thought.😑 Anyways here's the review:

This is the story of a woman who fought her way through life's brutal punches—a serious illness and a failed marriage—only to rise stronger and finally discover her own purpose. The premise somewhat overlaps with Emergency Couple, where the FL builds her career post-divorce. But while Emergency Couple leaned more into medicine, this one is 90% family melodrama and only 10% medical, and honestly, it could’ve done better with tighter writing, more backbone and well.... more medical cases. 😏

The plot starts off well-paced, but eventually devolves into a draggy mess around the divorce arc. The FL’s complete denial of her husband’s cheating is so damn frustrating. Yes, some women can’t accept that even after being devoted and loving, their husbands might still cheat—but this level of delusion was outrageous. 😮‍💨😮‍💨

Let’s not even talk about her family’s role. The FL working under the mistress, who also has a daughter actively trying to reveal the truth, and they still think it’s okay to keep the affair a secret from her ? How delusional can you be? This wasn’t noble. It was just plain stupid.😮‍💨😮‍💨

Writing Flaws That Offended Me as a Woman

One of the most offensive aspects was how indecisive the FL was when it came to dealing with her garbage marriage. Instead of making a savage exit or serving some poetic justice, we’re served plate after plate of crying, hesitation, and internal conflict. Girl, throw him off the terrace , beat him to death ... Or just drag him by his collar to court—anything but this wet tissue approach.😬

I expected rage. I expected revenge, cause this man was literally disgusting ... He deserve it .. but What I got? emotional constipation and hesitance stretched over episodes.😒

Characters:

🔹 Doctor Cha (FL):

A fine protagonist—inspiring, graceful, kind, and empathetic—but the writer clearly confused graceful with weak and pushover. I’ll explain that in a bit.😐

🔹 Dr. Seo (ML or more like Male Trash):

Let’s just say it—he’s human scum. A disgrace, a walking pile of filth that should be buried next to the word shameless in the dictionary.😤

This man was dating the SFL (his so called first love), but sleeps with FL, gets her pregnant, and marries her. So far, so normal. But then he goes to the US for residency, meets the SFL again, knocks her up, and continues having steamy nights with the FL too—because surprise, she also gets pregnant.

Both women give birth to daughters nearly the same age. For 20 YEARS, he hides this double life. And that’s not even the worst part.👏

He never spends vacations with his wife and kids.

He and his lovely little mother treat the FL like a housemaid.

When FL is hospitalized with liver failure, this man refuses to donate his liver.

Oh but wait—he uses her disability card to park near motels where he’s off screwing his mistress.

Honestly, he deserved to be eaten alive by a rabid dog.

But this is a patriarchal K-drama, so of course—he gets a redemption arc. He donates his liver in the end and boom—all sins forgiven, apparently. Never mind the SML (second male lead) was ready to donate his liver for FL too. Nooo, our FL chooses to take this cheater’s disgusting organ and continues to be friends with both the mistress and her ex-husband after the divorce. 🤮🤮🤮

Excuse me—what kind of messed-up foreplay to some twisted adult content is this?

On the contrast this man is the answer to korea's shrinking population.. i mean he created 3 babies with two women quite a nice shot he got down there 🤭🤭

Mistress: Oh not even worth discussing... Just imagine a woman who has no bottom line. 😒

Cast : there isnt much to pinpoint ..all of them are seasoned actors .. been in the industry for decades ..they delivered the best. 🙃🙂

Final Thought

The message had so much potential: a woman reclaiming her life after being broken by illness and betrayal. But instead of giving us fire, the writer gave us damp ashes. They turned an empowering journey into a circus of unrealistic forgiveness, watered-down female rage, and the glorification of human trash in the name of "growth." 😐

Call it what you want, but I call it a waste of righteous anger.

Good story bad cast

This was one of the very first kdramas I ever watched I still remember it took me days to get it's bGM "goodbye my princess" out of mind. I found it very interesting at that time but now that I have seen around 100 kdramas I can say this one was mediocre. Reason:
1. the FL was just so so ... I was impressed by the wardrobe back then but now I have a proper understanding of good and bad acting as per korean industry and hers was bad ...very bad. ML wasn't very good either.
2. Slow pace .. thanks to fuller plot this didn't seem like a big issue though
But despite everything this drama is close to my heart for the fact that this was one of those dramas that introduced me to kdramas ... And it's BGM is so dope .. I still hear these songs every once in a while. ❤️

A 13- rating show

The plot is absurdly juvenile—a talentless girl miraculously becomes a sensational singer, not through hard work or skill, but by relying on the magic of a pendant. To make things even more ridiculous, this enchanted pendant transfers its power from person to person through kisses. While a weak plot can sometimes be overlooked, the acting in this drama is truly unforgivable. Even newborns in diaper commercials display more believable expressions than this cast of amateurs. That said, one redeeming factor was the female lead’s eccentric wardrobe. I’m not sure which label designed those outfits, but they were undeniably vibrant and stylish—absolutely loved them. Overall, this drama is forgettable at best. You won’t be missing much by skipping it.

Lie detector and Major Maserati sponsership

First of all it might seem very childish to mention it in the review but the cars used in this show were absolute beauties .. Maserati is my dream car and watching the various models running in this drama made me excited on different level ..HOPE SOMEDAY I CAN BUY MYSELF A MASERATI CAR.

Moving forward to more detailed review .. the story was basically very straight forward a girl can detect lies ( not the real truth) so the supernatural element was very limited to play with. Of course ! When i started watching this show I was anticipating her to use her ability in crime solving and stuff on regular basis but perhaps the writer wanted something else so he made her into a private lie detector or lie hunter who works freelance for money. Okay! fair enough! But for majority of the plot her ability doesn't direct the plot in any impactful way made me think what really is the purpose of adding this element...either way in the end her ability saved the day for ML and everything came together. The Twist in the end was something unpredictable for me.

The characters written are light ... I mean no character is overpowering things are going in cycle .. there is no serious villain for that matter ..each character has its own story.

Cast is decent .. ML is good actor but he can really work on his physique he looks malnourished. The scenes where he had piggyback the FL were painful to watch .. he needs to increase his protein in take and hit the gym ASAP. The second in my opinion was far more handsome, adorable , manly and strong. FL is without a doubt a supercool actress .. I am in love with her since bring it on ghost ..she is such cutie yet acts so mature ( 2-in-1) side cast is equally amazing .. a big SHOUTOUT to the actresses playing Cassandra and FL's mother both are my personal favs . Chemistry between leads is fine ..more to the soft side than passionate.
BGM is just okay nothing fab.
Overall it was a delightful show ..worth one time watching ( I will not rewatch it )

Exorcism & Endearments

Okay, so this show? Absolute fun. It’s got ghosts, action, suspense, comedy, and just the right amount of romance—all mixed in so perfectly that I couldn’t stop watching. The ML is the definition of perfection—smart, financially stable, kind, and loyal. Basically, the guy you’d root for in any story. The FL? A complete contrast, but in the best way—playful, charming, and just full of life (ironically, considering she’s a ghost). Their chemistry? Adorable. FL reminds me of Park Bo Young all the time.

Now, let’s talk about the so-called villain. MV was just… cheap. A literal psycho who lost his mind over a cat scratch—seriously? Are you on your periods or what? I expected some grand evil plan, but nope, he just decided to be gross and pathetic instead. Killing powerless animals and pulling third-rate horror movie stunt by suffocating a girl of life support system ~ Disgusting. Zero respect for this clown.

Honestly, the monk did a better job for a villain than MV ever could. That man’s jinx energy singlehandedly caused more problems for the leads than the actual bad guy just by throwing his bad advices their way . I swear, if bad luck had a human form, it would be him.

Anyway, despite that disaster of a villain, I loved this show. The humor, the spooky elements, the romance—it all just worked so well. Definitely rewatching this one!

Definitely not for those with below average IQ

This drama is not for viewers who struggle with non-linear storytelling. The plot constantly shifts between 2024 (the cause) and 2025 (the effect), requiring attention to details. The entire story is built around the theory of multiple dimensions of time and space, making it a challenging watch for those unfamiliar with such concepts in physics and mathematics. If you find it difficult to grasp the complexities of time loops and alternate realities, this may not be the best pick.

The story maintains a strong pace, with the characters relentlessly trying to alter fate. One of the most intriguing aspects is how the future visibly changes with every choice they make. This dynamic keeps the suspense alive and makes the storytelling engaging

The male lead (ML) and female lead (FL) are well-developed characters—mature, responsible, and intelligent. Their dynamic is compelling—she brings warmth and optimism to his darkness like sunlight, while he provides her with unwavering security like the biggest pillar. As a couple, they represent an ideal partnership built on mutual support, where both complete each other in a meaningful way.

However, the final antagonist could have been written with more depth. A more layered backstory and morally complex motivations would have made the character more compelling.

The cast delivers outstanding performances. Tu Bing is impressive in her role(watching her for the first time), and Fu Zhi Xian once again showcases his versatility. Having previously seen him in Be Your Knight, Dear Liar and Present is Present, it’s evident how effortlessly he adapts to diverse roles. Additionally, his chemistry with Tu Bing enhances the drama’s appeal.

The soundtrack complements the storytelling well, adding to the emotional depth to key moments.

Overall, it’s a well-crafted drama with a gripping narrative, strong character arcs, and excellent performances.
