Couture over content

You know, this drama could have been amazing—if they had spent their money on a decent screenwriter instead of blowing the budget on the most bougie costumes I’ve ever seen. Seriously, this might just be the best-dressed Republic Era drama to date. Even the male actors are out here looking like they stepped straight out of a high-fashion editorial.

But here’s the problem: all the confetti and silk can’t hide the fact that the plot is a joke. And not even the funny kind—more like a jack-in-the-box moment where you open it expecting something grand, but instead, a clown pops out. A very unimpressive, overhyped clown.

The characters? Over-exaggerated. The plot? As deep as a kiddie pool. The entire city revolves around two men who, for some reason, have decided to fight each other for… what exactly? Ego? Bragging rights? A golden participation trophy? Who knows.

And of course, we have our ML. He loves the FL. He chases her. Sweet. But he also keeps the vampy troublemaker chick around for reasons despite the fact that she’s constantly ruining things. He hates her, yet he won't get rid of her. Because why? Drama logic.

That being said, the cast? Not bad at all. Wang Yuan did a solid job, even though he’s not my favorite. The FL? A beauty. She actually reminds me a lot of the FL from Lighter and Princess. The chemistry between them? Fire. At least someone tried to salvage the script with their acting.

Now, let’s talk about the real MVP here: the wardrobe. Chef’s kiss. Everything from the costumes to the accessories? Perfection. If the story had even half the effort put into it as the fashion department did, this could have been a masterpiece.

The OST? Surprisingly decent. The background music really set the mood well—sometimes even better than the actual scene did.

Final thoughts? I watched it. I don’t regret it. But would I call it the best decision of my life? Not even close.

My patience's Slump

This drama starts off sluggishly, with the first seven episodes feeling like a test of patience. Luckily, it finally finds its rhythm though it dips back around episode twelve. 😑😑
Park Shin Hye’s portrayal of a submissive character was something new. Although her extreme botox and altered appearance took away the charm.

Park Hyung Sik brings his familiar charisma , my darling!!! he passes his virus to every FL ( ep 11 3:00- 4:00) how come he makes all his co actresses act cute in the same way .. he did the same thing in strong woman as well 😂 😂 😂 it almost feels like the man casts a spell on all his co- actresses.

The storyline Unlike the classic ER/trauma setup was little inclined to plastic surgery a theme very relevant to current Korean medical trend( though very less to do with medicine itself . This setup brings a fresh perspective, exploring PTSD among the aesthetic surgeons and showing that even plastic surgery has its high stakes.

A few things that I find extremely disliking about this drama is
1. The character of FL bestie.. this character was so frustrating and unnecessary. I mean really this might be my personal vendetta but I don't like people who don't respect boundaries and understand when to keep things private, especially during a sensitive time for you.the ML wanted to stay by FL's side during her harsh times but this insensitive woman spoke everything out, like she is the worst.Every time this ugly woman calls the FL saying ' I am not sure if telling you this will help her or not' .. like the STFU .. if you aren't sure just let it be ...
( I have met a woman very similar to this character and watching the same crap I was beyond myself with rage I was like just write a loose plot and hit her with a truck .. damn it !!! )

2. ML’s overly calm response to the FL’s accident, which feels out of place given the situation. Honestly I wanted him to loose some cool there instead of acting all doctor-ish and explaining it to her family. In real life nobody can act this calm no matter how successful of a doctor you are.

overall I am not impressed a fairly talented cast loss it's potential to a weak plot . This storyline would have been better if created into a movie instead of full length drama.
Totally not my cup of tea , so I am not recommending this one 😔 😔

I could have watched it till the end but everything at this point was pretty much predictable

On the whole i will say it was a good drama but streching it to 38 episodes seemed a lot .. so i dropped mid way, but I am sure a lot of people will love to watch it till the end.
Alright !!! the things that I felt made this drama worth your time are :

1) it has a lot of dynamics .. i mean apart from a classic betrayal-revenge plot ..story throws light on hyper possessive and abusive relationship... The need of women's financial independence and their need to keep balance with career and love life. In both past life and present lives , creators gave a strong lesson about importance of Women financial self dependence through FL character.. and criticised ML 's wish to keep her as his canary locked in the cage.
2) Good looking cast
3) it was refreshing to see a woman entrepreneur that too in the field of finance and investment... Otherwise we always see ML or male villain talking about things like stocks, stake holders , joint ventures, business acquisitions etc .. the way she manipulated her way to get revenge using the market fluctuations was very inspiring... ❤️❤️🫰🫰🫰OTHERWISE WE ALWAYS SEE FL SEDUCING THE VILLAIN ARCH ENEMY TO GET HER REVENGE, don't we ????

Things that were not so good about the drama:

1) though the cast is good looking but their acting wasn't very impressive.. in fact i dropped the show for that cause. story was already predictable at this point and with their bad acting there wasnt much left to watch.
2) plot was interesting till ep ,20 after that It suddenly lost its juice and turned boring.

You can give it a try

How cinderella would've felt after coming back from the ball

How Would Cinderella Have Felt After Coming Back From the Ball? After the magic wore off and Cinderella came back from the ball… how would she have felt about this entire thing? What would she have been thinking at 2AM after returning? Was she thinking about the slipper she left behind? Did she leave it on purpose? No… she wouldn’t have wanted the prince to see her shabby side.
ps: she wouldn't have thought of watching this drama. At least i am sure about that.

And this was the premise of this show that hooked me in. I was like, this is so real. We always think of this story from the prince’s POV—he got the slipper, he started looking for the girl—but nobody talks about Cinderella’s thoughts after coming back from the ball. But then it turned boring and stupid, so I dropped it. The end. The cast is okay. ML was good-looking, and FL is good-looking plus a better actor. She’s quite senior, so that’s a given. The rest of the cast… characters (from office coworkers to SML, to be exact) were annoying—especially the office coworkers. I don’t know what exactly their deal was, but they were just too nosy, beyond logic, immediately irritating. The storyline is straightforward. They made it into a drama, but this plot specifically deserved a 1.5-hour movie, not a 10-hour stretch. That’s exactly why it became extremely slow in the middle. Either way, I dropped it at episode 7. Because why not?

Hello! How are you? Fine .. thank-you... and you ?

After Guardians of the dafeng in cdrama and Mr. Queen in kdrama.. this was the only transmigration plot that had checked all the boxes for me. While writing most transmigration series, writers forget that their protagonist travelled through a time-space wrap and it's inevitable for them to carry that modern aura and attitude .. it's almost impossible for them to not use their modern habits and ideas no matter in which time zone or book/game world they end up in. I am glad this fact wasn't ignored here. The protagonists used their limited knowledge of the book script they entered as well as their modern knowledge to combat the challenges they faced in this foreign world. There were a few more twists like ML and FL (vamp in the book plot) traveled 16 years apart when she entered the plot he was already there for so long that his real life seemed like a dream to him. Her arrival was actually the point when he realised he doesn't belong to this world. Second was the arrival of another FL (real FL in the book).
It was pleasant to see that the writer emphasised less on bitch fights and unnecessary misunderstandings' cliche instead kept the pace smooth with logic and organic issues. Cherry on top was their idea of developing modern weapon prototypes to fight the war in that ancient setting... Chef's kiss.

The cast was fantastic. Chu Ran absolutely owned the FL character .. She was beautiful, charming, witty, spontaneous, and kind, ...just so lively and real. And then there’s Ryan Cheng, who surprised me in the best way. I had previously seen him in My Journey to You and The Legend of the Female General, where he mostly played quiet, serious, straight-faced characters. This time, he was talkative, energetic, and genuinely fun.His shifts between tyrant king and playful CEO were amazing. Plus the way his character unfolds from tyrant king to transmigrating modern CEO to someone who spent 16 long years in this dimension kept me second guessing.
Their chemistry was so natural and genuine... For two people stuck in a dangerous world with only each other for emotional survival. When every step might lead to doom, falling for the only person who truly understands you feels almost inevitable. And these two delivered it beautifully… ✨
And it was so cute watching him feed her... putting berries, grapes, plums or whatnot in her mouth all the time ..like he wasn't just showing love but straight up spoiling her. And to top it all He even built a tunnel from his bed chamber to her palace ... Seriously that was so sweet even beating the feeling of carrying her in your arms and flying in the sky as many xianxia wuxia couples do. Ahh !! So magical ...

Other than the writing and the cast, the styling department also deserves a praise. Just look at the FL’s outfits, her makeup, and all those delicate accessories. What a visual treat!!! Honestly, she looked like some divine goddess Absolutely mind-blowing.
And those nail or fingertip ornaments she wore, I’m not even sure what they’re officially called, but they were stunning. They added such an elegant, almost regal touch to her whole look. Every detail, from the fabrics to the jewelry, felt exquisite. Big shoutout to the styling dept. 🫰💫

And giving the remaining credit where it is due .. the 'music dept' .. BGM was outstanding ... All the songs were beautifully soothing and melodious but the show stopper was that last song of battle ... Full marks for that song alone.

To sum it all ..this was the type of drama I can proudly recommend ..go watch it ..enjoy it

Couldn't ignore the flaws.

The beginning of the plot is solid .. Story is not dragged at any point .. events and people keep coming serving their purpose and leaving, nothing is stretched over the threshold. Yet with all its good I can't help but complain about the insufficient efforts they given to write a good ending. Substance in the story pretty much ends with ep 32 after that is pure BS (skippable).
People here are complaining about logic loss in the entire story ..okay i understand a man taking over a woman place everything from height to physique is changed and no one is bothered seemed too illogical but that's how fiction works you have to let go of certain amount of logic to enjoy such plots .. If it were the part of a single event from whole context, I might say it's illogical but the sister brother swapping was the very core of the structure itself you have to take it as it is ..so spare the logic dont use it where it is not asked.

Moving forward to casting, leads were good ..I love zhou ye she brings life to anything she plays, her charm ... her spontaneity.. cheerfulness ... Is second to none in the chinese industry and I loved the fact she carefully chooses her projects. She did amazing job with he yan, she adopted her rough and rugged aura beautifully and acted her character with brilliance. Now the ML ..well I am a strong critic of Ryan cheng .. for some reason I am not yet convinced with his acting talent .. his expressions are just too restricted, rigid, monotonous and cemented. No doubt he is very handsome but he can't even flash a proper worrying expression for his beloved lying seriously wounded in his lap ... Below average to say the least {I am sure some people will come for my a** in comment section after reading this} kang le was good... He Clearly has looks and talent to lead big banner projects. About the rest of the cast no one caught my attention.

Asthetics of the sets to apparel were just so so .. passable for period drama but then military based drama is not about fancy outfits but about Nice action which was there in good amount. Though the movements in some fight sequence seemed too unnecessary...too extra ... like a couple dance holding swords instead of a proper fight (for instance the way they fought wutuo leader in last episode.) seriously who asked for this salsa x tango performance, it was so cringe.

There were five songs but only ' long cherished wish ' catered my taste.

Overall a good drama for one time watching definetely.. for re-watch you can just watch only the good parts sure there were lot of take aways.

Can't wait for season 2

Honestly!! They should just compile this and release it in theatres — it’s that damn good. The ratings here do absolutely no justice to this drama. It’s a solid 8.5+ banger, one hundred percent. I literally sat in front of my TV and watched the entire thing in a single sitting.

Plot:
Fallen god/supreme immortal — not “fallen” fallen, but sent back to restart his cultivation from absolute zero in Zhou Feiyang’s mortal body, a body that doesn’t even have a dantian. During his time in the mortal realm, he gradually understands the fundamental flaws in his century-long cultivation.

Characters:
Zhou Xi Shao (in Zhou Feiyang’s body):
I loved this ML. His arrogance, aloofness, confidence, and that perfect “I-can’t-care-less” attitude—sprinkled with just the right amount of kindness. And of course, all of this comes from his top-level cultivation. He’s the kind of person you simply cannot ignore, even if he's standing in a crowd.

Chen Qiushui (Fiancée #1):
Airhead-genius, in my opinion. She’s obsessed with superficial talent and completely ignores a person’s genuine character.

Yanran (Fiancée #2):
Beautiful and sweet, but honestly… quite hypocritical.

Bai Zhi (Fiancée #3):
The only fiancée who liked him despite his low cultivation. Respect.

Xiao Ran:
ML’s romantic interest and my favorite FL. She helps him discover the core flaw in his cultivation—truly living up to her title of “Master.”

Pan Luyu absolutely killed it as the ML.

The CGI was amazing, the action scenes were crisp, and my favorite part? The OST. It’s literally stuck in my head on loop right now.

Amazing drama. Desperately waiting for Season 2💕💕💕💕

Blame it on the lame writing

It was one of those dramas that people drop with lin first 5 episodes. The writer has no skill of story presentation. Even as a viewer i know you have press that impact in very first episodes to bind the viewers, whereas in this drama the first few episodes were the least impactful. Moreover the plot seemed quite confusing with events not in harmony with each other or the time leaps. Many a times you will find the time leap in the plot and what they mention in their dialogue doesn't match.
Moving forward it was a villain(s) oriented plot ..they just kept coming One after the other, whereas the temperament of the main leads was not convincing enough to tackle these. They could not provide the thrill that I was expecting from such case and criminals' long list.

Characters
Male lead is an investigating officer who is face blind (his face blindness made not much difference in the plot though). He was fine but not very smart in my opinion. If you consider closely none of his enemies was actually defeated by him, they either killed each other or committed suicide or well arrested by the other dept officer. He didn't achieve much without FL or other friends' help. It was frustrating to see his obsession with finding evidence and king's acknowledgement of his investigation😐 (while the king himself was a big loser his entire city is dumped in drugs for 20 years under his nose and he is waiting for god damn evidence 😮‍💨). He couldn't even fight the last villain who almost killed the FL. I personally don't prefer such ML. I like the ones who can play both sword and shield.

Yunxi luo did amazing job playing the lead ..he is one of my fav. He always bring his top-notch performance on the screen. It's always a delight to watch him.

Female lead was the real star for me. She is intelligent, beautiful, kind, street smart, loyal, successful businesswoman, resourceful and extremely focussed with whatever she does🤌. girl is dealing with a strange disease which makes her shapeshift around full moon, but she is smart enough to put this weakness to a good use and help ML with investigation. ❤️

It was my first time watching song yi work. I must say she is good . She has this unique charm that attracts the viewers plus her acting skills are also very nice.

Chemistry between the two is okay ... Yunxi 's chemistry with his co-actresses is often judged against his chemistry with bai lu ( that's a given their comfort with each other resonates on different levels) but I can't say Yunxi and song yi don't make a good pair.

Other characters
ML' sister: grown up brat who wants to own every person's secret and wants to be a part of every secret plan but can't keep any of these secrets to herself. She is a Big time troublemaker. ( Later turned goody-goody 😒)

Shang being li : hot blooded guard commander who acts before thinking ..very opposite to what our ML provides. NGL at many instances in the plot i liked him more than ML who was just .. well ...flat in his actions.

Tong sai er: country girl with good martial art skill .. she is loyal hard working and straight forward but aloof in love matters ..i liked this character a lot and she and the FL make a good duo

Other than that I liked also like phantom doctor/FL's mother character she was more helpful in 3 episode than the ML is entire series.

Music : the ost wasn't too impressive but other background song were so so so lovely ...THE SONG 'HEART'S LETTER' WAS THE BEST ... The BGM in this show made me remember the BGM of back from the brink( the most fav show so far) .

the cast did a great job with their respective characters but Blame it on the lame screenwriting the drama couldn't impress me much.

Caught in a nightmare which is disguised like a day dream

The story is a concoction of all the legendary cliches you come across in the short dramas you have watched so long ..it was modern to ancient time travel at the same time ... Body swipe ... Plus Dive into dream to bring the person back ..like literally all of that.
Plot is moderate paced but felt like story is missing some fragments, it's about a man who is caught in his own dream and is not walking up for years and the woman who enters his conscious mind to help with resolve his regrets and wake up into the real world . FL and ML are good looking but I wasn't very impressed with their acting specially FL her way to delivery dialogue was cringe ..though I don't dislike her either.
Ending wasn't very nice either .

Anyways I won't write any more ...this is the type of drama which can be both watched or skipped ..

weightlifting fairy lifting my heart ❤️

the show is a rom-com masterpiece, a perfect blend of comedy, romance, motivation, drama ,ups and downs . the straight approach oriented plot no twists and tricks yet giving the best delight to its viewers. i am not going to discuss the outlines of the story as this is a popular one and you have access to its various versions of synopsis on the internet .. so let's straight dive into the things i felt made this show so amazing for me:

1) straight and to the point approach : in most cases when writers dont have much twist/tricks to elongate a story, it often comes out a boring plot full of cliches and over abused comedy punches, like a total lacklusture sort of drama . but that wasnt a case with this one ..even with the 'no bullshit' approach this drama was able to keep the viewers engage.

2)cast : very talented cast : some of them like lee sung kyung, nam joo hyuk are my absolute fav ..and the casting director deserve all the appreciation for casting actor who have some experience in that sport to play the sportsperson for example kyung soo jin playing role of song hi (gymnast) was a practicing gymnastic in real life as well ... kyung sung bulked up and did weight trainings play the weightlifter...this type of professionalism increase the value of the drama on whole different level.
plus there were few guest appearances.(byeon wosoek etc)

3)comedy : punches were refreshing nothing vulgar of the sorts ..and there were both verbal and physical comedy ... her walk alone was enough to make me forget biggest worry of my life ..she was just too good.

4)life lessons : this show demonstrated a lot of young people's shortcomings ad worries in present day life .. like carrier pressure, love life situations , family problems ... and the healthiest and very logical way to deal with them.

few things that i think missed the purpose for me

1)music : i dont know this might be my personal POV but the music including everything from background music to ost suck' .. i missed a compulsory rap that ost sports based motivational drama always have plus the romantic background songs had no male singer so it kinda feel strange not to have a background melody to convey the ML's feelings.

2) the part where they show FL and the ex GF playing sister/friends was too superficial ..she even helped her hide the boy in closet ..that part was so unnecessary and unrealistic at the same time ..i dont know why they even put it there ..

okay so that is it ... you should definitely check this one out
rewatch value : very high.( i am watched it 5 years ago and watching it again while writing the review)

XoXo

And the LEGACY continues with new lead faces

Well !! After finishing Season 1, it was hard not to miss the original cast...like seriously ... While Ahn Hyo Seop and Lee Sung Kyung are my absolute favourites , it was natural to feel nostalgic for the previous crew. However, if you watch Season 2 with some time gap between, you’ll love this season just as much as the first.

The side cast largely remains the same providing continuity and despite the change in leads, the team dynamic is still strong. The interactions and relationships among the characters remain compelling, with Teacher Kim once again at the center, mentoring and guiding the new doctors with his usual brilliance.

Just like in the first season, the medical cases are accurate and informative. The terminology and procedures are correct, which adds authenticity to the show. However, I felt like there were fewer medical cases this time around compared to Seas

The chemistry between the new leads is wonderful And Their shared history as classmates gave their love story a cutesy feel to it . The male lead though talented has a troubled past involving his family and a senior doctor who lost his license over illegal surgeries. While our the female lead struggles with OR phobia and can't perform surgeries.

Teacher Kim’s role as a wise mentor is still intact he helps both leads with their respective issues thus nurturing them into brilliant medical practitioners

What sets this season apart:

1. The previous season was more or less about cases involving common people but this time it was given A political edge, particularly with a major case involving the Minister of Defense.

2. The number of medical cases is lower with the focus gradually shifting towards a trauma center setup from the previous hospital setup.

3. The leads have more complex and morally grey backstories compared to the previous ones.

Definitely worth watching 💕💕

average time travel theme with feel-good to it

another " time travel to change your future" theme drama ... story was interesting in the beginning but arounf 7-8 episode it became somewhat slow and monotonous .. though the ending was okay ... half of the show has modern setting while the rest is somewhat retro ..or 90s theme .. characters were lively and contrasting.

does it offers you anything new and refreshing .. ans is NO ..you can fairly predict the whole story line easily in the most initial episodes yet the feel good thing about this drama will make you to keep watching it till the last

Shin Presents: 'Ren Jia Lun and His Collection of Bad Scripts'

It seems this actor has a sixth sense for picking scripts with unnecessarily tragic endings. Sometimes the sacrifice makes sense; other times, it just feeds his typecast. I’ve watched five of his dramas so far, and without fail......he either dies in the end or leaves his beloved for... well, anything. Including planting some so-called "Carefree Herbs."

His script choices also seem to come with a strict no-kissing, no-intimacy clause. Whatever the reason, that void has become far too obvious now. Thanks to his image, perfectly happy novel endings are twisted into tragedy just to suit his persona. Damn it.

Anyway, let’s talk about the drama itself. My excitement went up and down like a rollercoaster:
The beginning was okayish. Then it got boring. The painting case brought back some intrigue. Then boredom returned. By the time the finale approached, I found myself desperately manifesting a happy ending because honestly, that was the bare minimum this plot deserved. But the writer couldn’t even deliver that. The ending was laughably stupid. It felt like the writer wanted to mold him into a legendary hero who prioritizes duty over love, but instead, it just came off as lame.

Twelve years of shuttling between the human and demon worlds, exhausting his two-way pass, and yet the Carefree Herbs were still withering. What purpose did that segment even serve? Beyond me.

The female lead’s character was poorly written. Most of the time, she felt like an unnecessary liability—no fighting skills, no brains to outsmart villains, yet she constantly pokes her nose into dangerous situations and other people’s business. That said, Song played the role beautifully.

As for the leads' chemistry? The spice factor was completely missing.

Honestly, the side cast outshone the leads. I absolutely loved the rabbit boy.

On a brighter note, the ending tracks were superb.

That’s pretty much it.

It was one of a kind ~ we need more dramas like this

The plot is One of a Kind delicately captures the political nuances and shifting dynamics in China and its surrounding regions after World War I, particularly following the fall of Germany. Over the course of 48 episodes, we witness the profound influence of Russia, Japan (most prominently), the US, and the UK in North China. Given the historical context, I can't help but feel that this is the version that made it past the censorship filters of the CCP-affiliated board,... leaving me to wonder what the real cost of freedom must have been in those times.
If someone asks me to recommend a similar show i cant... Sure genres can be replicated but the plot was entirely unique .

The pacing is deliberately slow, as the story doesn't strictly begin or end.. it simply follows two years in the lives of AMA cadets during their graduation period. What surprises me, however, is just how much happens in that short span: military standoffs, shootouts, undercover operations, kidnappings, bombings, political intrigue, coups, and financial crises. The odds feel stacked, and at times it seems as though the writer mistook this small military academy for the only functioning institution in all of China. From something as pivotal as the Twenty-One Demands to something as trivial as an underground fight club, everything ties back to the academy and its cadets. It's a lot—even for fiction. That said, I was never bored, so I'll let it slide.

Where the writer truly shines is in character development. The first half is heavily dedicated to the parallel leads, especially Qu Manting. Wu Jiayi delivered a phenomenal performance, completely overshadowing Bai Lu in the first 20–25 episodes—something I never thought possible. Her character is written with immense care, and she plays it with savage precision. Every single-breath-dialogue-delivery, every expression, and her chemistry with Xu Kai? Chef's kiss.

As for the leads, Xie Xiang (or Xie Liangchen) felt lackluster, and Bai Lu struggled to bring much depth to the role. For most of the show, she wore the same dull expression. Even Gu Yanzhen wasn't given much to work with, but Xu Kai's effort and expressive acting made his character worth watching. The type chemistry (in-organic) between the leads wasn't my cup of tea, for most of the series they were not involved with each other so that romantic aspect was very much missing.
On a side note, Bai Lu must have been injured multiple times during filming—her hands were visibly wounded even in scenes with no prior action.

The OST is just okay. I wasn't particularly fond of the "Romeo and Juliet" track, so I won't rate the music highly.

However, the costumes, weapons, set design, and impressive casting all reflect the high production value of the show.

Overall, I truly enjoyed this drama. It could have been improved if the writer had involved other institutions or cadets in filler plots—centralizing everything around AMA felt a bit forced. Still, One of a Kind is absolutely worth watching.

Shared Senses, Shared Shenanigans

A Little 'not-really-a-spoiler' kinda spoiler 👇

WRITER IS CONFUSED ~~

Previously, the ML had no senses no emotions but great kung fu skills and internal qi, then, he swapped with FL, her senses became numb cause they were transferred to the ML and in exchange she receives his kung fu and internal qi now ML can feel through his senses and his emotions are also on-point .. practically, here the FL should've become emotionally numb cause her emotions are transferred to the ML but to its contrary she is behaving more emotional than before ..of course, she is carrying a poker face cause writer anyway wanted to convey the same but cause story can't move forward without the misunderstandings, we see her getting angry with ML over him being alleged murderer of her family. We see her getting happy after meeting her long lost sister, we see her displaying all sort of emotions.

This type of Not-owning-to-their-own-bullsh*t is quite common in asian writers ..they always pick a bizzare scenario with bizzare nuisances but couldn't carry them the way they are supposed to be carried out till the end.

Okay that's enough with complaints let's talk about the drama.. the overall story is quite enjoyable there is good ROMANCE with healthy...uh! Almost healthy leads relationship (minus this one time when FL wanted to kill ML) , COMEDY with their sweet pulling each other's legs moments especially once they discover the secret behind their switching , SUSPENCE around a larger than life villain.. but yeah!! I can't deny i was anticipating more action for that martial arts swiping. They provide some but it was far less than enough.

WXY did an amazing job as ML especially when you think he must be only 19 or 20 years old at that time, you can actually fathom the depth of his talent. And I remember it was around the same time he played negative role in one and only 🫢🫢🫢 ~~~ unforgettable.

Taking about the FL,, bu guan jin ..first of all let me just drop a petition on MDL to change her DP ..she looks absolute horrible in this pic ..infact if it weren't for this pic her dramas might have had more viewers. I loved her acting ..her looks are okay-ish but she deserves more recognition for her acting talent alone.
The chemistry between leads was good...nothing RDX worthy but manageable.

Side cast was equally talented , there were a lot of familiar faces like li jui lin, dingluan, zi hao, the ctors playing emporer and empress.

Styling was basic yet royal like it should be for a period drama setting. OST was good but forgettable.

Overall! I enjoyed this drama, of course! with my trusted SKIP button.
"TOTALLY RECOMMENDED"
