I'm officially done with exams and am on holiday till February🥳🥳🥳I was planning my first official rewatch but I've decided to wait till I'm back at home...in the comfort of my own bed🥹🥹

IMO Douban is much better cause its an equal opportunity offender. In China every single famous person has black fans who will inevitably spam 1star reviews...every single one....so it all kind of cancels each other out cause the number of black fans is also directly linked to the number of black fans. It balances each other in the end...no matter how unfair it can be...its fairer than most.

Here...internationally there are faves. Those faves literary have to fart and its unanimous 5 star reviews. And some are almost entirely discriminated against cause of one reason or another that has been perpetuated throughout the international circle so they will always be judged much harsher...there's no balance.

And atleast on Douban there are literally steps to take before you rate for your rate to count...you cant just rate in 3seconds like here....and unlike here where people can have 5000 spam account....douban's id requirement for accounts limits things a little...and they also filter out spam looking reviews and ratings. Generally the system isn't as simple as Mdl....its not perfect but its much better IMO.

That's the mdl cesspool for you....even AI slop is more coherent than most of the morons and lowlifes who jump around here ...instead on focusing on their own shitty lives...why oh why do they have to be so deep China's AI endings?

Girl we can just be glad that MDL literally means nothing...not a goddamn thing in China....so they won't be affected by the weird people on here. This drama is exactly what happens when dramas are kept in the vault for years and by the time they are released, the themes are very irrelevant and intolerable.

The source novel of this was written a bajillion years ago when female torture and 'forced love' was hot...maybe if it was released 2 years back it would have worked out but in the current climate.....this tortured misunderstanding love really isn't it.

I blame Youku quite honestly. They know the industry has trends but they still act arbitrarily and release whatever, whenever.

that's the thing though.....even when people say or think its for no reason...there usually is one....sometimes not a direct one but one nonetheless; trauma, they remind you of something you like, past relationships making you.want the exact opposite...something.

And Hioki...cute? I donno....he tends to act like he thinks of himself as burdensome and i actually agree....he's exhausting.

You know MDL .....if the boy and girl aren't shoving their tongues down each other's throat every 2 episodes and fighting for their forbidden love (the forbidden aspect being the fact that his cousin's barber's maid's chauffeur's barrister once kissed her uncle's grandpa) while simultaneously going through 12 tribulations for no reason and dry humping every Thursday for some reason......it's probably gonna be a very low rating.

Wow....i want to like this but i can't for the life of me justify the ml liking Hioki...he's so....bland .....i CAN'T root for them. I know a lot of such shows which claim the hot guy likes the not so famous or hot guy for no reason but usually i find even the tinsiest bit of reason....it doesn't even have to be a GOOD reason...just one.

inner demon (心魔 - xīn mó) is a psychological or spiritual blockage, a profound internal conflict that prevents someone from reaching their full potential. Kinda like...trauma.

For the arrow guy, his character's entire identity was kinda built on his strength. His crushing defeat by Su Muyu shattered that identity. He can't move past the loss. He constantly replays the defeat in his mind, obsesses over the Su Muyu's strength (i remember a scene where he said he would work hard to prove he wasn't beneath Su Muyu) and that desire for revenge and simply to prove himself consumes him.

This means every time he tries to break through to a higher level, the memory of his defeat surfaces and ruins his concentration. That time when Su Muyu defeated him has become...his trigger ....so inthat array where you 'demons' appear...Su Muyu is his; he is the living embodiment of the guy's failure. So he had to either healthily accept the defeat, find a new purpose, or win against Su Muyu....else he will always be his inner demon.


For Bai Heihua....Su Muyu was a different demon......he is her "Heart Demon" (情魔)

From the many cultivation books I've read, its a general notion that attachments to worldly desires....especially romantic love...can be a major obstacle to reaching the highest levels of power, which often require a clear and detached heart.

That scene was basically telling us that Bai Hehua's feelings for Muyu are so strong that they cloud her judgment and disrupt her inner peace and in turn her advancement and growth.

She had to overcome that....overcoming this doesn't necessarily mean she stops loving him; it means she must achieve a state of peace with her feelings, whether that means letting go or loving him without obsession.

That's how i interpreted it atleast. The inner demon and with deviation is a very common issue in these cultivation things lol.
