The Douban ratings finally came out: 3.9/10 (booooo!!!!!)(Don't believe? Here is the URL: https://www.douban.com/search?q=%E9%95%9C%C2%B7%E5%8F%8C%E5%9F%8E)I…
BTW, guys you see the animated version done by Tencent? It's very highly rated compared to the crap Croton churned out (scroll down on link in above post where anime got 7.x/10 and that is a proper Tencent production). Croton ruined a very interesting IP. Hope Tencent can make up for it by making a remake (live action) or perhaps a movie!

I suspect Croton paid/bribed Douban not to release the ratings until very much later. Ratings for ALP came out very soon but M:TC took weeks. There is foul play involved. Croton isn't as honest a company as Tencent!

Anyways, remember ALP? Started off 4.x/10 then slowly climbed up to 5.x/10. M:TC most of the episodes already aired, be lucky if it broke high 4.x/10.

M:TC the first drama I ever like dropped dropped after Ep10 for it being crap quality drama. And at least I watched ALP and SSS to the very end last episode!

First 10 minutes of The Autumn Ballad way better than all the 10 episodes of M:TC I've watched so far. My day is made! Croton gives China such a poor international image. Conjures up impression of shoddy workmanship... I'm not normally into Ballad type of work/genre but I need something to wash away the bad taste in my mouth left from 10 excruciating episodes of M:TC.

Even though I have come to love this drama despite my initial dissatisfaction. I am still confused about one thing.…
It's not a Tencent drama. Tencent too embarassed to show it on WeTV.

Lol, I tried to resume episode 11 after 2 week hiatus. I still cannot take how crappy the drama is. It's subpar crap designed to milk money from TV channels. I'm disappointed Tencent let the IP slipped thru their hands. They're the only company capable of doing justice to this work of art, not this crap made by Croton!!

Tencent has posted hundred low quality dramas on wetv over the years. Stop talking nonsense. This drama is better…
Tencent Video is China entity. WeTV is international version. All the crap shows that got aired on Tencent Video never made it to WeTV.

I don't know about that...Crappy Chinese dramas already exist on WeTV. It makes no difference if they add one…
Name a crappy show on WeTV shown recently. I dare you to say You Are My Glory, Douluo Continent, ALP, SSS are crappy TV shows because the visuals and story telling rival a lot of shows coming out of America!

M:TC rivals shiet coming out of America. Even mundane shows like Supergirl beats M:TC hands down.

WeTv has crappy dramas, actually 😀 Even recently I watched one, well overall it was weird but fun, but in the…
You just proved my point. WeTv for international audience Tencent Video for China audience. Tencent Video doesn't care about ppl who watched Western Tv shows held to much higher quality standards

Guys, I will answer your questions why M:TC does not appear on WeTV:

The way to think of it is that if a drama releases in China, it only has to compete with other (potentially) crappy mainland dramas. But if it gets released on WeTV, which is the international branch of Tencent, it then has to compete with Western dramas too! No way something like M:TC, with crappy CGI, crappy editing, crappy filmography, crappy screenplay is competitive with any TV show from the West!

Yeah I know you find M:TC with ENG subs on other ENG-based websites like Viki Youtube, etc. But those sites don't have an international image/reputation to maintain. Tencent does!

Just let it be fuel for your imagination, it's not like a movie you go see at the Theaters.
Not a movie you go see at theaters?!?!? Are you for real? Have you seen Sword Snow Stride? CGI pets that looked and acted so real I wanted to reach out and touch them. Also Xu Fengnian riding on lake turtle... I couldn't believe I was seeing that kind of SFX in a TV series! That's Tencent magic for ya, they are the de facto CGI powerhouse of China. This M:TC looked so lame in SFX when u put side by side any Tencent production!

Hello, does anyone know why is this drama series not on WeTV?
It's not true. WeTV is Tencent international reputation. One bad drama (with crappy script/CGI) will destroy the reputation Tencent worked so hard to build. The ones that don't show up on WeTV don't meet quality control for global audience.

BTW, if you ever watched Super Mario Bros 3 on YT, Japan got a very crappy release of the game. They had to polish it up a lot to release in North America so the global version of SMB3 nothing like the Japanese version. Same thing this Croton drama only suitable for China release not global audience!

Just think of WeTV as an automatic quality filter. Dramas that don't release there not worth watching! This Tencent is a big big China company that actually cares about its global image...

Croton not the right producer for this IP. The airships look so lame (compared to anime version). What bugs me the most is the same (very crappy) CGI techniques used in 3L3W are used here. Every scene with CGI in the drama makes me cringe because it looked like some kid who got access to Photoshop did the effects, not a professional CGI studio!

That wasn't Su Mo choking her it was the demon magic spirit who possesses him.
Right OK, please tell me whose hand choked Bai Ying. Nah those hands don't belong on Su Mo's arms nor his body!

LoL. If I was living in China, I'd report the scene to China censorship, have them freeze the drama for review.

If you follow the plot closely, you’ll know SuMo was possessed in that scene, because he practiced dark magic.…
Yeah okay. Zhang Wuji also thought the same thing. He thought Zhao Min killed his "brothers" that's y he nearly choked her to death. Also wasn't in the sane state of mind. Are we supposed to be OKAY with such scenes existing in a PG-rated drama just coz the ML wasn't in the right state of mind?

He choke her as a kink thing some sort of sexual thing or he was angry at her so he was chocking her out of male…
Nope that was the script writer choking their FL. The fook try copy a scene from Heaven Sword Dragon Saber. Jin Yong isn't God. I find his works are crap that y he never got a good drama made from them decades after publication! Not a single one, they kept churning out crap adaptations after adaptations of his works...

Exactly. The script writer felt the need to express male dominance/sexual kinkiness by having the ML choke the FL (literally almost killed her). I think the main reason they chose CYQ actress is because if China censorship decided to crack down on such scenes, they could say she did a similar in Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber so as to avoid blame, etc.

BTW, guys, how would you feel if your daughters watched dramas with such scenes?

On Mirror: A Tale of Twin Cities Jan 25, 2022
One of the most off-putting scene in this drama... The ML gotta choke the FL to near death to make her fall for him again. I think this the primary reason they chose Chen Yu Qi as Bai Ying. She been thru a similar scene in Heaven Sword Dragon Saber where the ML nearly choked her to death, and she fell in love with him because of it. What do our female viewers think about how such dramas treat women?!?!

BTW, if it was Tencent, such scenes would never make the final cut. Tencent too high class for such vulgarity!

This drama doesn't do Zhao Min actress any justice. Role doesn't let her display any kind of emotions or exhibit naughty behavior like in Heaven Sword Dragon Sabre. I kept thinking they could have swapped her with any other idol drama actress and it wouldn't have made a difference.
