The age gap thing... people need to get over it. It's part of acting.
Age gaps happen often between actors including in reverse. . It may not make everyone comfortable but they are both legal adults. She could have passed on the script if she was uncomfortable with it.

M dad was 30 and my mom 19 when they met. They got married a year later and stayed together 41 years until my dad passed away from ALS.

my guess is that they wanted to pick up viewers who missed parts of the story.

Or scheduling wise...
the script maybe to short for all of the weeks they have to air
or the Lunar new years in coming up they may be trying to balance their airing schedule in advance
or there was some other tv event competing with the show in the same airtime

SBS’s Wednesday-Thursday drama “The Last Empress” has announced a few scheduling changes to its upcoming episodes. On January 11, a source from the drama stated, “At 10 p.m. KST on January 16, we will be airing a ‘The Last Empress’ special that plays like a highlight reel of the 32 episodes that have aired so far. Therefore, episodes 33 and 34, which would have originally aired on January 16, will air the next day on January 17.”

It airs tonight so the wait is nearly over.

BBQed but still breathing...this drama is like a chess game on steroids.

Since being in Korea for a good portion of the last 6 months I have slowed down on my drama viewing. I am not sure it this is why my list is so short or if I found the options less interesting. I did drop several more than usual in 2018. I also found t-dramas, often my second favorite, as well as C-dramas, J-drama and Lakorn, didn't make much of an impression this year either.

Anyway these are the Kdramas I enjoyed the most....

At the moment I'm watching The Last Empress and Cleaning With Passion For Now.
I am sure I missed a few dramas from 2018 I need to go back and watch.

It was recently reported that there are 45 conglomerates that fit the traditional definition of a chaebol, according to Korea's FTC . The top 10 own 27% of SK's business assets. If you think about the number of children and grandchildren under the umbrella of those companies...It's a reasonable amount of heirs.

It's pushed back. The air dates show up on Netflix in Korea for the next four episodes on Jan 8th, 9th, 15th and 16th.

It seems unlikely...yet it's a drama so anything is possible. There are 6 weeks to go and she has been a main part of the story.
It seems unusual to take her out so soon. On the other hand her entire history has been exposed, there are plenty of enemies lurking around in and out of the shadows to keep the plot moving forward. If they keep her on it could be annoying, I'm hopeful the part she plays is really finished.

I wouldn't be shocked if they bring MYR back ... It's a bit soon to kill her off with this only being the halfway mark in the story, but anything is possible in dramaland.

This is cute...Nothing epic but an easy to watch enjoyable drama.

I loved most of the cast but wow... the script was horribly disappointing.
I am usually pretty forgiving but I am struggling to give any stars after ep 8.

This drama ...feels like a script from 2011.
The story is dragging..the villain is crazy, the parents and agency owner are selfish... I don't get the point of the secrets being secrets anymore. The only person I like is the younger brother, but I don't get why they wrote him out of the story.

It is him, If you freeze it when there is 1:56 remaining, you can see his side profile. I agree...It is pretty annoying they didn't show his face while hugging her.
