I loooved the beginning of this, with the dark tone, twisted characters & fantastic acting. There was so much potential here. Then halfway through it started to get repetitive and nonsensical, and it just got worse. The characters were so underdeveloped too. With the Do Hyeok storyline it completely lost me; it felt pointless and didn't go anywhere. There were still some cool things towards the end, some interesting resolutions, but they were snowed under by the nonsense.
I must say, this is one of the few K-drama's where I was really captivated by the childhood trauma part though. Usually I think those drag on too long and I tend to skip through them, but here it was really well done.
Decided to take the advice of some of you to just stop watching at episode 13. I was already losing the plot and there felt like a good, natural ending. It was absolutely gorgeous, the acting & ost were great, the story meh, didn't really need more of it.
It started out decent, easy entertainment, but man those last two episodes π€£ The last one was so bad it almost made me forget what I liked about this in the first place. The second couple was cute though, and the merman aesthetic was nice.
I wanted to wait with watching this until more episodes were released, not get swept up in the new Chinese BL on air hype, yet here I am swept up in the hype. The first episode wasn't that interesting, but the second definitely has me hooked π₯° The chemistry is amazing. the ML is messed up af, I'm here for it.
Nobody is fan of that thick head character. Pmo so much.
Honestly I loved him. Sure, he was an idiotic a**hole most of the time, but like Shao You, he's also secretly caring and kind-hearted, just more awkward about his feelings. And yes, a mouth faster than his brain π€£ He could be so funny too, he made me laugh a lot.
I feel you about the character development though, it would've been nice if there was a bit more towards the end. He definitely had the least development out of the four main characters
Pretty decent last episode. Other than a couple of unnecessary scenes, I have no real complaints. I loved the ending for the main couple, they were so adorable together & with their Peanut. I also loved how the final line was Sheng Shao You calling Hua Yong a little maniac, so lovingly. The heart of this series right there.
Shen Wen Lang & Gao Tu... It would've been nice to see just *a bit* more of their reconciliation. Wen Lang's reaction to the pregnancy was ridiculously stupid too, even for him, but I'm glad they didn't drag their separation out as much as in the novel.
Just caught up on the latest episode. I ended up loving this series so much π I can't believe it'll already be over tomorrow. I'll miss these characters.
This is the only series so far of which I read (the entire) web novel. It was pretty good, it really got me more immersed in this world.
Pretty good short drama. Despite some silly plotlines and ridiculous characters, I enjoyed this a lot. The chemistry between the ML & FL is great & I just loved the overall aesthetics & vibe of this.
Just saw the magazine with TXN π The pictures are so gorgeous! One of them immediately became my phone wallpaper haha. Interesting little interview too.
Also, did anyone else actually really like the snakes in RL and become inspired to get one as a pet? After weeks of (re)searching & planning, I picked up my new snow corn snake last Sunday! I love him so much. I had wanted a new pet anyway & a snake ended up being perfect π
At episode 7 of re-watching it and it's crazy how much already happens in just the first few episodes. And how nostalgic it already feels. I still love every moment so much. I definitely won't forget this summer π
How are we dealing with the withdrawal? Still lingering here. Wanting at least 5 more episodes of this love chaos.
I'm rewatching it and not dealing with withdrawal π Also some BTS and highlights.
Although, I must say I've been doing better over the past week. I'm going pretty slow with the rewatch and have been keeping busy with other things. I started watching something else too, Stay With Me. It's nice to watch something of which all episodes are already out and there's not the currently airing anticipation and craziness, for a change of pace. I've also been watching ABO Desire, though I'm nowhere near as invested in it as RL
I need one entire episode of Shen Wenlang and Hua Yong bickering! ππ or an episode of Shen Wenlang and Sheng…
Haha, Shen Wenlang and Hua Yong bickering is definitely one of my favourite things in this series π The more I see/hear them together the more they make me laugh. No one can call out Hua Yong like Shen Wenlang can
Finally finished this, can't really recommend it. The plot was such a mess. The characters were likeable enough though and their love was wholesome. The second couple was nice too
At first I was just really disturbed about the blatant SA, but after reading through the comments I sort of understand the omegaverse logic behind it. For someone who's encountering the omegaverse for the first time, these things are shown pretty badly in this series.
I'm intrigued to see where it'll go from here though
