It's taken me no joke two months to watch the first 9 episodes, but it's like savouring a bar of chocolate. I can't watch too much at once, but I absolutely love every episode when I watch it.
Getting through the first three episodes is the hardest because of the runlength being an hour and a half. It takes a while to get used to the pacing and warm up to the characters but once you do, watching feels like soaking in a bubble bath.
Each character is so charmingly written especially Joon Ho and Je Hyuk. Their friendship is lovely and heartwarming. Episode 9 was my favourite so far because of the backstory on their friendship and the focus on Joon ho's character.
same I am in episode 10 right now. I didn't like the love triangle, there was no chemistry between the ML and…
I agree, her saying I love you to the ML was so cringe because the whole romance felt like it came out of nowhere and went way too fast, and a lot of it while she was under the impression they were related and ML was okay with her thinking that as well 🤢
literally the moment before she said I love you, I was thinking this has gone way too fast, why do they even like each other it's so unrealistic, and then she came out with that and I had to pause and take a moment lmao
Tried the first episode on a whim for fun. I liked Gong Myung in Way Back Love. So far this is a little boring but we'll see. My sister is an alcoholic and I can see a lot of the similarities between her and the FL drinking habits.
One thing I told my sister to get her drinking under control and something I follow, is never drink alone. No exceptions. Once you're solo drinking you're also solo levelling up your alcohol dependency. I noticed the FL doing that a lot. Clear sign. Only drinking with other people also means much fewer opportunities to drink.
Alcohol is meant to be a social drink, but also if you have friends where you never meet them except to drink, that's something to be addressed. And no drinking alone also means only drink if the person you're with is also drinking. My sister would ask if I wanted to drink and I would refuse, so she wouldn't be able to.
At that point in time she had been drinking and getting absolutely hammered every night by herself. When I introduced this rule, she actually listened, but that's because she wanted to stop and get her life back on track. It takes the will of the addicted person and someone to hold them accountable.
There are two things I'm currently very confused about. 1. What exactly is the Bureau of the Blind purpose? Like,…
1. I don't know, but best guess it's like communal living for blind folks to help them in their daily lives though it seems to be all men? I haven't finished the eighth episode yet so I'm hoping that will be enlightening a little bit. after watching a bit more they are calling them blind pansus and pansu is a term for a male sorcerer. in the episode they state they are basically the alternative since no Buddhist temple can enter the palace walls and shamanic rituals have to be performed 2.5 miles from the palace. so they do a bit of work for superstitious folk in the palace. Also shamanism is forbidden due to the royal religion (catholicism). the king is trying to keep the rituals and stuff on the very down low, as well as Yeo Ri's true purpose in the palace. 2. I think we will get an explanation for why GangCheol doesn't want to or can't kill to ascend. There's a lot of Gangcheol's background that we just haven't been given yet :/
