Every day I can't emphasize enough how much the additional arcs have enhanced the story. In the novel LYS is so pitiful. His mom never makes an appearance and his maternal family is filled with toxic people. I remember when he considered majoring in business to carry on his father's legacy, someone from the family revealed the truth about his father's death to discourage him from pursuing that path. In the drama, LYS's mom and stepdad are such good people. It soothes my heart to know that LYS has both his mom and stepdad supporting him.
From memory there was no ski arc in the novel but I really loved the inclusion. Thats what's great when the screen…
I loved the ski arc even more because it actually showed NXG slowly and naturally falling in love with LYS. We can see her feelings change, with LYS gradually taking over her heart. In the novel there wasn't much development between LYS's confession and NXG's acceptance of his proposal. NXG giving LYS permission to pursue her and every scene since then was a treat to watch.
They should have shown our three cuties having a late-night dinner instead of that ZX. They are so adorable together and there may not be many scenes of them together in the future. What a waste!!
The only scene with JerkXu that I liked today was when he overheard NXG and LYS being lovey-dovey on the phone. Gu Man and director, we can tolerate that jerk on our screens only for moments like this.
Episode 21 was full of JerkXu, Cheater Nie, his mistress and her green tea bitch daughter and LYS's useless uncle. Why do we have to see them on our screens on new year??
The relationships and bonds among siblings often become strained when it comes to inheritance. People can kill…
For the first one, yes, he goes back to the hospital. He gets the share but the book doesn’t mention what he does with it. As for the second one, that scene is one of my favorites. Our girl plays that useless, lazy nepo baby character so well! 🤣🤣

Actually there is nothing in the book about who inherits the company. They might address that in the drama as many plots are being added or they might not. Xingjie’s mess-up occurs almost at the end of the book and after that, there is a conversation between LYS and his grandfather where his grandpa asks him what he should do next. LYS mentions one of his female cousins who is actually competent. After that we never find out what Grandpa decided. Book 2 feels like it has a lot of gaps with many things left unaddressed. The drama adaptation seems to be better so we can only wait and see what happens.

I am 99% sure that Grandpa would have let LYS inherit the company if he had continued working there. Xingjie also messed up and was transferred to another branch. Due to his declining health Grandpa have to pass the responsibility to someone else. Grandpa gave the 51% share of the solar panel company to LYS, while he never gave anything to his son-in-law or daughter. This shows that Grandpa would have changed his mind because his sons and grandsons are useless.

LYS's uncles are utterly useless. At one point, I am sure they were afraid that Grandpa Sheng might change his mind. He raised two of his grandsons, LYS and Sheng Xingjie under his wing. Xingjie was directly announced as the future heir, showing just how useless the sons were, as Grandpa skipped over them to declare his grandson as heir. The uncles were aware of their own shortcomings and feared that their father would reconsider.
I don't understand. Aren't Lin Yusen's mother and her siblings are siblings with same mother and father? And it's…
The relationships and bonds among siblings often become strained when it comes to inheritance. People can kill their own siblings over property. Moreover, LYS's grandfather wants the company to remain within the Sheng family. In China, there is a household registry system and I think that after marriage, women move into their husband's family registry. I’ve heard that it is super easy to get married in China but much more difficult to get a divorce because of this. If my assumption is correct, if LYS's mother or LYS himself inherits the company, it will no longer be considered property of the Sheng family, as LYS is a Lin. Even if his mother is a Sheng, LYS will inherit the company after her. So it's a no-go for gradpa Sheng.
