I really loved these two new episodes. They were not part of the book. I love how they are making NXG slowly and naturally develop feelings for LYS.

I want to slap that Zhuang Fei. He’s the one who will tattle about the trip to his brother. Dude back off. I really don't want that Zhuang crap on my screen. I hope LYS and NXG give us extra sweet scenes like today’s episodes and that jerk Xu is burned with jealousy.

The one who wanted to meet LYS was NXG's father's ex's daughter. However, LYS thought that NXG was the one who wanted to meet him because his friend said that Nie Chengyuan's daughter wanted to go on a blind date with him. That ex's daughter goes around introducing herself as Nie Chengyuan's daughter.
That caused all these misunderstanding. The misunderstanding is cleared up in the last 4-5 chapters of Book 1.

Right now it may look like LYS is overworking NXG but that's his way of preparing her for the future. In fact, this current project he handed over to her is making her meet people from all departments so that she can be acquainted with them and form connections. He is really going to turn her into a badass businesswoman.

Her father is a terrible person. That's the only explanation I can think of. Basically, after his ex returned to his life, he forgot he had a wife and child. Her mother said he was having an affair, but he never accepted that. Guman didn’t focus much on her parents, they were just there for the story.

She was even worse in the book. I freaking wanted to slap her in every scene. People like her are more dangerous than rong.

My South Asian self was shocked years ago when I saw a K-celeb wearing a hoodie and sweatpants at a manager's wedding. From the comment section, I learned that they dress like this for weddings.

While LYS is surrounded by good friends who support him in winning over his girl, my girl NXG had to spend a whole year with toxic people who belittle her at every chance. Thankfully, she found wonderful friends and colleagues after university. However, LYS's family life is toxic, whereas NXG's family is incredibly sweet. My babies just can't catch a break. They seem to win one point only to lose another.

I don’t remember if there was any scene showing how he found out she was working there, as it has been a long time since I read the book. Actually, her father could have shared with his grandfather that she would join the company. The male lead might have been there at that time or heard from his grandfather. You know how, when she applied for jobs and went for interviews, the manager knew who she was because her father had already informed the higher-ups, who probably then told the hiring manager about her. I actually didn't think much about how the male lead knew she was working there, because it’s common for people to mention that their child would be working there, so please take care of him/her.
And the male lead never met the second male lead before in the book, so he never heard about her going abroad. Even in the show, I felt that ML realized the sml had feelings for her when he came to submit her CV. In the office scene, when SML said she went abroad for higher studies, the male lead's slight smirk felt more like mocking because he knew she was there for a study tour and would be back in September.

LYS's family and NXG's father are long-term business partners. His family holds 51% of the shares while her father holds 49%. LYS actually vetoed one of her father's projects, so her father doesn’t like him.

Actually, in the novel, the second male lead heard from the female lead's housekeeper that she went abroad for higher studies. She got confused between a study tour and higher studies. So everyone in the college group learned about that from him. In the novel, the male lead met the second male lead for the first time on New Year's, during the stair scene from today's episode. The office scene in Shanghai was not in the book. The male lead was introduced much later in the book. That's why people were confused about who the actual male lead was.
