I'm really disappointed with the ending. Censorship is ruining Cdramas why are fictional stories being taken so seriously that they require heavy regulation? A simple disclaimer or notice before the drama starts should be enough. These open endings, where the leads just exchange eye smiles for ten seconds, are painfully cringe.
I understand censorship was introduced because some underage viewers were taking these stories seriously but there are better ways to address that. Blanket restrictions shouldn't come at the cost of storytelling integrity.
So looking at the upcoming spoilers, it seems Shi Qianlu will twist the truth to make Tingyan doubt what she saw and to mislead Sima Jiao. He alters the truth by showing Tingyan illusions and half-truths, making it look like Sima Jiao is wants to kill tingyan driving a wedge between them. This manipulation will trigger Tingyanâs âcold fish body.â
I plan to read the novel only after this airs, for this exact reason of not wanting comparison.I did notice writer…
Actually problem is not angst problem is they toned down everything very quickly we didn't get to see much emotions from ML , 2-3 mins of ML showing emotions would have been perfect.
Didnât read the novel but this whole part felt so out of character to me. It bothers me that he spent 18 years…
So true Honestly, they couldâve handled it so much better. Instead of just skipping to him in a coma, they couldâve shown a short sequence of his breakdown like him raging, destroying everything in sight, confronting subordinates, demanding answers, and storming into forbidden places looking for even the faintest trace of Tingyanâs soul. As u said 2â3 minute montage with flashes of him wandering, fighting, and growing more desperate wouldâve conveyed his pain perfectly.
Even showing small details like him sleepless, injured, or coughing up blood from burning his spirit fire while searching wouldâve made it hit harder. Then, after showing his relentless struggle, they couldâve transitioned to him collapsing into unconsciousness from exhaustion. That wouldâve been so much more impactful than making it seem like he just went straight into a coma without showing us his emotions.

I didnât feel much emotion from the ML after the FLâs disappearance it all felt so bland and toned down so quickly. I get that screen writers had to wrap everything up in 33 episodes, but that doesnât mean they had to completely water down such an important sequence. After ML woke up, he didnât even show much emotion he was just like, âokâ and it felt so out of character. Instead of showing us his pain, obsession, and relentless struggle, they reduced everything into a sleep coma arc, which honestly felt odd.
I agree with you completely. They butchered all the perfect settings in the novel, how could they have the heart…
I completely agree with you they shouldn't have changed Sima jiao's personality he went from a overpowered ML to a weak character. They messed up novel adaptation :/
Ah, this part in the novel make more sense about SimaJiao, I also wondered why the drama shows that he went into…
They didn't do justice with demon arc storyline like seriously this was the same man who was powerful and ruthless in initial episodes how come he went to sleep lol đ
I didnât read the novel but I did feel underwhelmed with how they wrote SJ in the aftermath of losing her. it…
Yeah, I really wanted to see more angst after he couldnât find any trace of her soul. I wanted Sima Jiaoâs reaction to Tingyanâs disappearance to be intense but we only get to see him coughing up blood and then fainting lol. Just like in the initial episodes where he was ruthless, I wanted to see him being restless, desperate, and even willing to risk burning his own life force if it meant getting her back. That kind of desperation and obsession should have been shown. Instead, they completely toned it down. Rather than showing us his pain and relentless search, they reduced everything into him simply falling into a sleep coma đ It erased so much of his character depth and the raw emotions.
Writers really shouldâve stuck with the novel, because Sima Jiao was never a weak character who would just fall into some 18+ year slumber. In the novel, heâs portrayed as a powerful and determined figure when Tingyan disappeared, he searched endlessly for her across the demon realm. But in the drama they toned him down so badly making him just fall into a coma-like sleep for years. It completely erases the depth of his struggle and his unyielding devotion. Instead of showing the powerful, relentless Sima Jiao from the novel, they reduced him to a passive, sidelined version of himself. Honestly, itâs such a letdown đ
sima jiao going into a coma for 18 years instead of desperately looking for tingyan is so out of character likeeeeeee đ HATE when writers stop trying after 10 episodes like that is NOT how my man from early eps would act.
I don't like ru ling at all just because she wants to break barrier she joined hands with shi sector master like seriously đ. Snake is a bit dumb character i think ru ling will use him to attack sima jiao .
Yesterday I finally completed the novel and honestly itâs such a gem. What I loved the most is that thereâs no unnecessary angst mode between the leads their relationship feels so natural and refreshing. The FL is super chill and laid-back, the kind of character who refuses to get dragged into all the messy nonsense happening in the realm. By the second arc, you can really see her growth in terms of power and abilities, but whatâs amazing is that it doesnât change her personality at all sheâs still witty, carefree, and doesnât take things too seriously. Her attitude brings a lightness to the story that balances out the whole immortal demon world setting.
The dynamic between the leads is also so wholesome. Instead of the typical tragic separations or heavy drama, they basically live like an old married couple bickering playfully, supporting each other quietly, and finding comfort just in being together. I really hope the drama adaptation stays true to this vibe. The last thing we need is them adding unnecessary angst sob story. The charm of the novel lies in its humor, the relaxed energy of the FL, and the cozy, married-couple bond of the leads.
I have been noticing for a while that many toxic fans have entered cdrama community where they specifically come…
Exactly! Also I donât get why people get so triggered over fictional dramas, lmao. Theyâre made to entertain us in our free time no need to take them so seriously, lol.
