I love both drama almost equally. But I prefer L&R than AoL because of Sifeng. I adore his character alot. He is the most patient male lead I've ever know.
I don't want to compare the story in L&R and AoL since I always regard every drama I watch as "other people story and I just an outsider who watching their life story". Since I can finish both drama that's mean their story is interesting enough for me.
But although I love both L&R and AoL, I still have some complain for them both. For L&R, I need more Xixuan and GoW past story in heavenly realm, I think they didn't show it enough in the drama. The second one is I dissapointed with Bailin ending, after all the crime he has done, it's not fair if he die that easily, I hope he got beaten and tortured before he die. For AoL, I dissapointed with XF's reaction about his father's affair with jinmi's mother. He's so happy when he know that jinmi is not his sibling as he thought, but I wonder if XF ever thought since his father think that jinmi is his daughter that's mean he has rape jinmi's mother? I wonder what XF feel and think about that since they never show it in the drama (cmiiw) The second one is the last war between XF and RY, it's dissapointing to watch those inocent soldier die just because their leader personal affair. The third is the filler about devil princess love story with Muci. It's not appealing enough for me, it's make the drama draggy, I skip almost the entire of their story, I only watch the scene when the devil princess is crying and calling Muci's name and when they get married and later Muci die. And since I don't interest with their story, it's so dissapointing that there's an episode which almost entire episode is about devil princess story and the main story just appear a few minutes, cmiiw (I watch AOL back then in 2018 at Jiangsu tv's youtube channel with 63 episodes, so I don't know if there's episode like this in the 60 episodes version)

Their dress difference is so obvious. The only similarity is the both dresses has pinkish color. You compare xuanji's outfit when she hug sifeng, so the dress style can't be seen clearly.
