Great family drama and bromance

Just loved this lakorn so much! And okay the male leads were both SO FREAKING GORGEOUS AND ONLY KEPT GETTING BETTER LOL buuut as far as I'm concerned I love the plot and the crime aspect and most of all the love hate bromance omg sooo mucccch feels !

And sure you can argue that this isn't perfect when it comes to technical greatness but it's not shoddy either. Especially the fights and the action is done so well! But the thing that completely blew me was Pons acting okay.

He's so expressive! His dialog delivery, everything is on point. And also this show gave me another sls XD but at least they didn't completely destroy his character like most asian shows of this type, and they didn't completely make him evil.

And now, the problem I have.

The females lead okay I've seen worse acting so that didn't bug me. What did bug me, was her manipulative nature! Exhibit A - She's romantically involved with Santhrakat but she goes to KHIREE when she wants to get married!!!
Exhibit B - she's MAJORLY ROMANTICALLY INVOLVED WITH SANTHRA FKING KAT BUT SHE KISSES KHIREE - ON THE LIPS FULL ON - JUST TO KEEP HIM AROUND BECAUSE HER AND HER STUPID ASS MOM WHO BTW COULDN'T STAND KHIREE WHEN HE WAS POOR - let's face it her manipulative ways were what got Khiree in trouble in the first place! If she hadn't made him a target for the step father, her step father wouldn't have wanted to ruin the boy's life!

Second MAJOR THING THAT BUGGED ME TILL THE END - Why the hell didn't Khiree even ONCE tell people what really happened that night! This whole miscommunication bs was so pointless. It would have been ok if he'd done it for like a month or even two episodes but anything more was just so frustrating! Because how can anyone including his brother TRULY understand what that man did to him? They kept saying it was Khiree's fault and he NEVER ONCE corrected anyone that he didn't turn up at the wedding because he was being kidnapped and tortured!

Anyway those are all minor gripes and none of this changed my overall enjoyment of the show. Especially when they as a family kill the villain - was that cathartic af lol

So yes. Anyone has recs like this one please tell me XD

I know this is being compared to Lost and coming from someone who used to be a die hard fan of the show at one point, when you grow after watching things like Lord of the Flies and Japanese fiction you find something like Lost very trite and lacking in complexity. Because any time you put a bunch of people stranded on an island the comparison is rather unavoidable. But apart from having some minor similarities with lost tbh personally you know what I was reminded of? BATTLE ROYALE. Which is basically Lord of the Flies Japanese version with teens instead of younger kids. The reason why you're stranded is never important in any of these masterpieces, the whole point is to tell a story that's sincere, raw, poignant and powerful and Stranded delivers on all these aspects. The characters portrayal is realistic, and the writing so honest you'll be an emotional wreck in no time. Something that gets lost when you 'Hollywoodize' any story. Not knocking on it if that's your taste, just feel like sometimes it's good to watch something like this, if for no other reason than to see things from a different perspective.

I honestly don't know what it is about Demekin that feels a bit superficial tbh. Something about the relationships is very surface level but it's entertaining for the most part. It was mostly about friendship between the two main leads but I felt like they were not very expressive toward each other in the right way, they kept saying a bunch of stuff but you don't feel their bond. They just didn't do it right imo so it just fell flat on the whole. Over Drive with Mackenyu suffers from the same but at least the way Over Drive is made is very entertaining and especially Mackenyu not only sold me on his character but you see that love hate thing going on in his eyes, so you feel it too. But Demekin was very trite and even annoying in places. But the final showdown that was done well and so is the violence and most of the action so like I said, it's not terrible either but you won't be missing anything if you didn't watch it.

Okay this drama I really loved it and watching Miura in this role is such a treat no doubt, but some of the writing in the drama is just excellent. And the first three episodes were so seductive and enticing, because you didn't have a clue what was going on so you were just constantly on edge! But the reason I'm rating Aku No Hado ten which was another crime drama airing at the same time, and Dying Eye 8 is because even though the beginning of both dramas was epic, Dying Eye sort of lost steam once the main mystery was solved a couple of episodes back. And even that would have been fine but then the ending of Dying Eye just didn't work for me. It was way too typical and preachy and cliche is bearableif done right but preachy gets on my nerves, like you know the whole 'crime bad' spiel Lol like bro we get it. You don't have to be so self-righteous. Aku No Hado on the other hand maintains its suspense till the very last minute and isn't all preachy.

Loved it! Engaging, entertaining, meaningful. It's about how humans are so quick at jugding others but are bizarrely unaware about the evil inside them. I know Japan has a lot of game style, voting system movies and drama but I still find something new every day, that really says something about the talented creators. And Seto was so believable! Loved every second he was in, and the story is full of twists and the ending was just sheer brilliance. And the way it was shot was really clever. Completely had me hooked!

Th at last scene rose the mo vie to a whole other level!
I'm a huge fan of Izumi Takahashi and this one was really good though not my favorite. Basically it's a depiction of evil you don't usually see. I was involved with the main character but tbh I was a bit disappointed with the actor. Regardless I was able to enjoy the movie.
Basically this film is about how trauma changes you and makes you helpless. And if you run you just hurt others in your path who're innocent.
That's why if you do decide to get involved in someone's life you can't just do it halfheartedly because your actions have consequences.

This is basically a Scooby Doo episode with fujoshi / fudanshi fodder. Not that that's a bad thing because it's thoroughly entertaining but I would have preferred just a tiny bit of seriousness. They chose a fantastic male lead his acting was good and he's beautiful they could have made it more memorable. There are no jump scares that scared me and nothing scary about the ghosts either. So definitely a comedy than horror. I liked the arc about the dead parents, it was basically about the main lead coming to terms with that.

The perfect thriller! Both leads are so gorgeous and did a good job playing their characters. Baro's voice--it melts your heart >_< it's a bit inherently sad. Tbh this one had some incoherencies and continuity issues (Baro's hair keeps going from a striking blond to brown, some of the action was a bit unbelievable) but all of that can be easily overlooked thanks to the great casting and the story and thrills. It has violence but not too gritty or dark. hopeful feeling on the whole. Absolutely entertaining.

That scene where Andy (Jack) picks up 'Shortie' so casually over his shoulder, it was obvious Chris couldn't stop laughing when he was supposed to be serious in that scene considering what Jack just confessed XD omg I was laughing and crying legit.

I know I keep saying HIStory creators always get better and it's the same with Trapped. The right amount of skin ship, cuteness, angst, and passion for a perfect guilty pleasure watch and as always the chemistry between both the couples was through the roof! I really enjoyed this story gangster and cop is one of my favorite tropes.

But even though its supposed to be a tropey guilty pleasure watch the writing and dialog is so damn good.

Seriously, I got just as attached to both the couples!

Absolutely loved it!

So naturally felt like it ended way too soon. But not because it felt rushed or anything, just because I got super attached to the characters.

And ok word of caution, there are some dark turns in this one like Obsessed. Nothing too dark and the overall mood is hopeful but angsty.

This is another one of those films where words fail to describe what you actually feel. Ok, let me tell you that poster and even the trailer are completely misleading. Because if you are looking for the usual BL storyline and clichés you'll be disappointed. This movie is truly ART. The way it takes two strangers and slowly building their relationship and you end up falling in love so fast there's no going back. The thing is while many chemical reactions bring the feeling of 'love' or 'crush' this movie emphasizes the one thing most people these days tend to forget - to love is to be there foir the person no matter what and its caring and loving them even when they least deserve it sometimes. It talks about the way the cruelty of abuse and bullying doesn't ever leave you, it becomes an endless cycle. That teachers aren't always the heroic professionals they're supposed to be. That the reason you're told to 'walk it off' or bury your feelings is because people in charge of children and adolescents don't want the burden of responsibility and treat their children like the only reason for their existence are good grades. I know everyone wants to close their eyes and watch guilty pleasure stuff but once in a while it's important to step out of your bubble and take a look at the bleak reality of people who are suffering, and watch something that gives a voice to the ones who've been forced to suppress their feelings.

This movie was so full of emotion! Starts out giving a look at the life the protagonist Kim Go Eun lives with "Mother" - the boss of a loan shark business played exceptionally well by Kim Hye Soo. There are many other children in the company but there are only four children who live with Mother in the same house. Two boys, and two girls. One of the girl is a junkie, and Kim Go Eun becomes like mother when she grows up, and all the kids are tough but Kim Go Euns character has been living such a life and even seems to be used to it when suddenly mother sends her on an errand to collect from a man. But when the girl goes to the apartment she finds Park Bo Gum living there and he tells her politely his father isn't a bad person, he will pay off the debt and asks for some time. She realizes that he's a good guy so tries to tell him his father has abandoned him but he won't believe it. She gives him some time but then she starts having feelings toward Bo Gum and he seems to like her as well. Anyway that's when everything goes to shit. This movie was a bit like Hwayi, at the core it was about dysfunctional families and how you get trapped by the idea of a family even if it literally murders your happiness. This is very serious extreme kind of violence so if you get triggered easy might want to pass on this one but otherwise this movie is super intense and beautiful.

For some reason I didn't find it as good as Strong Woman or Rich Man Poor Woman which is my yardstick for a good romcom. I can't put my finger on it but there was something lacking. Despite the fact that Ahn Hyo Seop totally stole my heart and I'm in love with Yang Se Jong. Especially the ending, I guess it's way too cheesy? And how can everyone be fine when Yoo Chan confessed and was heartbroken? He's leaving too, how are they still happy? I think the uncle and nephew part of the storyline was something I was so excited about. So when he only comes back for her, and basically isn't even that bothered about him leaving, what the hell? Why did they make such a huge fuss before?

I hate when bromance story arcs are added for more viewership and despite all the fuss, in the end they ruin it. So even if the romance part is good, you can't buy a guy who is this way to his nephew, could be any better for the female lead . Honestly, Park Hyungsiks character treats Ji Soo much better than this uncle did and they weren't even related lol

Now, for the good points.

This drama is so funny and no annoying jokes either nothing too over the top. But that's not the only thing. Both male leads are gorgeous, and I do love Yang Se Jong since Duel but I'm having serious second lead syndrome because of Yoo Chan! And the animals in this drama aren't just there for decoration they're totally part of the cast lol I love that! I'm going to miss the chick and Peng.

One of my favorite jokes was Yoo Chan asking the chick if he's was hyung or oppa ^_^ LMAO

So, yes it's definitely an entertaining show and worth a watch but didn't get attached to it.

It's a Sammon show how can it not be good! Well, as always she brought it this time too, and with these two have bestowed me some serious nostalgia though, you know who doesn't love it when the same group members do something romantic and get more into each other? Right ? Just me ? Well, okay then. I would have taken it if they never actually got together but they did and damn if that kiss wasn't one of the most satisfying shit ever! Slow burn enemies with a Sammon plot what more can you ask for? This one is about the morality of euthanasia. Personal opinion myself hey I'm pretty much one of those 'libtards' who happens to agree a human being should be allowed to die as they want but maybe that's just me..

But tbh Boss bruh his character got to me so much.

Like he was just damn ... His story arc made me so sad.

But this show is on the whole really well made with a good cast pretty much everything is on point.

The only thing that doesn't work for me personally that ending.

Showing him confess to the police because he loves the guy and not because he actually blvs he did anything wrong? That just doesn't make much sense to me personally, because I would have preferred the doctor to just get away with it because Boss already died for this guy, but I also get why creators make such choices because of censorship or public opinion or viewers who have pretty typical morality the lowest common denominator and what not.

I get those pressures but still if they had given Kan's character some more darkness it would have been better, or even not end it on him confessing and going to prison.

That is pretty much my only suck for this entire show.

I really like it it was a good watch but it had so much potential to be better. Both the main ship and the side couple were actually done well when it comes to character arcs but again the only problem for me was they were going way too slow, and this is coming from a slow burn lover but the main couple it was somewhere between love at first sight and slow burn. Which wasn't the best way to write it.

The way everyone deals with the ep 10 conflict was something that came out of nowhere because especially from Patts side he was lashing out in a way that he was only talking about in dialogue with the ex only once he was thinking her for dealing with his anger but I feel like instead of having his character be so completely different from what it was before they should have had him show some of this anger at Tai at some point earlier too even if it was that tiny inkling that should have exploded in ep 10 instead of just doing it out of nowhere all of it in one episode when before he was being too chill too patient like wtf

Also Tai pretty much apologized to him in the end, bruh you just saw your boyfriend kick the shit out of some guy who tried to kiss you and fine it's his fault for lying to him about meeting Fon but Patt could have chosen another way to lash out he could have broken up or something!

After that scene Patt's behavior was pretty much TOXIC and no one loves a hot red flag guy more than me but this show was actually trying to prove that Patt wasn't toxic that he was just drunk/loves Tai too much that's why he was behaving like this, that was his excuse for everything!

So even his own father was clearly telling Tai to get back with Patt like everyone else so it was a lot of normalized toxicity for a story that was supposed to be about progressive love

Despite these issues though and despite me becoming more into Tien and Fon arc after this point and I really like the way they did the soulmate ideas too but for the most part I really enjoyed it all except for the very ending for Patt and Tai but was really happy watching the two idiots Tien and Fon in the last ep was what made the last ep somewhat salvageable.

My personal issue is that love a hot rich red flag guy all you want just don't apologize for the shit you did in reaction to his toxic behavior.

Even if there was a single line towards the end from Patt or Tai that alluded to this this show would be a lot higher rated for me .

So, I just wanted to say I have been waiting for this one since I watched the trailer. but I don't know what I was high on that I remember it looking like a toxic and taboo romance lol which obviously yes please!

but I started watching and at first I didn't know what to think about the fact that it's a horror plot with hex curses and all. I mean look I love all that too, especially ffs Win looks sooo gorgeous! even more so than anything he's in before at for me personally. because damn the way he looked especially in the red coat and the other ensembles !

but okay this one is very much symbolic and everything is either a metaphor for mental health, or toxic relationships, or even fears that people who are different frequently have to suffer.

the bullying from people that turns the victim into a villain themselves, that's what the "curse" on Namsine basically stands for and I love that nuance. The whole part of 'Enigma' is done so well, I just love it.

even though like I said I wasn't sure at the start if I was going to like it but dude I was hooked by the end of ep 1!

I love gross grotesque stuff so that ending reveal blew my mind (θ‿θ) even though I pretty much said it out loud to myself that if it is him that would be BADASS and it was! lol
it was exactly as badass as I thought! I can't wait for the next season
