It feels like it’s been 5 years since this wrapped. I’m gonna need another extraordinary cdrama of this caliber to take over my heart, mind and life and quickly at that.
When we talk about KBL’s there are tons of good, not so good and also lousy material to reference. SK has brought us Light on Me and My Sweet Dear. SK has given us Where Your Eyes Linger and Color Rush 1 & 2 (yikes) But SK also brought us Long Time No See, To My Star, To My Star 2, and Semantic Error. When SK is hot, it is nuclear. I have a sense that The Eighth Sense will join the top ranks of ground breaking KBL that set an indelible impression. Mark my words.
Man…I’m so in love with this show. Jae Won is like deep, fathomless water. I just have to know what’s going on in his head. But Lord, every time he touches Ji Hyun it’s like he can finally breathe. The way he took Ji Hyun’s hand when he was walking him home…I swear that gave me stronger feels than a lot of NC 17 scenes I’ve seen. I love how true to himself Ji Hyun is. He truly is an Angel. And though his childhood friend is a total bumpkin who has no talent for reading the damn room, it makes me feel very good that Ji Hyun is surrounded by genuine people that care about him. That’s one solid little artificial family he has cultivated. If only Jae Won had the same. What I especially love about these two episodes is the emphasis on being comfortable with oneself and learning to recognize who anchors you. Through friendship and love, these are the types of relationships where people can grow and where they can seek comfort in a storm. Jae Won has that in Yoon Won and Ji Hyun. Ji Hyun has the same in Jae Won, his boss and maybe even Ae Ri. It’s lovely. And the crowning touch is that both boys seem to be one another's eighth sense.
Everytime I rewatch it, I see something new. KBLs are kicking it out the park so far. Loving it.
Me too. For example, in the scene where the ex is getting an iced coffee or whatever and gets annoyed when she sees Jae Won and Ji Hyun in the water. It’s very blurry, but as she turns away the shot focuses and you can see Jae Won is holding Ji Hyun in a full body embrace. Probably trying to “warm” him up. 😍
I can’t breath
