How do you know this is a less unique story? We’re only 4 episodes in. Give the story time to unfold. Or better yet, view it as a separate work, which it is. I think people that harp about source material are essentially know-it-alls.
This show is sooooo good. And so meaningful. Lord, if you haven’t let stupid pride separate you from the one you at least once out of self perseverance, I don’t believe you are a real human. If the world were to end tomorrow, would your petty grievances and your pride really matter? Would you let them keep you apart from the one you love with all of your heart? This is such a human failing.
My God, I love this show. It’s so profound and yet so beautifully simple. When Japan decides to take an assignment, they damned well own it.
Everything else about this show might be pure trash but every scene with just Uea and King make up for it in spades. I love watching how King is slowly earning Uea’s trust and melting his heart. King is so tender with Uea. So protective and careful. I look forward to the day when Uea reciprocates with the same watchful adoration.
And also…that sunset beach scene was the most beautiful piece of cinematography I’ve seen from a Thai show since ITSAY.
The writers should take my advice and cut out everything else. We don’t need the office personalities or cringy attempt at levity. King and Uea are good enough and their chemistry is so strong that they could carry this show alone.
Loved the scene by the river. As Masumi is looking around, seeing the world for the first time they’re was Ritsu right beside him with his eyes full of Masumi. Ritsu gazing at Masumi is my new favorite thing. I love this actor. I want to see him in more stuff.
