Cons: translation. Acting (a little stiff). Yai. He is a jerk. Pro’s: cinematography, editing, music and even though the male leads are stiff, the chemistry and tension between them is palpable and natural. The NC scene was excellently done.
It’s a good start. Yai is not a likeable character thus far. He’s always been the one on top but he’s finally met his better in Mangkorn and he is not handling it well. This is going to be an interesting study in character development.
In which scene/episode did you know that this show was going to break you down and set the standard for all future xianxia? For me it was ep 9/10. The rescues scene was enough but what really did it for me was the dragon ride. Specifically, when Orchid began to bask in the sunlight. She looks up at DQC and…yeah. This moment is so emotional and beautiful. Perfectly acted, gorgeous soundtrack, heart wrenching visual affects.
Wholesale ass? Most of them are tag sale asses lol.
Oh I don’t know. Wholesale ass beatings are less about the beaten, then the beater. Beating an outstanding quantity of ass certainly qualifies. Provocation also counts. MRF & HU are righteous heroes and check both boxes.
The wait is almost over!!!! I will not apologize for who I am about to become when this airs. Unless I’m wrong about this show (and I haven’t been wrong yet this year) and this stinks, then I will apologize.
Episode 2The good: -I'm shallow. i want to rub oil over Meen's chest. Sue me. The chest alone makes him an upgrade…
Agreed with all these points. I was struggling to articulate what about this show was throwing me off and you nailed it. Acting prowess and the substantial disconnect between the MLs. I hope we get to see Meen paired up with someone more skilled in the future.
So I’m reading through the comments and I’m very grateful to everyone who persevered and posted your thoughts. Honestly, I’m a little depressed this weekend so I think I’ll put off watching the finale for a while. I knew we wouldn’t get the happily ever after that I wanted for Wang and In. But I had hoped for some closure and for both to move forward and find happiness. I’ll finish this one day when I’m deep in my feels and want to cry.
