I’m on ep 11 and OMG Xiao Bai is a lame duck. This show can be so entertaining but not when he or his groupie is on scene. Who cast this dude against the ML? Cuz…fail.

I’ve heard a few others express sympathy for the Mother here and to each their own but I find that inconceivable. I find her selfish and patronizing. I get that she is a pathetic character but I can’t empathize because she is always manipulating people. She is a classic narcissist and I also do not think that she is a good Mother. She may love Wang but that doesn’t redeem her in my eyes.
When SK boys love is good, it is some of the best there is. This feels like top quality and it’s giving TMS production vibes. Oh…and the sound track…..yeah. I feel a new obsession brewing.
Always nice to return to the shows that raised the bar after some time and perspective. So, after 1.5 years, after the phenomenon known as KinnPorsche and several other worthy BLs, I have returned here during a lull. I can say this with worldwise confidence, ep 2 ranks in the top 4 most passionate, natural, engrossing, sexy and romantic scenes in BL history. Period.
I started this for Allen Ren. I do not usually like Li Qin. Was prepared to suffer her in this series. Somehow, at episode 10, I am enjoying her a lot. I like her swashbuckling style. Hoping Lu Yan’s character evolves because while powerful, he just isnt very interesting. For now I’d say DengDeng and the side characters are definitely carrying the show.
On episode 3 and I have a question? Has there ever in the history of xianxia or Wuxia been a ML as lethally sexy as Li Hong Yi? I mean…my word. I’ve seen him in other things and thought he was cute but here he’s so….seductive.
They are both good for him though. I dont mind who he ends up with tbh!
I wasn’t thinking of them in terms of who is right for Hu. Both ladies have their own value and strengths beyond as a compliment to a male character. I admire Kung Fu ZiYi more, that’s all I’m saying.
Why does this drama have an 8.4 rating when it just started airing? Is it that bad or what?
Seriously after several years on MDL I’ve learned that you cannot judge a shows quality by its MDL rating. You can barely judge a show by the reviews.
Honestly, if teasers and trailers and TikToks get you interested…give it a shot. You’ll know soon enough if you it’s worth your time. Don’t take ratings and opinions too seriously. Lots of dumb petty shits on the web,
I was prepared for her to be the lowlight of this show. But…somehow…near the end of ep 1 I settled into her rakish, boorish character. I kinda like her. Anyway…I sure like xianxia mixed with republican era. Has a very steampunk vibe. I dig it.
