I would recommend the original version of Goodbye My Princess over the director's cut. It has a better overall flow, and only boring scenes were cut. It's one of the most iconic and beautiful c dramas for sure!

The premise looks fun, but I hope the get a new FL. I liked Shen Yue in Meteor Garden, but then she was EXACTLY the same in every other show. No range at all, and she is going to age out of the clumsy, cute, feisty and Bambi eyed role. The FL from my Cute Bodyguard, or the one from Maid's Revenge would be great to see paired with Dylan in this type of drama.
The cinematography was really beautiful, and the chemistry and acting of the leads was top notch. I rated lower though due to the terrible family of the FL. The father never took any responsibility, or showed any remorse for literally trying to kill someone, having people put in prison, lying, manipulating, and being an all around abuser. And somehow we are supposed to want the leads to be on good terms with this psychopath? Ugh. It definitely tainted the drama for me along with the FL not fighting for her man, and being such a weak and passive character. I would have liked to see her stand up for herself and her man for longer then 3mins. Mario made the drama with his complexity and charm. A good watch overall, but could have been better!
