From the last few minutes of the last episode 46 - this story is based on ZRY's character writing the novel on Fan Xian? Is this the same idea as the internet novel the drama series is based on or was this used to bypass other restrictions and rules? I just find it a little annoying when you watch or read something only to find out at the very end it was all a dream kind of trope.

I previously watched this ages ago and did not pay too much attention (I apologise for my previous thoughts but after being in the mood and watching it again I understand this drama series is a true masterpiece!). I could have sworn I remember seeing an episode near the end that Wang Qi Nian is a traitor and he goes back to Fan Xian's home to deliver some news but kills either Fan Xian's teacher or his adopted dad because they found out he was a traitor and a spy and other important information they wanted to tell Fan Xian. Therefore, wondering if there is an uncut version or it might have been a different tv series with similar layout with the outside wall things with the round shape to walk in (the scene in photo 5 above of Fan Xian's house).

Have some questions regarding the last episode and if there is an uncut version or episode for JoL

I completely agree with you as they needed a younger actress to be Jiang Ni. I would find it way too awkward to watch a 30-40s year old actress trying to act like a cutesy 15 year old teenager girl. Nangong Pu Ye would be best off as Xu Feng Nian trusted aide.

I do admit I was questioning the choice of casting for the main female lead. Her excessive pouting and sitting in the carriage while others are fighting was a little irksome but not something that would make me drop the show. Thankfully she's not pout as much in later episodes. From looking at her profile she has only starred in one other historical drama and is relatively new to the field. I hope like other dramas I have seen such as Luoyang Wang Yibo and Song Qian their acting improved as episodes went on so I hope this is the same for Li Gen Xi. Also as it will be a long time before they can even begin filming for future seasons this would give her time to improve. I just hate when dramas change the main cast.

I kind of understand where they are coming from picking a younger actress because it does feel awkward when a veteranactress in their 30-40s act as a 15 year old girl and being all cutesy. But I do wonder if it is related to her having connections and her teacher being highly respected in the field she gets given more opportunities. Haha we are the opposites as Wan'er put me off JoL so much but I have picked it back up and glad I did as I am enjoying it. I am looking forward to Jiang Ni's character development and when she learns swordsmanship which means she will not be as useless with sitting in the carriage and just pouting away.

It would have been quicker but they had to finish the script for season 3 as well for JoL but at least the wait for season 3 wont be as long as season 2! Although it is a long wait for SSS S2 but at least they are not abruptly ending things.

That is true but I remember one of the comments below and it mentioned the budget for SSS means they are able to make up to seasons 2 or 3 and it is doing well in China so there is hope for season 2. But I am hoping we will get an answer hopefully at the last episode of SSS and not after months.

I am amazed they are making a FBS S2 if given that S1 was poorly received and ratings were not good unless they will correct it and follow back to the plot in the novel.

I had assumed XQF was questioning whether XFN was stating the truth about his identiy and believed him after seeing some similarity between father and son. I also think she meant her mother would like him because he is handsome and would like him as a son in law which is why he went inside to explain to JN lol.

I do not think I could handle watching future episode previews especially since one episode per day is already an agony!

I think it was implemented last year where dramas are only allowed a maximum limit of 40 episodes so dramas are bypassing that with breaking and making it into seasons. At least we know they are filming season 2 and 3 at the same time this year so season 3 wait wont be like season 2!

I am watching JoL and I do like the drama, however, I skip forward the scenes with Wan'er because I find her annoyingly weak and as you said bland. I know the FL in SSS gets a lot of hate but I actually like her character and I also read a spoiler for her character where she will not be useless and weak.

I think you need to watch SSS without making comparisons with JoL and in that way you will find SSS more enjoyable.

How are you watching episode 33 if episode 30 is not even aired yet?

This is currently my favourite drama of 2021 and will probably be one of my all time favourites. I love XX as well he's hilarious. I do like this series because I find all the characters likeable and that is very rare for me. Some points why people do not like it is too many slow motion action scenes irked watchers, which I do admit I do find it is is a little annoying but not something I cannot stand and does not affect how much I enjoy the series. Other points that people disliked the show for is the scenes are too green, miscast of main FL, acting abilities and I guess overall people had way too high expectations.

I usually hate when the drama deviates from the novel but I am happy as I agree it seems the drama is not going down the harem route.

It also seems they wont be going down the harem route (I am glad and happy about tbh) for the drama so that will cut out the romantic scenes with the other girls. Jiang Ni will be going back to West Shu(?) so they may cut those scenes and have a timeskip in the drama.

I have not read the novel but agree as most novels have their less interesting arcs and filler arcs that do not add much to the main plot so they can hopefully be able to cut and condense the novel into the seasons required to finish it off and give us a satisfying ending.

From what I have read they will be filming both season 2 and 3 at the same time for JoL this year. It does seem like SSS will be like the wait duration as JoL for a next season.

The production waited for all the main cast to be free before scheduling filming for season 2 and 3 of JoL so I am hoping and thinking this can be the same for SSS. SSS is also very explicit in stating it is season 1 so I cannot imagine actors and actresses not thinking about the subsequent seasons when agreeing to take part.

Glad to hear she’s finally taken up on learning from LCG and CCQ and hopefully will start to learn more in relation to attack and defence. From comments on chapters possibly covered for the first season it seems sadly we won’t be able to see this until the next season.
