Oh wow!!! I love the novel and so happy to see more of the author's work being adapted into dramas!

I seen the trailer and there is a scene where they are both wearing red which looks like wedding or ceremony attire and holding hands so I had assumed it would be a happy ending. I do think it makes sense having a more realistic ending based on the status and goals but at the same time nooooo pls give us a happy ending!

Any updates on what is happening with this drama? Will this ever be released or is it forever shelved and never to be seen?

You have not mentioned anything about diverse comment here from the replies you have made to me. I checked Minglan's page and there are people that did not enjoy it because it is slow and dropped it, again that is fine because not everyone has the same preferences.

Before starting to watch the drama I checked this page and there were comments mentioning how good this is and QY is similar to Minglan and Shi Yi (The Sword and The Brocade) in terms of personality and recommeneded people to watch this. Not sure how you feel about this with people recommending this drama but also enjoyed watching Minglan, or I assume this is not allowed by you??

Again, I am talking about Minglan's CHARACTER in the story NOT the actress. From my comments I mentioned the character they were acting as NOT the actress themselves, but, you are the only one assuming we are talking about actresses. If you read the above comment I first made I spoke about QY NOT Qiao Xin and Minglan NOT ZLY.

I agree with your opinion in that Minglan was slow and only really kicked in after episode 30.

I am still watching this drama because I am hoping that it will pick up for me and that there will be character development so I have not dropped it yet.

To be honest I am unsure about ZLY water army drama or what is happening because I do not really keep up to date with actors or actresses. I just watch dramas I may or do enjoy.

I get there may be some fans that are out of line but I merely expressed my opinion and I am not sure why you are overreacting to me not liking the drama as much as you do. As mentioned I am giving it more time because there has been dramas that start slow but get better.

Liking one drama from ZLY and you label others as a ZLY water army. In that case would this mean you are a Qiao Xin water army because you did not like watching the Story of Ming Lan?

Not everyone will have the same opinion just like I love Joy of Life and Nirvana in Fire but I prefer JoL over to NiF which people would think that is outrageous but you cannot all have the same preferences.

Best to just ignore them as they do not seem to wish to discuss on the drama itself but more on hating an actress

I am not sure why you are so over the top and excessive with how rude you are being. I am not a follower of ZLY which you seem to be hating on more than anything. I enjoy more of Ming Lan's character.

I accept your opinion on how you feel about the Story of Ming Lan but I would never deny or bash your comments over it. I mentioned smart and strong, I did not necessarily mean physically strong but mentally strong and that is why I did not fault QY when she could not fend for herself in any of the fights.

Ming Lan has always been taught to be more cautious and to stay hidden because of the consequences of being in the limelight. The reason with her sister's situation is because she knows she will suffer for the rest of her life more marrying the guy.

IDK you just seem more of a hater to the actress and that is where your hate stems from for the drama. You are just as bad as the crazy fans of actors/actresses with the hate you have.

I am currently on episode 12 and I really am trying to give this drama a chance and get into it as I know with the Story of Ming Lan it was quite slow initially. I have been reading the comments and how the FL in this drama is meant to be strong and smart similar to Ming Lan.

However, I am deeply disappointed with this FL. She is clumsy, not really that smart except outsmarting 2D characters that lack any substance, damsel in distress and seems to be ruining plans made by the ML which would have been smooth sailing without her involvement. The FL's pout and frown is a little over excessive. I am hoping there will be some character development and the FL will be more likeable. But I am liking the ML currently.

At the bottom of the article it says: "As it stands, season 2 of the drama is under production, and the game/webtoon of drama is to be published during next year, 2023."

I really cannot imagine them changing the actors or actresses unless the crew were adamant on a time schedule to film it and that conflicted with an actor/actress' schedule. For example, a Chinese drama called Joy of Life came out in 2019 and after it was finished they announced there will be a season 2. They will start production this year and it will air hopefully by end of this year or 2023. The reason for the long wait was of course due to Covid but also to match the actors and actresses free schedule... I assume that is what they will have done with this series as well.

I assumed it meant the drama season 2 is in production and also there will be a webtoon for this.

I have never been a fan of modern cdramas but this one has honestly been amazing. Also with romance it sometimes ruined a drama or very much annoyingly unnecessary but I totally shipped the main leads here and I loved how natural it was for their relationship to blossom.

Why are they trying to delay the release of English subs?

I'm in the same boat. I am trying to watch a completely different genre so I do not make comparisons to SSS... but yeah not feeling anything. I also dislike modern Cdramas but currently watching Reset which is scifi and it is pretty good. The only rubbish thing is the waiting time for the episodes to be subbed.

Any links to the original source or is it merely rumours? Any updates on who is replacing who?

Really liking this drama so far and unexpectedly it has some comedic moments.

That was previously when I watched it but when I finished it yesterday did not see the scene which is why I am wondering if there is an uncut version or it was a different drama altogether. But then again 2nd prince did mention he has a spy planted by Fan Xian's side so it could also be Wang Qi Nian.

Not sure how accurate Douban is but I have checked on there and it says JoL season 2 (2022) and season 3 under 2023.
