Yes!!! I also remembered them in that scene when Sima Jiao told Ting Yan that he would rather keep all his memories since they include her, even including the 500 years of pain and torture, rather than forget her and their love at all. So glad I wasn't the only one thinking this!!

I have such mixed feelings now that this is over. I loved the ending because we actually go to see them in the same frame and he was smiling too, so im gonna be delusional and assume they're gonna live happily ever after for the sake of my mental health. I really hope we see this pairing again for a modern drama. I'm so obsessed with their sizzling chemistry, and I would love to see what it would look like with another amazing script and less censorship in a modern drama. This was my first time watching a drama from both of the leads, and I fell absolutely in love w Ying Lu's expressions and her range of emotions, as well as Fei Yu's deep voice and super expressive eyes. Most likely gonna look for more of their dramas soon after I finish the next upcoming ones on my list!

I think they're referring to the laws China has against transmigration and time travel being portrayed in dramas, so the writers always have to find a loophole in the end by making it a coma, a dream, or a book written by the character that experiences it. If you've watched even 2 or 3 dramas including these themes, you'll most likely already know what I mean. But most people usually ignore the endings and make one up themselves for the sake of their mental health, though. It's really just a way for the creators of the drama to legally still be able to make content with those themes in the plot.

Honestly, I'm really happy with this ending because the only other xianxia drama I've watched is LGIEF, which, if you haven't watched it, is also a drama where the FL transmigrates into the story. And comparing this ending to that one, this is about a 100x better. I feel like we can interpret it as a HE since the leads were smiling at each other and they purposely showed us the scene with the parallel in their third life, which ended with them falling in love again and getting married, so I think it's safe for us to assume that that's what's going to happen again.

I haven't read it personally, but I remember reading in the comments here and on tiktok that the book has a similar ending. Meaning they meet again in real life, and he's her boss or something like that. I'm not sure if he recognizes her or if they actually fall in love, so idk if that helps, but that's as much as I know.

OMG OMG OMG!!! I'm absolutely freaking out about the fact that he titled his book the same as the one that brought her back! It's just helping prove our theory that it's his book that he fills with the recipes of all the dishes that she cooks for him, and then when she travels back to the future, he writes that poem for her, hoping she comes back to him. I know it's gonna be a bittersweet/sad ending, but I love our main couple so much right now. It's safe to say this drama has me completely hooked. I wish they would release all the episodes right now so I can binge them!!!!

Fun coming-of-age type romcom. It reminded me of the kind of movies they used to make in the early 2000s. I got scared it would be a k-trauma for a sec, but it did not disappoint. 10/10 would recommend.

Considering stopping watching where I am after completing episode 26 and waiting until the express drop. Now that the previews for the next episodes reassured me from the cliffhanger on episode 26, I would much rather binge the last few episodes and be overwhelmed by their romance and sweetness in the third arc than watch only one episode a day until then.

I would love to see both of them acting in a modern drama with a good script. Having even fewer restrictions on intimacy would make their chemistry so sickeningly sweet while also steamy and hot. I would be so sat to watch that!!

I really hope so! I feel like I might have ruined all other Xianxias for myself with this one, though, because Sima Jiao is such a green flag that he puts all other Xianxia MLs to shame.

I hope he'll be able to regain his memories of at least him at TY's time together, though. Although them falling in love again will still be a happy ending, it would be better if he remembers the time when she was his only light. I think that in a way, it would make them cherish their happiness more.

Yeah, I just found that out by watching the previews for eps 27, 28, and 29. I really hope she finds a way to restore his memory and they can live happily ever after. This is my first Xianxia, and if it has a SE, I'm gonna cry my eyes out.

Guys, what do you MEAN the episode ended with him getting STABBED? TY was supposed to regain her memories and they live happily ever after, not turn on her cold nature and kill him!! The creators of the show decided to start the episode by feeding us a hot and steamy scene, but then ended it by ripping our hearts out. If Sima Jiao ends up dying, I'm gonna cry so bad, not just because he's dead, but also because TY is gonna feel so guilty about it. And I know we'll get a 3rd arc either way, but we NEED a scene where she regains her memories and they can have an amazingly cute reunion. Why can't they just let Jiao Jiao and his grandmistress be happy for once? 😭

I would definitely watch if it wasn't so angsty. I'm already a fan of Yiran, and it's safe to say that Ying Lu's expressions in WDBTD have made me her fan too, but I can't sit down and watch an angsty drama for the life of me. I just know I would end up getting too attached and break down crying every time something bad happens to them.

Same. Usually, the chemistry and banter die down after they confess to each other and get together, and we can usually count the number of kisses we get on one hand, but this drama is keeping us FEDDDDD and I love it!!

I cannot believe such a green flag exists within a costume drama. Most MLs are either major red flags or morally grey. Because what do you mean he has a way to help her regain he memories, but lets her go at her own pace and won't do it unless she wants it, even though every day she doesn't remember their love for each other is killing him inside?! So many of us can only DREAM of finding someone as caring and kind as Sima Jiao. Ting Yan is one lucky girl. Also wanted to say that this is my first CFY drama, but it's safe to say that after this, I'm officially his fan. There are a select few actors I've seen so far who are so perfectly able to convey the perfect emotion for a scene through just their eyes, and CFY is one of them. His ability to bring his character to life in this drama is just so unbelievably amazing, and I can't wait to watch his other projects after I finish this show.

If you don't like that type of naive/happy-go-lucky FL, you may want to keep continuing the story to the second arc. No spoilers, but her character goes through a major change and becomes way more serious and smart. But fair warning that the second arc only starts around episode 20, so if you don't wanna wait that long, then dropping it might be the best option for you, since you can't really escape the FL.

I really hope that's what happens. Otherwise, they should've just left her dead instead of wasting so much of the plot time resurrecting her.
