I would say that, considering the genre of the show, it's expected that they skip over small details like this. Usually, we have a predetermined mindset that all chaebol heirs are these gods with so much power, and especially considering that this is technically supposed to be a villain x villain trope, it makes sense that the creators of the show left those gaps, as we just assume it's possible. Another thing I will say is that, considering that this is a rom-com idol drama that has a trope that, to my knowledge, is a bit unconventional (two "villains" falling in love + time travel), they did a really good job with the show. It was predictable as all dramas of this genre, but there are still some twists here and there, as well as not having too many cliches or being a mix of 100 old dramas. Sorry for the long response, but overall, my advice is just to skip over the small details and turn your brain off when watching something like this. And if it's just not appealing to you or it annoys you, maybe mystery/thriller is more up your alley?

It's also a little funny to me because she was also a supporting character in Perfect Crown, and basically everyone assumed she was the evil mastermind because of how well her visuals and acting match with the "looks nice but is actually evil" trope. And although she was amazing in Perfect Crown and is great as a funny and heartwarming character, I'm really glad we get to see her tap into her potential for that type of role in this show.

Cha Se Gye, our consent king! It was almost like a small preview and a way of tentatively dipping his toes into the water before diving in for the kiss, giving her another big chance to move away or refuse him, and I love him for that. I also found him SO hot in that beach scene, I don't know why.

Considering how rich the ML is, it shouldn't be surprising that he found her address so fast. My guess is that the assistant found her resume using her name and got her address from that.

I feel so bad for IU and BWS for having to face so much hate and also being forced to apologize for things that were never their fault. It makes no sense when people expect idol dramas to have accurate historical representation and perfect plots when the whole focus is supposed to be on pretty people who fall in love. While history is important, this is NOT the right genre to nitpick about it. It makes me so sad to think about all the promo and post-airing interviews the world will now never see because of all the backlash, and also the fact that this show will most likely become a sore topic for the actors in the future. I hope this dies down soon and they can at least get some peace since they never got the happiness and celebration that should've come with a drama this popular's completion. :(

Can anyone explain to me why the ML was addressed as Lee Wan in the last episode instead of I-An? I was under the impression that his father changed his name before he died. Or was it similar to a courtesy title tied to the crown, so it was abolished when the monarchy was abolished?

C-dramas these days rarely even go to 32 eps, let alone modern dramas. And all industries across the world are shortening the duration of their shows, so I think this may not necessarily be true.

I absolutely loved this show and firmly believe it was worth the 1 year I spent anticipating its release. It's a typical cliche rom-com, so yes, it's predictable, but that's just the genre. The acting from both leads was amazing, and they portrayed the characters so well. IU's acting was criticized a lot in this drama, but personally, I think that it was a great representation of Hui Ju's defence mechanisms and unusual personality, which was a result of her childhood. And as always, Byeon Woo Seok did an amazing job of being a yearning loser in love while also once again proving his range through the serious scenes where I-An dealt with his trauma and the palace problems. My only two criticisms of this drama, which can be overlooked easily, are:

1) The last two episodes felt a little rushed, so I think 16 episodes or even 14 would have given space to fully flesh out the endings and even would have left an episode to spare that could've been dedicated to their HEA. However, the speed of the plot doesn't take much away from the experience, and the ending was still satisfactory, so this can be overlooked.

2) IU's horrible nail situation. Whoever was in charge of her nail for the entire duration of filming needs to be seriously punished because this honestly did take away from the experience a little. It was just hard to picture a millionaire CEO who constantly goes viral for her fashion having such ill-fitting and, honestly, what I think are pretty ugly nails. I understand that there might have been limited budgets somewhere or that there may have been a new-hire in charge of this, but with a drama starring two very popular actors that was very highly anticipated, this just doesn't sit right with me. Especially considering there was a whole episode filled with close-ups of her hand when displaying the ring, and there are countless hand-holding scenes between the main couple. However, once you get used to them, the nails also prove no big problem to ignore.

saw this randomly while scrolling and decided to give it a try because i saw Lee Sang Yi on the cover. The first episode was great. This seems like a pure comedy and friendship drama with some space for deeper topics like grief and depression, which we'll probably see later, but right now it's pretty light and fun. Good for a turn-you-brain-off drama. I haven't seen any of the cast before, other than Lee Sang Yi, but since he's only had a cameo in this, it seems to be all newer/non-mainstream artists. I always love discovering new talent, and so far, it seems like this cast has exactly that. I have high hopes for this drama to be my new comedy and de-stresser for the coming weeks. If you're debating whether or not to watch it, ignore the haters and their low rating and just give it a try for yourself to see if you like it or not. Worst case scenario, you spend around 30 minutes of the first episode and realize it's not your slice of cake, and you can drop it in peace.

That's why I love watching dramas. I feel myself put in the main characters' positions and find myself understanding more about life and different perspectives based on what people have been through. In this case, where her work has been the only good and rewarding thing in her life, I completely understand why and how Ye Jin throws herself into it. It truly is amazing how shows change our perspective on life sometimes.

Well, I've only watched one of those dramas, but Bon Appétit is really only in the last 5 minutes of the show, and we don't get to see how he adapts to modern life. I meant it was nice to have the main lead go forward in time on episode one and figure that out rather than go backwards, already having knowledge on how life worked back then, famous historical figures from that time, what happens to civilization in the time they've moved to, etc. But thank you for the list! I might go and check those out later if they share the same premise.

I went into this episode with a completely open mind and 0 expectations due to the very strong hit or miss patterns seen in kdramas lately, and was pleasantly surprised. Both the leads seem deep and have personalities which will allow for just the right number of classic romcom cliches without making it a remake of everything we've already seen before. The drama itself has a pretty interesting plot because I've seen people go back in time so many times, but never go to the future. I have hope for this drama and really pray it continues being as good as the first episode, because if it does, no doubt it'll do really well.

Does anyone know what the ratio of like romance to everything else is going to be, or if there will even be any romance? Because judging from the trailer, it seems like there won't be and it'll be more like a strong friendship and brotherhood between the trio. I love both Yang Yang and Zhang Ruo Nan, but I can't watch anything without a significant amount of romance in it, so I'd rather not waste my time on this when there are already so many other things I could be watching. Thank you!

This is a very common trend with slice-of-life dramas. Fans of exciting and fast-paced shows typically watch these because of certain actors or promo, completely disregarding the plot and premise. Then, they complain and hate on the show when it is very clearly meant to be a slow-paced, happy rom-com, which obviously doesn't always make sense or work the same way as in real life because that's the type of show it is. That's just MDL for ya.

I'm so glad I've found my people here who are comparing today's ep with The First Frost because when our lovely Mechoori was flinging himself at his furniture and even sawed one of his pointy tables' edges off just so she doesn't get hurt, and when she found that drawer full of supplies to care for her, I was reminded so much of Sang Yan. I wonder where such green flags exist in real life and if I'll ever find one. But until then, watching Dam Ye Jin and Wen Yifan live the good life will have to suffice.
