I found it hard to get into this drama during the first 2 episodes, but after just completing the sixth, i'm SO glad i stuck around. the main CP are so beyond cute and mechoori is such a green flag i cant even explain how amazing he is.

Is it just me who LOVED the lead's acting and is in love with this CP already? Aside from both of them being an absolute SNACK for my eyes every time they bless me with their presence on the screen, I loved how comical the FL was, and how well IU was able to act out how it's clearly a mask that she had to make due to her childhood. I also can't wait to see more of BWS's acting because I-An already seems to like out Huiju, even from their school days, so I can't wait to see how that evolves. I hope he's a yearner deep down bc I will never get enough of BWS being a hopeless romantic lol.

When he saw the photo of the three of them looking like a happy little family of 3, he assumed that she was his illegitimate daughter and that Chang Yu was his hidden lover in Lin'An. It actually makes sense because after seeing his brother (Qi Min) find out about Yu Bao'Er's existence and get surprised that he has a whole child. And with the absence of CY and CN's parents, his train of thought is pretty understandable, as the Zhao's were too old to have a child that young, and XZ is already about 27, so having a child that old was normal.

Also I am like very confident that the previous king, (I An's brother) was super depressed an unhappy with his life as seen in that fight between him and the empress dowager, and she started the fire when she threw the burning abdication letter onto the ground, and he just didn't bother to stop it and remembered her saying "I'd rather you die than abdicate". She and her family seem like a bunch of vultures who are interested in nothing but power, even at the cost of people's lives. I pray we get a scene where I-An finds out all she's done, avenges his brother, saves his nephew, and raises him in the happy, loving family setting he longed for as a child.

Due to censorship, their relationship was watered down a LOT. From what I've heard, the novel is jam-packed with spicy scenes and lots of kisses, so the pregnancy scare was actually completely believable. In the drama, they just cut off the scenes after they had like a 3-second kiss, but in reality, there was a lot more going on between them that we just didn't get to see lol.

Finally finished this drama after putting it off cause I didn't want it to end. I think POJ will always hold a special place in my heart from now on. Maybe because I've been waiting for it for a long time, or maybe because the chemistry between the leads is so good. Either way, I know I love it. I wish we could've seen some more scenes like the deleted scene in ep 38, Gongsun Yin and Qi Shu's wedding, Changyu and Zheng's kids, and maybe a future scene of Bao'er and Changning getting together. I still hold some delusional hope in my heart that these things will be shown in a special episode lol. I did, however, love the 10 minutes for the alternate universe. It was just so comforting to watch in a way I can't completely describe. Overall, a big 10/10 from me, and I'm crossing my fingers that we'll get to see TXW and ZLH in a modern drama (maybe a casting director will recognize their amazing chemistry and take POJ's success even with the leak into consideration and give them another drama, who knows).

It's so nice meeting others who like modern dramas because I feel like saying that gets you so much hate, as so many people assume it means you hate costume dramas. similar to how people associate feminism with man-haters.

Yeah. As someone who prefers modern dramas a lot more than costume dramas, I pray that he has some modern roles coming up. While I did like WRTW, I think he was so much better in his modern dramas.

I finished episode 35 and then kinda just stopped. I think a part of me just doesn't wanna say goodbye, and another part is disappointed about the ending because I got so many spoilers that it just doesn't give me the same excitement that I would get otherwise when watching the finale of a show I've loved as much as I've loved POJ.

Can anyone tell me where to find the original post of her latest vlog with Victor Ma? Also, if there is a full version with English subs. I have looked online for about half an hour and have no idea how to go about watching it.

Just rewatched YAMG and FOMH and remembered what a great actor YY is because I didn't even realize he was the ML for both of the dramas until just now. He's such a good actor as both of those roles were SO different. I've been a fan of his since I started watching cdramas and am hoping for a new work of his soon!

Unfortunately, I don't have anything but Netflix and Disney+. I just wish I hadn't started the first two episodes, because now I really want to know what happens next.

Went to watch the new episodes today, only to find I can't watch the show anymore because Netflix changed the rating to TV-MA. I really do hate parental restrictions. 😔

I would say if you can, just watch those scenes on a faster playback speed, because while it's a bit tedious to watch, the plot isn't actually that complicated, and the politics are a pretty big aspect of this drama, so skipping any scenes will lead to a lot of confusion in the future.
