Exactly. I also feel like her problems could have so easily been solved if she had opened her eyes to the fact that Sima Jiao is a good person and the rumours about him were false. For one, it makes no sense that two of her most trusted companions are very close to him, but still completely morally upright and kind if he really is like the tumours say he is. Also, if she had explained her situation to Ting Yan, she most likely would've found a way to convince Sima Jiao to open the barrier to help her, since he would do anything for Ting Yan. All it needed was for her to stop being biased towards him and just trust her friends' judgment.

I don't know about other people, but I just dislike it a bit because HNJ is basically a lovesick puppy who blindly follows whatever she says. She's betrayed his trust and put him and the people he loves in danger multiple times, and he always seems to forget about it and forgive her without her apologizing or even attempting to explain her actions. Yes, she has her reasons, but that doesn't mean she's entitled to treating her relationships with LTY and HNJ like dirt. Although the memory loss arc is ripping my heart apart for the main leads' relationship, I can't bring myself to care that much for the second leads. I agree they're a bit cute, but other than that, I don't see the appeal of them.

Considering this is the immortal realm and their sense of time is a lot different than the human realm, that isn't a really long period of time. But he did say that it felt longer than his 500 years of imprisonment because they were apart.

Although the FL is silly and lazy, it makes her a lot more realistic, as not everyone would adapt to a new world really easily. And the romance is definitely natural on both sides; it just takes a while for it to develop. I think you should maybe give it a bit more of a chance if you're considering dropping it, especially if you're a fan of CFY. His character is really good in this one.

Same. His snake form made it seem like he would be a bit rude and domineering, but instead, they made him a dog in a snake's clothing. I wish they had let Gao Han show off his skills with a character with more of an emotional range rather than this lovesick puppy vibe, but at least it doesn't take away from the drama, and it's still watchable.

It has amazing potential so far, but I really hope they don't ruin it in the second half like so many other dramas this year. I'm sick of getting hooked into dramas with an amazing plot, only for it to go downhill after it actually starts getting a little attention. Hopefully, this one will break the trend!

I feel like he hasn't started falling for her yet. He's just a hot-headed, entitled, and arrogant person by nature, since he's the king and nobody's told him no (but our FL will be the first to do so, changing his view on things and making him a better person!). And the consort not liking her is only because of her own insecurities and the fact that the FL was praised by the king for her talent in cooking, which he's never done to anyone before. But I think it'll definitely develop into an amazing romance by the looks of it. Their current chemistry itself is off the charts!

Agreed. I feel like if he really was the tyrannical and arrogant person he's portrayed to be in episodes 1 and 2, he would've just killed her when they first met, no questions asked. After all, they've said that he apparently has "no regard for his people's lives", which makes me think that it's highly unlikely he would've even let her live after the first half of the episode after she insulted and hit him like that! But thank goodness he didn't, because their chemistry while bickering is so good, and I can't wait for their enemies-to-lovers forbidden romance arc!!!!

Just realized he's done 4 dramas with Xu Kai. It finally makes sense why he's in so many of the dramas I've watched since I'm a Xu Kai fan, but that's also made me a Gao Han fan along the way!

I've loved his acting ever since Falling Into Your Smile. Although he didn't have a really big role with lots of lines in that, I started noticing him in a lot of the other dramas I watch, like As Beautiful As You and Love Like the Galaxy. When I realized he was in this, I got pretty excited. I love having a supporting actor who can convey different emotions and play all types of roles.

I'm loving this drama so much so far. It's nice to see a relatable lead when they travel back in time, because most people accept it in the first 10 minutes of them travelling back, while our FL actually questioned things and went through phases of shock. I love the chemistry of the leads, too. If I didn't see the comments sections, I wouldn't even know about the age gap. I hope the drama doesn't disappoint in the future.

Oh. I don't watch BL, so I wasn't aware of the heavy censorship. I mean, I would assume it's heavily censored given how censored even normal shows are, but I didn't think it was this extreme. Thanks for the insight.

I remember searching it up once, and I'm pretty sure they've had laws against things like rebirth and time travel since around 2010. It's so that people don't believe in supernatural things and don't disrespect history or something like that. But I never knew of a law against BL, because aren't there so many BL and FL cdramas?

Decided to give this a try and am now 2 episodes in. Safe to say I am obsessed with this show now. I love the FL's facial expressions so much. The story has me hooked, but I've seen some clips on TikTok of sad scenes, and I don't do well with trauma dramas or sad dramas, which is why I usually stay away from costume dramas, but I'm crossing my fingers for this one.
