I don't really find it that surprising since they're both so career-driven and extreme workaholics. That and the fact that they had horrible experiences with first love probably made them want to stay away from it. Also, BJY was being closely watched by his grandma so romance wouldn't have been in the books even if he wanted it.

I can't wait for their dating era because HSY is giving me major shameless vibes. I feel like the second they start dating and they're out of the awkward phase he's gonna become a shameless rascal. And I can't wait for it!!!

I feel like the majority of viewers prefer this since it's her being able to process her emotions in her own way before fully being in a committed relationship w the main lead and being able to give him her entire heart and all her love. Because if not, he would just be a rebound which isn't very realistic or romantic. Also, she was with her ex for 7 years and he was also her first love. Her "lash out" wasn't even an actual lash out, she just threw his flowers (a tool for manipulation) on the ground and told him no. And her crying was a normal output of emotions. Since when was there an age limit to having feelings?

I know!! I wish she also added a slap after he gave her that list of shitty excuses but our queen SXF is just too professional and calm for that.

Which of the characters are dubbed? I don't speak or understand any Chinese so I usually don't really pay attention to that and don't notice any dubbing.

I cannot wrap my head around the fact that she's getting in trouble at work for dealing with her shitty ex? She didn't even make a scene in the lobby like he wanted to! Instead, she took him outside to a quiet and uncrowded place and made sure not to raise her voice and attract attention to them. If anything, she should be rewarded for acting that level-headed when put in that situation because I know I sure as hell would not have been able to be that calm. I hope we can just move on from this and she gets together with Suye soon so he can show her what true happiness is like!!

My guess is that they'll start having mutual feelings for each other or very early dating stage and then find out because now that their best friends (second couple) know about it I think they won't let them be together without knowing the truth.

I don't think so because the preview for ep 6 shows that they decide to ignore it and she goes on a blind date which makes him angry. The romance will probably take some more time but I hope it comes fast!

I was ready for their relationship to progress more in ep5 but i WAS NOT EXPECTING A WHOLE KISS OML!!! It makes me scared bc it's only the fifth episode but also excited bc I wanna see more of their relationship!!

I hate seeing the MLs hurt so badly together but also being so far apart at the same time. I feel rlly bad for Xifan bc even though she likes him, she's scared because of the trauma from her past relationship. And as for Suye, he's also getting flashbacks from his past because of what we've heard about his ex but not just that, he's been triple hit with the sadness and anger because his love life, career, and family situations have all been going bad lately. I need the next eps to come faster so we can see our babies happy, in love, and thriving!

Yeah, I think they'll definitely be together by ep 17-18.

Many of you might already know this, but I just found out that if you go to iQiyi and look at the highlights for TBT, there's a lot of funny BTS and also you get a lot of spoilers and scenes to look forward to. You don't have to pay for it since watching highlights of a show can be done without an account and it also has subtitles! Hope this helps anybody looking for something like this.

At the end of episode 12 he confesses to her directly but the episode ends before we get to see her response

Does anybody else feel uneasy about his confession right now? I think she's gonna reject him because of her going abroad and that'll cause misunderstandings between them because he'll think she doesn't like him for a few eps before they actually get together. After all it's only 12/28 episodes...

That deep hug at the end of ep 20 was SO BUTTERFLY INDUCING!!! I seriously can't wait for more of their dating era and seeing them be more in love!

This is one of my absolute favourite dramas. Maybe because it's my first costume drama but idk, it'll always hold a special place in my heart. I wish the OST was on Spotify so I can listen to it bc it's one of the best OSTs ever. I love everything about it I don't even know how many times I've rewatched it.

Is it just me or did ep 19 feel like 5 mins to everyone bc I JUST started the episode and then the ending credits were already on my screen? I NEED all the eps to drop so bad.

Although Victor is great for Sang Yan in Hidden Love, who has a really funny and silly personality, TFF requires someone who can portray the deep relationship between Sang Yan and Wen Yifan. If you've watched TFF, you can see that for the plot, BJT is a perfect fit for the role as he is like the novel character brought to life both in behaviour and looks. Moreover, VM is a singer more than an actor, and a role that requires a lot of really deep and specific emotions wouldn't really suit him in my opinion. But this is just my take on it, to each their own.
