There’s just too much pretending! I don’t know where to begin with this kdrama. I thought the premise was quite interesting and HJWs in it but dang because I started watching it I felt a strong obligation to finish it till the last episode otherwise I would’ve dropped it after episode 6. Some of the characters were quite obnoxious and annoying, and HJWs Oh Ha Na seems to send women empowerment back to the stone ages. But yeah at least LJW and HJW really looked good together. Also, I like YKS but I totally hated the despicable character he played in this drama. In the end, you really can’t force love on someone and not being true to your feelings will eventually create complications.
Hotel del Luna, Encounter and The K2 are included in the list of highest-rated dramas in Korean cable television. Hence, I doubt they flopped. But yeah since preferences are subjective everyone basically has their own standards when it comes to kdramas.
I'm tired of these age gap romances. It seems to be an increasingly popular trope in BL.
My exact sentiments. Japanese BLs are really fond of the older male - younger male romance. In the movie I feel so sad for Hiroki coz it seems like Yoichi has unresolved daddy issues.
No hate intended but this kdrama is so overrated. I mean what’s up with the inconsistent plot and editing, the lack of coherent direction and those unbearable forced scenes. C’mon are we really not gonna talk how closely similar are these two “different worlds”? Anyway, not my cup of tea or maybe I’m just biased coz I’m not the biggest fan of KGE. Either way it’s just my opinion about the show and I’m sure you also have yours. Unto the next kdrama.
Initially I had concerned expectations having read the synopsis of the film. I feared it could give me disappointment, and yes it did. Despite the film’s seemingly implausible storyline and lack of character development, I still found myself cheering for the two male leads until the last few minutes of the film which was unfortunate and left me baffled with questions. It’s a shame how things turned out for the main characters, so I couldn't really like the film because of this.
Surprisingly I actually liked the film. The story was straightforward yet endearing, melancholic yet charming with its low-key upbeatness. The actors though seem forced at times had more depth than I expected. Their vulnerability and innocence were visible as they struggle with their genuine emotions. I really did enjoy watching the film and thankfully it ended on a happy note.
I particularly don’t hate the film but I also don’t like it. Thin acting, an equally thin plot with a string of vacuously elongated and monotonic scenes which demonstrates what happens when a director in-over-his-head meets a half-finished script. For a film apparently aimed to distinguish the difference between sex for money and love it vaguely manages to approximate this and rather gives stretch actions just to fill time.
The plot is simple, a bit slow paced but strong and well drafted which I think added to the sincere beauty of the movie. The characterizations, the minimal dialogues and the soothing strumming of the guitar in the background. Altogether they managed to set up a touching movie about falling in love.
In a way, not much happens in the film, but still it is fascinating from beginning to end. My attention was immediately caught by the beautiful Japanese setting, and as the film progressed, by the unusual storyline. This film has quite a dark overall atmosphere, some moments were quite graphic, both sex and violence. Nevertheless, it’s a visually stunning film well worth watching.
It’s my third attempt to finish this series but I can’t seem to pass beyond episode 10. I easily lose interest when a love triangle involves a female character!
Does he really have to be reincarnated as a girl for their love to be realized and accepted by society? It’s just my opinion but thinking about this really makes me sad ?
It doesn't. If you want to watch it just for the bromance, it isn't worth it.
Oh dang, I guess I’m just trying to find something to fill in the void left by The Untamed. Anyway, I started watching the first few episodes however I find the pace too slow for my liking but the production is something to behold. Btw thanks for replying. Cheers. Good day.
