I'll give this drama a few things, 1) after a lot of fast forwarding, I did manage to finish it. 2)The relationship between the main lead and her sister is so cute. 3) It had a few saving grace moments with the main family and their kindness. Still, it was a struggle to get past that crazy Male Protagonist and overly submissive Female. I usually don't hate on dramas, but this one was a bit too much for me. I watched this to explore the "Slap-kiss" Thai Dramas genre. I am fairly new to Thai dramas, was curious about why I was so hooked to Kleun Cheewit, and wanted to watch a similar drama; This one was recommended, yet, one is not like the other. These are on different levels of likeability. I would highly recommend Keun Cheewit as a guilty pleasure, but I don't think I can recommend this drama.
Solid 8/10. Enjoyed it for the most part. ONly quips are when the Main Male lead lost most of his charm and personality and became a gloomy vegetable salad. As well as, the girl getting kidnapped every two seconds. Buy a pepper spray or something! But still worth the watch.
I adored this drama. I really liked seeing Nadech paired off with another actress other than Yaya because they…
I'm not that well versed in Thai Dramas, but I'm currently watching, Once Upon a Time…In My Heart - Karn La Krang Neung…Nai Hua Jai (กาลครั้งหนึ่ง…ในหัวใจ). It's not as lighthearted, but I found it really addicting and well made. The chemistry between the leads is sizzling hot.
This was a good and enjoyable drama in most parts, except for Nara's lacking chemistry with Nadech. Every time he wanted to hug her or kiss her she looked as though she didn't want it, felt uncomfortable, and/or was forced into. I felt worried on her behalf. Despite this, I would still recommend this lahkorn. Found it worth the watch. I hope my worry was misplaced.
I didn't like the movie much either but you should know it was going for the realism, showing what usually happens…
I see. I guess it would work for the Japanese audience. As for me, I just did not expect it. I really wanted them to end up together. I will avoid Makoto Shinkai, thank you. I don't always expect a happy ending, but I guess I like more fantasy than I thought in my tv shows.
If it's based on the Taiwanese drama, I would recommend avoiding this, especially if they are faithful to the original. I watched the whole thing, and when it ended I swear I had to take deep breaths and remind myself that it was only a TV show and that as much as I wanted to throw my shoe at the screen, it was not worth it. As you can probably guess, I do harbor a lot of resentment towards the original one.
Netflix has secured the rights to stream this drama.https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/iqiyi-ups-the-ante-in-push-for-bigger-international-market-with-export-of-several-hit-shows-300565588.html
Thanks for the info. It seems that Netflix has realized the money-making potential of this niche market.
Don't want to get anyone's hopes up but there is a page for this over at Dramafever:https://www.dramafever.com/drama/5127/Tientsin_Mystic__-_%E6%B2%B3%E7%A5%9E/So…
First, a warning! I have a lot to say. I haven't really been able to speak to anyone about my love for Turkish dramas. Please bear with me :)
Thank you so much for this article. I have watched a few Turkish dramas, but they are hard to find translated into English. Interestingly enough, in the United States, the channels that serve Hispanics show them dubbed in Spanish. They were airing ASK Yeniden, last time I checked. But unfortunately couldn't watch it.
I think Turkish dramas are good programming choice because they have many similarities to Latin American Novelas, such as the format of having large casts with intersecting story lines, plush large episode count. Thouhg I must say, in my opinion Turkish dramas are better than a lot of the Latin American soap operas' recent outcrops. (just my opinion. I haven't been able to enjoy an actual Latina american soap opera in a long time. There seem to be no more of the quality of Amor Real :( ) Also interesting, to me, was realizing that Mexico did a remake of the Turkish Drama, Ezel.
Netflix USA has a few Turkish dramas, but they are not all completed. T.T Which is one of the reasons I love Asian dramas and dislike USA series. I HATE incomplete dramas and shows. Specially when they get cancelled. Some Turkish dramas are similar to US shows in that way. They can go on for seasons and then get cancelled and you never know how they were going to end ! Buaaahhh! I detest this with passion.
Anyway, I love how beautiful Turkish people shown in the dramas are. Here's looking at you, Tuba and Engin. Among others. I liked how watching these dramas open up my perspective about Turkey itself and see them beyond what's shown in USA media, which is not great.
I really wish I could watch more Turkish dramas like the ones listed here, but finding them seems nearly impossible.
I know this was long, but I am grateful for the opportunity to express my thoughts about this topic, since I know no one else who likes to watch Turkish dramas.
Hi JadeDarcy, I did the same thing.I had watched 12 episodes of Nirvana In Fire, dropped it (nah, more like put…
I agree 100% with you. These are excellent tips! I'll take the liberty of cosigning this with you. NIF requires one to focus and pay attention. That's why I loved it. It was emotionally and intellectually satisfying.
I can't wait for my next addition. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us!!

I love AvenueX's videos. She's on point with her recommendations.
I wish this would get translated soon. I've been watching it, but understand absolutely nothing of the language :(
