i lovee this drama but I've never been so uninterested in the love line b/w the main leads. It's honestly so boring and unnecessary, and I wish they'd cut down on the time spent on ML's scenes w the FL and use that time instead to showcase the hilarious bromance (which i'm loving btw) between Rain and Kim Bum's characters lol.
That said, I'm also looking forward to the unfolding chemistry b/w Seun tak and Soo jung :D
ok they made the characters a little too insane. like such over-exaggeration and ridiculousness is pretty tolerable in anime, manga, or webtoons but in a live-action drama it's a bit uhhhhhhhh idk too much and kinda unrealistic? i wish they'd tone done the characters at least just a little :|

No ahhh I didn't mean it that way. Like I still haven't finished reading the webtoon yet but I meant like it deals with dark topics like suicide, bullying, depression, ptsd, death etc.

I totally agree! K dramas don't really do the sports genre much at all so maybe our expectations were too high. Like I think I was expecting it to be something like Haikyuu where (almost) every single point is explained and you feel like you're watching an actual match
Oof I was hoping they wouldn't try to insert romance into the drama. Also ngl the drama's getting a little boring for me (or maybe I just had really, really high expectations because I absolutely loved the first few eps). I wish they showed the badminton matches in more detail because it would've been so exciting to watch the underdogs winning/improving. And at this point, I think I'm more interested in the city couple and villagers' dynamic.
Nevertheless I still think it's a drama that gives you those warm slice of life feels so I will continue watching it without expecting much from the sports angle

Usually dramas which are considered to be slightly below average or barely average tend to get rated a high 7 or a very low 8 on MDL. It's just relative
